The Impact of Organizational Culture on Employee Communication Satisfaction

  • Purpose - Once individuals in an organization don't comprehend with each other's culture and their interaction context differ, there is a bigger danger of poor communication in the organizations. Therefore, people must have a sufficiently comparable interpretation of data, communicative acts and the office itself. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between organizational culture and employee communication. Research design, Data, and methodology - The present researcher used categorization matrix development to review data for content. Additionally, the present researcher coded the data to correspond with the identified categories. The role of the categorization matrix is to ensure that the categories hardly represent the concepts and thus validating the findings of the study. Result - The findings from prior resources shows that the role of organizational culture on employee communication satisfaction is a pertinent issue that must be addressed and analyzed to help organizations make the desired profits and productivity. This study provides five solutions between organizational culture and employee communication satisfaction. Conclusion - This study concludes that every employee performs well where they think they are being appreciated and their efforts are rewarded. On the other hand, different organizations have instilled different organizational cultures to ensure they promote the level of satisfaction of their employees in order to yield them an improved employee performance and overall organizational performance.

ADR을 통한 저작권분쟁 해결에 관한 검토 (The Role of ADR in the Resolution of the Copyright Disputes)

  • These days utilization of copyright in daily life and economic activities is becoming more important than ever, and IT technology is developing day by day. Along with those fact, copyright infringement and dispute is naturally increasing. This thesis dealt with the 3 different issues of ADR on copyright. The First part, introduce ADR system that was performed by Korea Copyright Committee according to Copyright law. This paper evaluate the committee's efforts to provide resolution of copyright disputes via conciliation was effective. So it needs to be look over several countries' ADR, beside conventional judicial remedy. And Korea's copyright conciliation system which is successfully operating also introduced. Second, In many countries, including South Korea are take advantage of conciliation as the way to settle down the dispute over copyright. Furthermore, looked over if we can use arbitration as tool to settle dispute or not. Currently in Korea, patent dispute is handled by Industrial Property Dispute Conciliation Committee(The Invention Promotion Act Ch.5) and Layout-design Review and Mediation Committee(The Act on the Layout-designs of Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Art.29-34), but using performance of those two committee is still too low. In comparison, the copyright committee, a affiliation organization of the ministry of culture, sports and tourism has much more result in conciliation compare with patent dispute. Copyright disputes has arbitrability of it's subject-matter and many regulating organs are interested in it. (especially, binding of arbitral award and final resolution). Take advantage of both conciliation and arbitration could be good way to resolve copyright disputes. Third, the writer look at the proposal on the creation of Northeast Regional Center for Intellectual Property ADR. Because of the nature of copyright and rapid development of internet technology, international use of work become more frequent and accordingly infringement cases are increasing. The role of commercial arbitration regimes and institutions which has progressed significantly worldwide level, but which has only just begun in the intellectual property ADR area, leads also to a clash of often very different legal cultures and protection in a market economy. International cooperation in regional area with conflict interests becomes an important alternative. But it will depend on the building of regional institutions and mechanisms. The feasibility of this proposal and preconditions were examined. Establishment of new international organization requires a lot of time, cost and efforts. And risk of failure is much too high. Therefore factual, statistical review should be preceded. In addition, technical measures, such as on-line arbitration is necessary to review also. Furthermore in order to establish new organization, the relative law, legal environment, public sentiment and international compliance must be carefully considered with factual review about the needs and economic benefits of each country Yet on complex regulatory matters such as IP and ADR, a great deal of the potential benefits from international standards arises not from the international legal framework nor even the formal content of national legislation, but from the informed and effective use made of the possibilities within the system, including by policymakers and regulators.

병원 간호조직문화와 조직성과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the relationship between nursing organizational culture and organizational performance)

