The aim of this study was to show the clinical aspects in outpatients who visited Oriental Neuropsychiatry Clinic. Method : We studied 419 patients who visited Oriental Neuropsychiatry Clinic of Dong-Sea Medical Center from march, 2007 to August, 2007. Results & Conclusion : 1. The ratio of male to female patients was 1:2 and age distribution was most frequent in 50s. 2. From onset, 32% of patients visited Oriental Neuropsychiatry Clinic in a week, 58% of patients visited in a month. 3. Oriental Neuropsychiatry diseases were 80%, Non-Oriental Neuropsychiatry diseases were 20%. The most common Oriental Neuropsychiatry diseases were Somatoform Disorders. 4. The most common diagnosises of the Oriental Neuropsychiatry diseases were Psychosomatic diseases. 5. The most common cheif corn1ains were Headache. 6. The most commonly used herbal medicine was Gamiondam-tang and Guibi-tang

The purpose of this report is to investigate the clinical application of Korean Traditional treatment to abdominal pain patient after subdural hemorrhage occurred. The main herb medicine used in this study is Ondam-tang (wenda-tang) which is frequently used in psychiatric disorders. Also, acupuncture, moxibustion and physical rehabilitation treatment were practiced. After taking an Ondam-tang (wendan-tang), the clinical symptoms of the patient were improved.

Objective: We investigated the actual condition of oriental medical office in Sub-health Center. Method: We classified patients who visited an oriental medical office in a sub-health center of Jeollanam-do during recent 3 years, according to age, time(year), sex, disease, medical instruments, insurance, living condition... etc and studied statistical researches. Result: Almost all patients who visited an oriental medical office in a sub-health center were in 50, 60s. The number of patients were on the decrease. The number of female patients was 2.4 times more than the number of male patients. The most diseases of patients in sub-health center were diseases in connection with bones and sinews system. Generally, medical instruments depended on acupuncture. Conclusion; These results provide actual informations about condition of oriental medical office in Sub-health Center. Oriental medical doctors and offices of sub-health center are supposed to contribute to society, however essentially many problems exist. Public medical doctors of oriental medicine and local administration must renew their efforts for health of people in farming and fishing villages.

This study explored the process of the professionalization of Korean Oriental medicine in Je-Han Medical Center. Je-Han Medical Center has fulfilled the requisites of the professionalization. The process of professionalization of Je-Han Medical Center is different from the process of professionalization of Western medical profession. Firstly, the Korean Oriental medical doctors of Je-Han Medical Center had been educated the standardized Korean Oriental medical knowledges. But the medical practices of them were not fully standardized. Secondly, the Korean Oriental medical doctors of Je-Han Medical Center have occupied the exclusive rights in the areas of Korean Oriental medicine. But there still exists the restriction of the range of license. Thirdly, the Korean Oriental medical doctors of Je-Han Medical Center had pride as a Korean Oriental medical doctor. They had the ideology as the national medical doctors. But the patients' use of Korean Oriental medicine were based on the practical reasons, not based on the ideological reasons. Fourthly, the inner hierarchy of Je-Han Medical Center was very strict. But the hierarchical and authoritarian relations between medical doctors and patients were very weak. Like this, we can find the unique process of professionalization of Korean Oriental medicine in Je-Han Medical Center. These findings can contribute to the extend the horizon of the sociology of profession.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to know the therapeutic effect of herbal-acupuncture on shoulder pain from calcific tendinitis. Methods : The patient who have the calcific tendinitis was treated by herbal-acupunture on 6 acupoints around right shoulder. The shoulder pain and dysfunction was assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS). UCLA Shoulder rating Scale. and SPAI scale. Results : After treatment. all scales showed slightly improvement.. Conclusion : Herbal-acupuncture on shoulder joint was effective in short term study. We need more further study.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical effect of oriental obesity therapy on morbid obese patient with Type 2 Diabetes. Methods Two cases of Type 2 Diabetes patient was treated with herbal medicine, electrolipolysis, dietetic therapy, and aerobic exercise during the treatment period. Results The diagnostic index (Weight, BMI, PBF, WHR, FPG, HgbA1C) was improved at the end of treatment. Conclusion The improvement of the patient with Type 2 Diabetes is identified through receiving oriental medical treatments, dietetic therapy, and aerobic exercises. Further research on medical treatments and long-term maintenance of weight loss for obese patients with Type 2 Diabetes should be needed in order to standardize the treatment methodology.

Objectives : Tremor is increasing recently especially among senior citizens. In this case, the patient who had mandibular tremor caused by trauma, was not improved by western medicine. We tried to apply Oriental medical treatment. Methods : We treated the patient with acupuncture therapy and herbal medication and measured the frequency of the tremor, Jaw expression of Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale(AIMS) and Visual analog scale. Results: After treatment symptom of mandibular tremor was decreased significantly and other symptoms such as insomnia disappeared. Conclusions : During the admission days symptoms are decreased in contentment. This result suggests that Oriental medical treatment has good effect on tremor.

School violence is known to cause various emotional, behavioral and social problems. Low self-esteem, lack of self consciousness, sense of alienation, guilty consciousness, somatoform symptoms and low concentration happened to adolescent victims. This patient was suffering for school violence during about a year, then Pain disorder occurred to him. Neurofeedback has been used as a complementary therapeutic relaxation and a increasing self-esteem technique. This patient, is a 13-year- boy, who had been exposed school violence for a year and caused severe and constant pain, was successfully treated by Neurofeedback therapy with oriental medication. This case report is focused on treatment through these methods.

Objectives : This study was aimed to assess characteristics in acute stroke patients according to abdominal obesity. Method : 1,506 subjects were included from the patients admitted to the Internal Medical Department at Kyunghee University Oriental Medical Center, Kyunghee University East-West Neo Medical Center, Kyungwon University Songpa Oriental Medical Center, Kyungwon University Incheon Oriental Medical Center, and D ongguk University Ilsan Oriental Medical Center from April 2007 to August 2009. Results : 1. Considering the demographic variables of the patients, the gender, older age, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and multiple infarction were significantly higher in the abdominal obesity group than in the control group. 2. Sasang constitution and oriental medical diagnosis showed significant difference in the abdominal obesity group. By oriental medical diagnosis, the D amp ness-Phlegm group was significantly higher in abdominal obesity group than in the control group. According to this analysis, we observed the general disposition of various characteristic distributions according to abdominal obesity in acute stoke patients These results can be utilized in the future as a basis material.

This study was designed to asses the effect of Schultz's Autogenes Training on the pateints diagnosed as depression. We measured the patients' BDI by stage treated by Schultz's Autogenes Training on their adaptation to each stage. In result, BDI of both cases were decreased : the case 1 from 28 to 9 ; the case 2 from 19 to 16. We also recognized that patients' will for recovery is very important to be treated more effectively by Schultz's Autogenes Training: the patients' will of the case 1 was more larger than that of the case 2. After our treatments, Depression and some other symptoms were improved.
