This study focuses on the origin and the literature of eyelid-acupuncture, nunchim therapy in Korea and its present clinical usage in modern Korea. The therapy is called nunchim at local area of Korea and has been transmitted as folk remedy because its real practice has been fallen into oblivion in the regular medical institution in modern Korea. On the contrast, some old women called nunchim-halmae, still know its practice and give medical therapy in a certain irregular way. While many kinds of eye clinics are prevalent in Korea, some patients with chronic eye diseases still go to get the nunchim therapy from nunchim-halmae. Moreover some oriental medical doctors have learned the therapy from nunchim-halmae and performed that medical service in their clinics in spite of absence of medical insurance coverage. Nunchim has unique historic origin and transmission linage in Korea, which was shed light on by this research. We present concise structure of the essence of nunchim therapy and 80 year old woman case of dramatic eye curing with the therapy.
This study is on Yoshimasu Todo's thoughts of a real doctor and medicine. Conclusions are as below. disease-doctor[疾醫] is a doctor treating diseases by poisonous medicines. His role is different from food-doctor[食醫] who recuperates vital energy by food. Unlike food-doctor, a disease-doctor only detoxicates poisons of diseases by using poisonous medicines. Disease-doctor shall not take credit upon himself for the service of Heaven' s power. This is Yoshimasu Todo's view of a real doctor. Medicine is not an imagination, but a reality. It is the recognition of knowing what can be known and seeing what can be seen The truth of medicine is in ancient words(古語), ancient teachings[古訓] and ancient ways[古法]. To study medicine is not recklessly believing and following the contents of ancient medical texts-${\ulcorner}$Sanghanlon(傷寒論)${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Geumgwe-yolyag(金置要略)${\lrcorner}$,${\ulcorner}$Somun(素問)${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Yeongchu(靈樞)${\lrcorner}$. It is to follow the ancient ways written and left in ancient books and not to follow wrong ways fabricated by after ages. The theories of eum-yang-obaeng(陰陽五行) and o-un-yuggi(五運六氣) are useless to medicine because these are groudless ones. This is Yoshimasu Todo's view of medicine.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated medical service model for a fibromyalgia patient and their caregiver, focusing on reducing pain and improving quality of life. Methods: A single-case study design was employed, involving a fibromyalgia patient and their primary caregiver treated at W University Hospital. The integrated medical service program, based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare's model, included medical consultations and complementary therapies such as psychological counseling, art therapy, music therapy, horticultural therapy, yoga, and meditation. The program was conducted weekly for 8 weeks, with each session lasting up to 100 minutes. Data collection involved both quantitative and qualitative assessments. Quantitative data included demographic surveys, psychological tests, health-related quality of life measures, pain indices, and sleep quality indices. Qualitative data were gathered through feedback evaluations and emotional assessments. Results: The patient showed improvements in mobility, self-care, daily activities, and anxiety/depression, with EQ-VAS scores increasing from 20 to 40 and pain perception decreasing from 67.41 to 42.58. The caregiver reported reduced anxiety/depression and an increase in EQ-VAS scores from 95 to 98. Both patient and caregiver exhibited emotional changes, with decreased depression and increased happiness. However, the patient showed an increase in fear and anger. Conclusions: The integrated medical service model positively impacted the emotional and psychological well-being of the fibromyalgia patient and their caregiver. Despite the limitations of a small sample size and a single-case study design, the findings suggest that an integrated approach can be beneficial. Larger-scale studies are needed to confirm and generalize these results.

The proportion of medical expenses was 97.6% for dementia patients, 2.3% for mild cognitive impairment, and 1% for patients progressing from mild cognitive impairment to dementia. 86,070 claims (98.4%) were from Western medical care, with16,824 patients (98.2%), and the medical expenses was 38,546,895,400 won (99.7%). 1,361 claims (1.6%) were from Korean medical care, with 303 patients (1.8%), and the medical expenses was 133,894,160 won (0.3%). Conclusions: This study compared and analyzed the medical costs of dementia patients and the diagnosis of both Korean and Western medical care. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic research data for investigating cost effectiveness of developing early diagnosis of dementia.
The Serial Securities and the Social Welfare, as the national policy aimed at securing generals' lives, are the policies or systems for the stabilization in lift; especially of law-incomers and workers, for which the povernment has to establish the Social Security System. No wonder the Social Insurance System is a part of the Social Security System and the most important. The Social Insurance System, along with Public Assistance, is underlying the Social Security System. The oriental medical insurance system which began to operate in 1987 in Korea is based on unionism and divided into 3 parts; one part for the worker, a second part for the community inhabitants, and a third part for the public service personnel and private school personnel. Today the medical problem must be the most important social assignment to be considered. The medical system of contemporary industrial society has began greatly stood out in relief as a part of social welfare not emphasized on gainings of physicians. Objectives : This study is aimed to analyse immunohistochemical research trend on psoriasis and consider the results in terms of Korean medicine. Methods : We analyse both immunohistochemical research papers and Korean medical papers on psoriasis, which I searched using KISS(Korean studies Information Service System) and OASIS(Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System). Results : Psoriasis is characterized by hyperporliferation of the epidermis, inflammatory cell accumulation and increased tortuosity and dilatation of dermal papillary blood vessels. Recently, angiogenesis is considered to play a major role in pathogenesis of psoriasis. Conclusion : In Korean medicine, blood-tonifying, blood-cooling and blood-activating medicinal herbs have generally been used to treat psoriasis. I consider these herbs which also treat vessel problem can have an effect on angiogenesis of psoriasis.
As we enter the 21st century, the Information Era, we are making a national effort to digitalize the information resources of Korean Studies, based on our leading digital technology. However, there is much difficulty of computerizing Chinese characters used in Korea, China, and Japan, with the of technologies developed by the West. This paper gives an example of how to register and process the Newly found ideographs(新出漢字) put forth by Digitalization of Knowledge information resource on Korean oriental medicine.
All this while, 'Chimgugyeongheombang' has been rated as the level of Im Heo's personal writing. However, Huh, m, in his introduction of 'Chimgugyeongheombang' made it clear that his purpose of publishing this book was to criticize the doctors of the day who were tied down by one or two curative methods, and at the same time, ultimately to improve the quality of national medical service by enlightening them. It seems that such incompetent doctors' engagement in medical service at that time was attributable to insufficient medical education system unlike today as against much social demand for acupuncture & moxibustion therapy. Im Heo, in an effort to enlighten the medical practitioners of the day, put emphasis on an eclectic method, and contained the theories on internal organs and meridian on a systematic basis. In addition, he made his updated medical skills known to medical circles by integrating and wrapping up the Acupuncture & Moxibustion techniques at that time. Lastly, he tried to provide the optimized information for clinical trials in his own language by using a preposterous writing style and form. In such a context, 'Chimgugyeongheombang' is not a special medical book gripped with a sentence, or a simple medical formula with an emphasis on empiricism, but rather it might be proper to say that his 'Chimgugyeongheombang' was a serious attempt to embrace all the merits of both parties.
