강제vergence 주시시차곡선의 시기능훈련 후의 변화 (The Change After Visual Training of Forced Vergence Fixation Disparity Curve)

  • 목적: 본 연구에서는 강제vergence 주시시차곡선에서 기울기가 가파르고 증상이 있는 사람들을 대상으로 광학적 교정과 시기능훈련이 곡선 type별로 변화가 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 91명의 대상자에 대해 wesson fixation disparity card로 강제vergence 주시시차곡선을 그려 그 중 유형별로 기울기가 가파르고 증상이 있는 대상자 30명을 선택하여 그에 맞는 프로그램에 따라 5주 동안 시기능훈련을 실시하였다. 결과: type I, II, III, IV 중 증상을 호소하는 30명에 대해 5주 동안 실시한 시기능훈련 전과 후에 대한 기울기의 변화에는 유의한 변화(p=0.013)가 있었으며, 양안시검사값 및 자각적인 증상 또한 현저히 호전되었다. 결론: 시기능훈련은 주시시차곡선의 변화에 영향을 주며 증상 또한 완화하는데 효과가 있었다. 주시시차 곡선은 대상자에 대한 많은 정보를 담고 있으며, 또한 처방의 가이드라인으로 제시될 수 있다.

음주 후 시간경과에 따른 시력의 변화 (Time-dependent Changes of Visual Acuity After Alcohol Ingestion)

  • 목적: 알코올 섭취 후 시간경과에 따른 시력변화를 알아보고자 하였다. 방법: 음주 1시간 및 3시간 후의 자각적 타각적 굴절검사, 원거리 대비감도 검사, 그리고 세막대 입체시 검사를 실시하였다. 결과: 혈중 알코올 농도의 상승과 비례하여 평균 -0.25D ~ -0.35D의 근시성 변화를 일으켰고, 동적입체시 기능이 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 대비감도는 모든 공간주파수에서 큰 변화가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 알코올이 일반적인 시력검사 및 기능검사에 영향을 끼친다는 사실을 숙지하고 피검자의 검사 전 알코올 음용에 대해 문진할 필요성이 있다.

대학생의 안보건 정보경로와 실천률 (Route of the Information and the Practical Rate on Eye-Health for College Students)

  • 목적: 대학생의 안보건 정보습득경로와 실천률에 관한 기초 자료를 얻고자 하였다. 방법: 대학생 292명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하여 통계 분석하였다. 결과: 대학생들은 안보건 정보를 안경원(45.21%), 매스컴(27.74%), 안과 (14.38%)에서 주로 얻었다. 이들 경로의 정보 만족률은 높았으며 특히, 안경원에서의 만족률(85.60%)이 매우 높았다. 시력을 교정한 대학생의 안보건정보습득 경로는 안경원에서가 55.50%로 가장 많았고 시력교정을 하지 않는 대 학생의 안보건 정보습득 경로는 매스컴(43.56%)을 통해서가 가장 많았다. 정보에 대한 실천률은 70.21%로 높았고 안경원에서 정보를 습득한 대학생의 실천률이 76.52%로 매우 높았다. 결론: 대학생들은 안보건 정보를 안경원에서 가장 많이 습득하며 타 경로에 비해 만족률과 실천률이 높았다.

대학신입생 학업동기 향상을 위한 동기유발학기프로그램의 효과성 연구 : K 대학을 중심으로 (Effects of the "Motivation Semester" Program among University Freshmen : Focused on K-University)

  • 본 연구는 K 대학에서 실시한 동기유발학기 프로그램의 효과를 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. K 대학의 동기유발프로그램은 전국 대학 최초로 신입생들의 대학생활 적응과 학업동기 증진을 위해 실시되었다. 4주간 리더십 캠프, 전공몰입교육, 진로탐색 캠프 등의 프로그램이 제공되었다. 프로그램의 효과를 분석하기 위해 프로그램에 참가한 K 대학 병원관리학과 및 사회복지학과 등 4개 학과의 신입생 196명을 대상으로 단일 사전-사후설계(one group pre-post test design)를 실시하였다. 학업동기의 사전, 사후 평균차이에 대해 t-test를 실시한 결과 프로그램 전과 후의 학업동기 평균은 t값 -2.523으로 유의수준(p<.05) 이하에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 이상의 연구결과는 동기유발학기 프로그램이 대학신입생의 학업동기를 증진시키는데 효과적임을 보여준다. 따라서 이러한 대학신입생의 학업동기증진 프로그램의 개발과 확산이 요구된다.