  • Purpose : This research is, by investigating the relations between the cultural types of a nursing organization in a hospital and performance, to ascertain the cultural types to be able to improve performance. Method : The data were gathered from 487 nurses and 328 patients who were in eight general hospitals by using the self-report type of questionnaires. The period of data collection was from August 10, 2000 to September 10, 2000. For this research, the following tools were used; the tools for measuring the organizational characteristics, organizational culture, and job satisfaction, the tool for measuring organizational commitment, and the tool for measuring patients' satisfaction. For data analysis the SPSS Win 7.5 program was used. Result : 1) There was a significant difference in the organizational culture type according to the establishment type of hospital. 2) In the relationship between organization characteristics and organizational culture of a hospital were correlated with the type of each culture(p=0.00). 3) In the relation between the organizational culture type of hospital and its performance, there was a strong positive correlation between innovation-oriented culture and job satisfaction. And relation-oriented culture and task-oriented culture showed that they had a weak positive correlation with job satisfaction(p=0.00). There were a positive correlation between affective commitment and relation-oriented, innovation-oriented cultures(p=0.00), and there were no culture type significantly related to continuance commitment and there was a weak positive correlation among normative commitment and innovation-oriented culture, relation-oriented culture(p=0.00). 4) The types to have an influence upon nurses' job satisfaction were innovation-oriented culture and relation-oriented culture. These had 34.5% of influence with job satisfaction.. The type of organizational culture did not influence continuance commitment, but it had an influence on affective commitment and normative commitment. And relation-oriented culture and innovation-oriented culture had 21% of an influence with affective commitment, and they had 9.5% of an influence with normative commitment. Conclusion : As the above mentioned research results, the organizational culture type was found which had an influence upon nurses' job satisfaction and organizational commitment and patients' satisfaction in nursing service. These results are very significant in having showed the persons in charge of nursing administration a basic data for creation of an effective organizational culture.

'직장 내 괴롭힘 방지법' 교육을 이수한 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘과 직무스트레스 관계에서 간호조직문화의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effects in the Relationship among Workplace Bullying, Job Stress, and Nursing Organizational Culture after completing the course of 'Workplace Bullying Prevention Law')

  • 본 연구는 직장 내 괴롭힘 방지법 교육 후 간호사의 간호조직문화, 직장 내 괴롭힘. 직무스트레스 정도 변화를 확인하고 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘과 직무스트레스에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 간호조직문화의 매개효과를 알아보고자 시도된 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 대상자는 경기도에 소재한 대학병원 간호사 130명에게 설문조사를 실시하였고, 자료분석은 SPSS 23.0 프로그램으로 분석하였다. 간호사의 간호조직문화는 평균 2.99±.74이었으며, 직장 내 괴롭힘은 평균 1.85±.65 이었으며, 직무스트레스는 평균 2.50±.35로 나타났다. 간호사의 간호조직문화는 직장 내 괴롭힘(r=-.45, p=.001), 직무스트레스(r=-.61, p=001)와 부적 상관관계를 나타났으며, 직장 내 괴롭힘은 직무스트레스(r=.42, p=.001)와 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 매개효과를 확인하기 위하여 Sobel test를 실시하였고, 간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘이 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향에서 간호조직문화는 .13의 부분 매개로 통계적으로 유의미하였다(sobel'z=-2.287, p<.05). 따라서 직장 내 괴롭힘을 감소시키기 위해 관계지향적 간호조직문화와 혁신지향적 간호조직 문화를 형성하는 것이 필요하고 직무스트레스를 감소시킬 수 있는 간호근무환경과 간호업무 간의 관련된 조직문화의 이해를 높이는 것이 중요하며 병원조직에서도 예방교육에 대한 제도적인 교육전략이 필요하겠다.

  • 현재 한반도에 터를 잡고 사는 우리는 유구한 역사를 지니고 있으며 과거 선조들은 중앙아시아와 중국의 북방지역까지 넓게 퍼져 살았다. 평상시는 여러 나라들과 서로 교역을 하였지만 사이가 좋지 않을 때에는 전쟁을 치르면서 많은 나라들이 등장하고 사라져갔다. 이러한 역사 속에 다양한 문화가 이루어져 왔고 그 중에 전통무예도 한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 우리의 무예는 조선 후기 화약무기의 발달과 일본의 식민지, 6.25전쟁을 겪으면서 그 명맥이 거의 단절 되었다. 다행이 사서와, 무예서의 기록과 유물이 뒷받침 되어 우리가 전통무예를 연구 하는데 도움이 되고 있다. 조선후기 편찬된 무예서인 무예도보통지는 조선이 임진왜란과 병자호란을 겪으면서 기예를 소홀히 했던 것을 반성하고 조선과 중국, 일본의 기예를 수용하여 엮은 책으로 상세한 설명과 그림, 복식과 무기제원까지 기록 되어 있어 무예연구에 있어 가치가 있다. 그러나 무예도보통지를 근간으로 하는 무예단체나 개인의 기예가 다르며 어느 단체들은 가짓수를 가지고 논쟁 하고 있어 문제이다. 본 연구는 급변하는 유비쿼터스 환경에 발맞추어 스마트의 발달과 시장의 확대로 수많은 교육용 앱이 쏟아져 나오고 있다. 학교 수업 내용에 대한 앱은 전무한 현실에서 교수자가 직접 앱을 개발하여 학교 수업에서 활용하는 방안을 연구하고자 한다. 스마트폰의 최대 장점인 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않고, 언제 어디서나 학교 수업 내용을 학습하고 교수자와 학습자 간의 커뮤니케이션이 원활히 이루어지는 학습 환경을 만드는데 있다.

