The study of the gill infection of rockfishes, Sebastes spp. by monogenetic trematodes conducted during March 2002 to June 2002 are presented. Three species are reported krom examination of 23 rockfishes collected from Oregon Coast Aquarium and Newport fish market, Oregon. Ten rockishes belonging to three species showed an infection rate of 43.5%. A total of 135 monogenetic trematodes was found in the gills of Sebastes spp. Of 135 worms recovered from the gills of 4 harbor rockfishes, two were Sebastes maliger, 14 S. melanops, 110 S. pinniger, and 9 S. crameri. Prevalence and intensity in Microcotyle seba.fis were 11.9％ and 4.0, and for Trochopus trituba they were 81.5% and 55.0, and for Trochopus australis, they were 6.7% and 2.3, respectively. These worms are mainly found firmly attached to the primary lamellae of the gills of the rockfishes.

We analyze the relationship between channel coherence bandwidth and two complexity-reduced lattice reduction aided detection (LRAD) algorithms for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in correlated fading channels. In both the adaptive LR algorithm and the fixed interval LR algorithm, we exploit the inherent feature of unimodular transformation matrix P that remains the same for the adjacent highly correlated subcarriers. Complexity simulations demonstrate that the adaptive LR algorithm could eliminate up to approximately 90 percent of the multiplications and 95 percent of the divisions of the brute-force LR algorithm with large coherence bandwidth. The results also show that the adaptive algorithm with both optimum and globally suboptimum initial interval settings could significantly reduce the LR complexity, compared with the brute-force LR and fixed interval LR algorithms, while maintaining the system performance.

The effects of moisture content on non-fracture dynamic properties and fracture gel quality of Pacific whiting surimi were investigated to determine their relationships. Surimi samples were tested at various moisture contents (75, 78, and 81 %). Torsion test showed that shear stress decreased rapidly and strain values decreased gradually as moisture concentration increased. Dynamic storage modulus (G') also decreased as moisture content increased. A strong positive correlation ($R^2=0.90$ to 0.99) was found between the G' measured at temperatures between 10 and $45^{\circ}C$ and fracture stress values. The results indicate that dynamic rheological measurements could be used as a tool for early gel quality assessment.

대수층 저장 및 회수(Aquifer Storage and Recovery, 이하 ASR) 기법은 지표수가 여유가 있는 기간동안 지하 대수층에 정수된 물을 주입하여 두었다가, 첨두 수요(peak demand)가 필요한 한시적인 기간동안 대수층 내에 저장되어 있던 물을 양수하여 공급하는 새로운 개념의 수자원 공급 체계의 일환이다. 본 발표에서는 미국 Oregon 주의 대표적인 3개 도시에서 수행된 수자원 공급 사업과 이 수자원 공급사업에서 ASR 기법이 어떻게 적용되었는지를 살펴보았다. 이들 도시에서 수행된 ASR 기법을 활용한 수자원 공급은, 기존 지표 저류조 저장 방식에 비해 월등히 경제적이며, 다양한 이점을 가지고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 이들 도시에서의 ASR 기법 적용에 따른 효율성이 2001년도 및 2002년도에 분명하게 나타나 현재 이들 도시는 ASR 시설에 대한 확충 계획을 수립, 진행하고 있다. 한편, 이들 지역의 ASR 기법 활용 용수 공급 사례는, 국내의 경우에도 투수성이 우수한 화산암 지역, 제3기 지층 및 석회암 지역 등에서 활용될 경우, 충분한 효과를 발휘 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

There are various notions of partial ordering between life-times of systems; stochastic ordering failure rate ordering and likeli-hood ration ordering. In this paper we show that for series systems with non i.i.d. exponential lifetimes of components standby redundancy at component level is better than that at system level in failure rate or-dering and likelihood ratio ordering. We also demonstrate that for 2-component parallel systems with i.i.d. exponential lifetimes of com-ponents standby system redundancy is better than standby component redundancy in failure rate ordering and likelihood ratio ordering.

This study focused on how the U.S. apparel companies use social media as a new marking channel. On Facebook Wall the contents of messages in English initiated by companies and consumers were investigated and categorized by using content analysis. Chi-square analysis and t-test were utilized to compare the use of social media by companies with higher and lower business performance. The majority of messages initiated by apparel companies gave their consumers useful information about new products, promotions, and recruiting. On the other hand, messages initiated by consumers contained a variety of content related to companies, users, and products. Apparel companies with lower business performance were more actively engaged in posting messages and responding to consumers. The results will be helpful in employing social media to build new marketing strategies through direct communications with consumers.