40세 이상 중장년의 대사증후군과 녹내장과의 관련성 연구 -제5기 국민건강영양조사 자료중심으로- (A Relationship Study between Metabolic Syndrome and Glaucoma in a Middle-Aged Men over the Age of 40's -Based on the 5th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey-)

  • Pupose. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between metabolic syndrome and glaucoma in a middle-aged men over the age of 40's by using the data from the 5th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2010~2012). Methods. The subjects for the analysis were comprised of 410 patients who were at least 40 years or more with metabolic syndrome and glaucoma. The comparison between the metabolic syndrome and glaucoma according to the health demographic characteristics, health behavior and health conditions was analyzed with ${\chi}^2$-test. The complex samples logistic regression analysis was used to calculate the odds ratio of glaucoma according to the health demographic characteristics, health behavior and health conditions and the combination of the comprising factors of the metabolic syndrome. Results. The prevalence of glaucoma among the subjects with metabolic syndrome and glaucoma was significantly higher in the case of females, as their age increased, educational level decreased, income level decreased, who are non-smokers, non-drinkers, with exercising habits of less than 3 days a week (p<0.001). However, the glaucoma OR was significantly high in case of increasing age, with exercising habits of less than 3 days a week, and hypertension (p<0.01), while the OR was significantly low in case of the drinking group (p<0.05). The results of analyzing the odds ratio for the occurrence of glaucoma with the components of metabolic syndrome showed that the OR for glaucoma is significantly low (OR 0.63) in case of concurrently high fasting blood glucose, high triglycerides and low HDL cholesterol levels (p=0.05). Conclusions. Therefore the thorough management of metabolic syndrome and components is needed to prevent glaucoma.

한국인 노안 굴절상태 분석 (Analysis of refraction status on the Presbyopia in Korea)

  • Purpose. This study was the analyze the refractive status of presbyopia in Korea. Methods. The subjects was from November 2018 to October 2019, two hundred thirty four subjects( 117 male subjects, 117 female subjects; from 40-year old to 88-year old ) were performed in refraction test using the Auto-Refraction(Speed -K model, Japan). The myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and anisometropia were defined as spherical equivalent(SE)≤-0.50 diopters, SE ≥+1.00 D, cylinder error ≥0.75 D and SE difference≥1.00 D between binocular eyes, respectively. Results. The refractive status by spherical equivalent among all subjects was myopia 61.43%, astigmatism 86.86%, emmetropia 19.18%, anisometropia 12.07%, and hyperopia 18.54. The prevalence of myopia and astigmatism were much more common in male. However, The hyperopia and astigmatism were much more common in female. The prevalence of spherical equivalent was much common from -0.50 diopter to -5.00 diopter. On the other hand, the prevalence of astigmatism and myopia was much more than hyperopia in all subjects. There was a statistical significance between OD and OS of the female and male in the spherical equivalent power(p<.000). However, there was not statical significant between female and male of OD and OS in the spherical equivalent power(p<.070). On the other hand, The prevalence of againest axis in astigmatism was more common in all subjects. In ADD power for the near vision correction, the female was much more diopter than male. Conclusions. These results suggested that the analysis of the refractive status on the presbyopia in Korea can give the useful diagnosis data for the correction of visual acuity at near distance.

Solution to Slow Down Myopia Progression

  • Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of various treatments; bifocal spectacles, orthokeratology, atropine, and time spent in outdoors; in slowing down the myopia progression for Asian adolescents (6-18age). Methods: The research focused on examining the most effective treatment in controlling myopia based on the literature sources that have been published. Through meta-analysis of various research papers that already has been done in this field, a lot of data was collected. For each treatment, the difference in axial length and spherical equivalent over time was measured and recorded. To quantitatively record the difference, both axial length and spherical equivalent was determined by value of control group value of treatment group. The paper compared the effectiveness of each treatment based on the data that was measured. Results: Adolescents who chose to spend time outdoors in order to slow down myopia progression had axial length difference of 0.03 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.17 D. Adolescents that used atropine had axial length difference of 0.36 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.92 D. Bifocal spectacle resulted in axial length difference of 0.21 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.59 D, and for orthokeratology 0.23 mm and 0.04 D, respectively. Axial length wise, myopia was most controlled by the atropine since there was a greatest difference between the group that got the treatment and the group that did not have the treatment. According to the spherical equivalent difference data, myopia was most controlled by atropine. Conclusion: Atropine showed the most effective result in controlling myopia among the four treatment. Again, compared to other three treatment, using atropine appeared to have greatest ability in slowing down myopia progression since adolescents who were treated with atropine had greatest difference from adolescents in the control group that had the same condition but didn't get the treatment. However, every treatment was only used for 2 or 3 years which is quite short time period to measure the long term effect of the four treatments. Also, since atropine is a pharmaceutical method to control myopia, it may harm adolescents' eyes compared to optical or environmental treatment.