지식재산으로서의 의방유취의 가치와 DB구축의 필요성에 관한 소고 (A Study for Database of Uibang Yuchui (醫方類聚) and Its Value as the Intellectual Property of Traditional Korean Medical Knowledge)

  • Today, knowledge itself has become a resource which must be protected by the pertinent community of its contributors and users, from being manipulated or distorted by third-party players. The preservation of knowledge in relationship to the cultural context of its origins, has been recognized by international organizations intent on maintaining authentic voice and perspective. Globally, the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) organizes the annual IGC (Intergovernmental Committee) meeting to address various issues associated with each country's utilization of intellectual and bio source property. Korean Medicine is the official name for the traditional medicine that has been inherited from the cultures of the Korean Peninsula. It is one of the four practices of East Asian Medicine including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from China, Kampo Medicine of Japan, and Sino-Vietnamese Medicine in Vietnam. As a cultural treasure representing centuries of evolving knowledge, Korean Medicine is protected under intellectual property rights afforded by WIPO, and must be understood in relationship to, and distinct from, TCM. It is understood that China has a strong political purpose to claim all the traditional medicines of the East Asian region under the name of TCM, including Korean Medicine. In fact TCM was authorized as the representative name for all East Asian medicine by decisions made by the ISO (International Standard Organization) in 2015. This paper proposes a pilot study on how to protect the intellectual property of Korean Medicine from efforts by China to claim it under the umbrella of TCM. Using the Uibang Yuchui (醫方類聚, Classified Collection of Medical Formulas) this paper suggests establishing a Database of UBYC, which was published in 1477 by the Joseon Korea government. UBYC was the reorganized version of contemporary East Asian medical sources, and has already hundreds of year's rich indigenous and culturally specific medical history of Korea, from which Korean Medicine has been built.

경찰 관리자들의 조직 내 갈등 관리 전략 - 사례 연구를 중심으로 - (Conflict Management Strategies of Police Managers - A case study -)

  • 경찰 조직 내에서 갈등 관리는 조직 관리 관점에서 중요한 영역 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 경찰 조직 내에서 절차적인 어려움에 직면할 때 경찰 관리자들이 절차적 혁신성을 갖는지 탐색하고자 한다. 이 연구는 사례 연구 전략을 채택하여 일본, 미국 및 한국의 3개 경찰기관에서 있었던 실제 사례를 조사하였다. 각 경찰기관의 경찰관들을 인터뷰하여, (1) 위계적 권위의 만연, (2) 절차상의 갈등, (3) 조직 문화, (4) 가치와 가정의 기원, (5) 전략의 특성, 그리고 (6) 조직 학습이라는 6가지 주제를 이끌어냈다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 각 경찰기관의 절차적 갈등에 대한 대처 전략에서 유사점이 차이점보다 많았으며, 계층적 권한의 만연, 비공식 네트워크의 중요성 및 비공식 네트워크의 특성이 그 예이다. 핵심적인 결론은 경찰 관리자들이 절차상의 갈등을 극복하기 위해 비공식 네트워크에 상당히 의존했다는 것이다. 연구 참가자들은 비공식적 의사소통에 의존하여 조직의 적응력과 생존 가능성을 높이고자 하였다. 또한, 사회 문화적인 요인이 경찰 조직에 영향을 주었고, 이는 비공식 네트워크의 역할을 지지하는 결과를 가져왔다. 이러한 연구 결과는 공식적인 조직 내에 비공식적인 요소가 크게 자리잡고 있다는 역설을 보여주는 것으로 경찰 조직의 현실을 반영한 것으로 보인다.

