SWMM을 이용한 비점오염원 관리 저류지의 오리피스 설계기법 연구 (Detention Orifice Design for Non-point Source Management Using SWMM)

  • This study illustrates how to design and evaluate a non-point sources management detention pond using SWMM. In particular, special attention is given to the orifice design. In SWMM, orifice properties that need to be defined include its height above the bottom of the storage unit, its type, its geometry and its hydraulic properties. Among the various characteristics of orifice, the orifice hole size which is closely related to hydraulic retention time is focused in this study. Sensitivity analysis of orifice size in annual non-point sources reduction efficiency is carried out. In addition, a methodology which can be used to design a virtual junction in SWMM has been proposed to quantify water quality improvement triggered by the detention pond installation. As a result, it is recommended that a detention outlet should be designed to be about 2 to 3 days of hydraulic retention time.

청소기모터의 가속수명시험설계 (Accelerated Life Test Design for Vacuum Cleaner Motors)

  • In this paper, an accelerated life test procedure for a vacuum cleaner motor is proposed. We investigate the failure mechanism of the motor and select some accelerating factors and determine the orifice size as a key accelerating factor. Three stress levels of orifice size are tested and the failure data with censored data are analyzed. The modified accelerating test will reduce the test time in design phase by using the accelerating factor.

  • Damping piston with an orifice in the piston head is utilized to improve the damping characteristics of a pneumatic push-push type rotary actuator. Through linearized analysis, the optimum size of orifice, which gives maximum damping effect at the frequency where damping is desired. most, is predicted. The frequency response test of teal system were carried out to see the effects of damping piston and to obtain true optimum size of orifice by trying orifices of various size near the predicted value. During the tests, both air and helium were tried as working fluid, and a lag-lead compensation circuit was incorporated to improve system dynamics. The finally chosen orifice size is a little bigger than that predicted from analysis, however it gives high damping effects for the finally designed pneumatic system enough to have wide frequency response bandwidth.

  • 단공 분사기와 선회형 분사기의 두 가지 연료분사기에 대해 2상 유동 수치해석을 수행하였다. 단공 분사기의 경우, 캐비테이션 모델을 적용하여 압력조건에 따른 유출계수, 캐비테이션 발생 영역 크기와 정도를 계산하여 분석하였으며, 실험결과와도 비교하였다. 선회형 분사기에서는 VOF모델을 적용하여 두 가지 형상에 대해 공기코어의 크기, 분무각, 그리고 벽 압력 분포 등을 실험결과와 비교했다.

Development of cryogenic free-piston reciprocating expander utilizing phase controller

  • A free-piston reciprocating expander is a device which operates without any mechanical linkage to a stationary part. Since the motion of the floating piston is only controlled by the pressure difference at two ends of the piston, this kind of expander may indispensably require a sophisticated active control system equipped with multiple valves and reservoirs. In this paper, we have suggested a novel design that can further reduce complexity of the previously developed cryogenic free-piston expander configuration. It is a simple replacement of both multiple valves and reservoirs by a combination of an orifice valve and a reservoir. The functional characteristic of the integrated orifice-reservoir configuration is similar to that of a phase controller applied in a pulse tube refrigerator so that we designate the one as a phase controller. Depending on the orifice valve size in the phase controller, the different PV work which affects the expander performance is generated. The numerical model of this unique free-piston reciprocating expander utilizing a phase controller is established to understand and analyze quantitatively the performance variation of the expander under different valve timing and orifice valve size. The room temperature experiments are carried out to examine the performance of this newly developed cryogenic expander.

회전연료노즐의 오리피스직경에 따른 분사특성연구 (A Study of Spray Characteristics of the Rotating Fuel Nozzle with Orifice Diameters)

  • 고속회전 시험장치를 이용하여 V 형태의 회전식 연료 노즐의 오리피스 직경에 따른 분사특성을 파악하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 시험장치는 고속 회전장치, 연료공급장치, 아크릴 케이스로 구성하였다. 분무 오리피스의 직경과 회전속도를 변화시켜가며 분무실험을 수행하였다. 분무입자의 크기 및 속도 측정은 PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) 시스템을 사용하였고, Nd-Yag Laser를 이용하여 분무특성을 가시화하였다. 실험결과, 분무오리피스의 직경이 커질수록 분무입자의 크기가 작아졌으며, 분무입자 크기가 가장 작은 값을 보이는 분무오리피스의 한계 직경이 존재하였다. 오리피스의 직경이 이 한계직경 보다 클 경우 분무입자의 크기는 더 이상 감소하지 않았다. 이것은 분무 오리피스의 직경이 한계직경보다 커질 경우 오리피스 내의 액막이 균일하게 분포하지 않기 때문으로 판단된다.

  • Control of shock may be important in the hydraulic system and necessary to avoid failure and to improve the efficiency of operation. This study addresses the design and use of an orifice to provide the desired control of the hydraulic actuator system. The experimental apparatus is an idealization of an automobile shift system. Control is accomplished by installing three different types of orifices at appropriate locations in the system. Experimental results show that the orifice can be used to obtain the control of shock and control level depends on the orifice size, orifice type, operating pressure and flow rate.

연료 종류에 따른 이중 오리피스 노즐의 분무 특성 연구 (A Spray Characteristics of Dual Orifice Injector with Different Fuel Properties)

  • The effects of fuel density and fuel viscosity on spray characteristics were investigated under two different gas turbine fuels and various fuel supply pressure conditions through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system in dual orifice injector for gas turbine engines. In this study, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density for dual orifice injector. The spray characteristics of high density fuel in dual orifice injector are similar with the characteristics of low density fuel in single orifice injector. The shear region between primary main fuel stream and secondary main fuel stream is examined in low density fuel condition but not exist in high density fuel condition, then this shear region is very important in quality of gas turbine spray. There are worth consideration for the effect of fuel density on spray characteristics in frontal device design to improve combustion efficiency.

덕트누기시험기용 풍량측정 오리피스의 최적위치 선정에 관한 연구 (Optimal Location of Orifice in Duct Leakage Tester for Air Flow Measurement)

  • In this study, five experiments were carried out, with an orifice located downstream of a fan in case I and upstream distance to the fan in the rest cases(case $II{\sim}$), so as to determine the optimal location of the orifice and reduce the size of airflow measurement device. The resulting flow rate-pressure drop correlations were found to satisfy the limitation of SMACNA standard, which specified an error of ${\pm}7.5%$ based on the real flow rate. The best outcome was achieved with the orifice located midway of the orifice duct 4 times its diameter long.