총의치와 국소의치 금속의치상용 코발트-크롬 합금과 금속소부도재관용 코발트-크롬 합금의 부식저항성 평가 (Corrosion Resistance Evaluation in the Co-Cr Alloys for the Full and Removable Partial Denture Metal Frameworks and the Porcelain-fused-to-metal Crown)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the corrosion resistance of metal ions of alloys and use the results as the dental health data. These were performed by examining the corrosion levels of Co-Cr alloys for the full and removable partial denture metal frameworks and porcelain-fused-to-metal crown, among the dental casting nonprecious alloys. Methods: The alloy specimens (N = 10) were manufactured in $15mm{\times}10mm{\times}1.2mm$ and stored in two types of corrosive solutions at $37^{\circ}C$ for seven days. The metal ions were quantitatively analyzed using the Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometer. Results: Of the three Co-Cr alloys, the Co ion concentration of the porcelain-fused-to-metal alloy was 1.512 ${\mu}g/cm^2$, which indicated the highest metal ion dissolution. The metal corrosion was higher in the more acidic pH 2.2 solution compared with the pH 4.4 solution. In all three Co-Cr alloys, Co ion dissolution was predominant in the two corrosive solutions. Conclusion: The corrosion resistance of the three Co-Cr alloys was high, indicating a good biocompatibility.

Characterization and Antifungal Activity from Soilborne Streptomyces sp. AM50 towards Major Plant Pathogens

  • BACKGROUND: Chemical fungicides not only may pollute the ecosystem but also can be environmentally hazardous, as the chemicals accumulate in soil. Biological control is a frequently-used environment-friendly alternative to chemical pesticides in phytopathogen management. However, the use of microbial products as fungicides has limitations. This study isolated and characterized a three-antifungal-enzyme (chitinase, cellulase, and ${\beta}$-1,3-glucanase)-producing bacterium, and examined the conditions required to optimize the production of the antifungal enzymes. METHOD AND RESULTS: The antifungal enzymes chitinase, cellulase, and ${\beta}$-1,3-glucanase were produced by bacteria isolated from an sawmill in Korea. Based on the 16S ribosomal DNA sequence analysis, the bacterial strain AM50 was identical to Streptomyces sp. And their antifungal activity was optimized when Streptomyces sp. AM50 was grown aerobically in a medium composed of 0.4% chitin, 0.4% starch, 0.2% ammonium sulfate, 0.11% $Na_2HPO_4$, 0.07% $KH_2PO_4$, 0.0001% $MgSO_4$, and 0.0001% $MnSO_4$ at $30^{\circ}C$. A culture broth of Streptomyces sp. AM50 showed antifungal activity towards the hyphae of plant pathogenic fungi, including hyphae swelling and lysis in P. capsici, factors that may contribute to its suppression of plant pathogenic fungi. CONCLUSION(S): This study demonstrated the multiantifungal enzyme production by Streptomyces sp. AM50 for the biological control of major plant pathogens. Further studies will investigate the synergistic effect, to the growth regulations by biogenic amines and antifungal enzyme gene promoter.

70 mm Eye Relief를 갖는 릴레이 렌즈 방식 스코프 개발 (Development on a Relay Lens Type Scope with 70 mm Eye Relief)

  • 목적: 70 mm eye relief를 갖는 릴레이 렌즈 방식 스코프 개발. 방법: Sigma 2000 광학 설계 프로그램을 사용하여 릴레이 렌즈를 갖는 대물부와 접안부를 각각 설계하고 통합하여 70 mm eye relief를 갖는 릴레이 렌즈 방식의 스코프를 개발하였다. 결과: 릴레이 렌즈를 갖는 대물부와 접안부를 각각 설계하고 통합하는 방법으로 설계 제작되어진 70 mm eye relief를 갖는 릴레이 렌즈 방식의 스코프는 배율이 4.0배, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈까지의 거리가 약 105 mm, 경통구경 18 mm, 유효구경 13 mm를 갖는다. 또한 분해선폭은 30% MTF 값 기준으로 275 cycles/rad인 특성을 보여준다. 결론: 275 cycles/rad 에서 MTF 30% 이상인 성능을 가지며, 첫 번째 렌즈에서 마지막 렌즈까지의 거리 약 105 mm, eye relief 70 mm를 갖는 4.0의 배율을 갖는 릴레이방식의 스코프를 설계 제작하였다.