Meal skipping habits and nutritional status among Ghanaian students living in Korea

  • Purpose: The consistent rise in the number of foreign students in Korea demands an accurate and detailed investigation into their dietary practices and nutritional status. For these international students, assimilation into new cultures can be stressful. The influence this process may have on dietary behaviors as well as overall health cannot be overlooked. Methods: The researchers in this study sought to investigate the nutritional status and dietary practices of Ghanaian students studying in Korea. A total of 81 Ghanaian male students with an average age of $29.4{\pm}4.0years$ were sampled between May and June 2016. Investigations were carried out on the general characteristics of the participants, their daily food and nutrient intakes using a 24-h dietary recall method, meal skipping practices, and the nutritional quality of their diets based on their meal skipping habits. Results: The study revealed that the daily nutrient intake of subjects did not fully meet the daily recommended nutrient intake (RNI) established by Ghanaian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), particularly for energy, calcium, iron, zinc, and vitamin B2 requirements. The Nutrient Adequacy Ratio (NAR) for calcium was very low, posing a deficiency risk to the participants. Meal skipping practices among participants changed significantly after arriving in Korea. The study also compared the diet quality indicators (Nutrient Adequacy Ratio and Mean Adequacy Ratio) of those who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ with those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Participants who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ were shown to have lower dietary intakes of vitamins B1 and B2 than those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Conclusion: Ultimately, the study found that meal skipping among Ghanaian students was common, and their daily nutrient intakes did not meet the set dietary standards. Those who skipped meals ${\geq}7times/week$ had lower dietary intakes of vitamins B1 and B2 than those who skipped meals < 7 times/week. Based on our study findings, we recommend that nutrition education should be organized for the Ghanaian student community in Korea using our results as a template to draw up a nutrition program that is culturally appropriate.

허혈 상태의 PC12 세포에 대한 대보원전(大補元煎)의 신경보호효과 (Neuroprotective Effects of Daebowonjeon on PC12 Cells Exposed to Ischemia)

  • Neuronal ischemia is a pathological process caused by a lack of oxygen (anoxia) and glucose (hypoglycemia), resulting in neuronal death. It is believed that apoptosis is one of the mechanisms involved in ischemic cell death. Neuronal apoptosis is a process characterized by nuclear DNA fragmentation, changes of plasma membrane organization. To elucidate the mechanism of neuronal death following ischemic insult and to develop neuroprotective effects of Daebowonjeon(DBWJ) against ischemic damage, in vitro models are used. In vitro models of cell death have been devloped with pheochromocytoma (PC12) cell, which have become widely used as neuronal models of oxidative stress, trophic factor, serum deprivation and chemical hypoxia. Using a special ischemic device and PC12 cultures, we investigated an in vitro model of ischemia based on combined Oxygen and Glucose Deprivation (OGD) insult, followed by reoxygenation, mimicking the pathological conditions of ischemia. In this study, Daebowonjeon rescued PC12 cells from Oxygen-Glucose Deprivation (OGD)-induced cell death in a dose-dependent manner The nuclear staining of PC12 cells clearly showed that DBWJ attenuated nuclear condensation and fragmentation which represent typical neuronal apoptotic characteristics. DBWJ also prevents the LDH release and induction of Hypoxia Inducing Factor (HIF)-1 by OGD-exposed PC12 cells. Furthermore, DBWJ reduced the activation of polyADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) by OGO-exposed PC12 cells. These results suggest that apoptosis is an important characteristic of OGD-induced neuronal death and that oriental medicine, such as DBWJ, may prevent PC12 cell from OG D-induced neuronal death by inhibiting the apoptotic process.

의료기관인증의 효과에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰: Balanced Score Card 관점으로 (Impact of Healthcare Accreditation Using a Systematic Review: Balanced Score Card Perspective)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of healthcare accreditation and to provide empirical evidence to validate positive effectiveness. Methods:Six electronic databases (KERIS, KoreaMed, NDSL, Ovid-medline, Embase, Cochrane library) were accessed in May 2016. Keywords used were 'accreditation' and 'Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO)'. Of the initially identified 3,008 articles, 60 studies on healthcare accreditation were selected based on inclusion criteria that are hospital accreditation, accreditation by disease and clinical center accreditation. These were retrieved and analyzed. Result: The 60 study results were on the impact of healthcare accreditation. Results were classified into four perspectives of Balanced Score Card (Financial, Customer, Internal Process, Learning & Growth). In internal process perspective, results revealed that healthcare accreditation has made a positive impact on "care process and procedure". In learning & growth perspective, healthcare accreditation has made a positive influence on "leadership", "organizational cultures" and "change mechanisms". However, it revealed that healthcare accreditation does not directly affect financial performance. It is also difficult to reach a definitive conclusion that healthcare accreditation programs affect patient satisfaction of customer and clinical outcome of the internal process. Conclusion: Healthcare accreditation programs provide positive impact on change of care process and building communication-oriented hospital culture. However, more rigorous and diverse research is needed on financial effects and clinical outcomes of healthcare accreditation.
