  • In this study , Computer programs for the optimum and automation desgin of reinforced concrete box culvert were developed. It was shown that even though the strarting points and optimization method are different the objective function and optimum design variables converge to a value within a close range respectively, and consequently the optimum design program developed in the study is reliable and stron. 3D-design drawing can be drawn using automation desgin computer program developed in this study.

  • An optimum thermal design analysis of the combined cycle power plant with triple pressure heat recovery steam generator was performed by the numerical simulation. The optimum design module used in the paper is DNCONF, a function of IMSL Library, which is widly known as a method to search for the local optimum. The objective function to be minimized is the cost of total power plant including the steam turbine power enhancement premium. The result of this paper shows that the cost reduces if the design point of power plant becomes the local optimum, and many calculations at various initial conditions should be carried out to get the value near the global optimum.

  • Using the design variables and conditions reported in the rut part of this paper, an analysis and optimum design of the tractor-rotary power driveline were carried out. The optimum design method involved 1 variable, 2 variable and multiple variable analysis performed as requested in the design process. In order to evaluate the effects of the design variables on the power transmission performance a sensitivity analysis were also conducted. the results indicated that the length and link point of the upper link, the upper hitch point of the implement master and the location of the implement input connection affect most significantly the driveline performance. The optimum design improved the performance of an exampled tractor-rotary driveline by 93% in terms of cosine ratio.

교대 기초말뚝의 측방유동 판정식에 관한 신뢰성 해석 (Reliability Analysis on the Decision Method of Lateral Flow of Foundation Piles for Abutment)

  • This study conducted the decision method of lateral flow in abutment structures founded on the soft soils and the reliability analysis on the foundation pile for abutment. On the basis of the results, this study proposed the reliability design model. Reliability analysis was conducted by applying second moment method, point estimation method, and expected total cost minimization to lateral movement index, lateral movement decision index, modified lateral movement decision index, and circular failure safety factor for the decision criteria of lateral flow. The reliability index by analysis method had a similar tendency each other. Point estimation method was found as a practical method in the aspect of convenience because it could conduct the analysis only by mean and standard deviation as well as the partial derivative on random variables was not necessary. Optimum reliability index and optimum safety according to increasing in failure factors and load ratio were analyzed and loads and resistance factors of the design criteria of optimum reliability were estimated. It presented rational design model which can consider construction level and stability and economical efficiency overall.

  • 최근 국토의 효율적인 개발을 목적으로 신설도로의 건설이 급증하고 있다. 그러나 우리나라는 경제 개발사업이 시작되면서 국토개발이 활발히 추진됨에 따라 국토의 자연활경에 많은 손상을 가져 왔던 것도 부인할 수 없는 사실이다. 이런 관점에서 본 연구는 도로개발사업시 효율적인 최적노선을 창출하기 위해 연구대상지를 선정하여 종래 방법과 수치지형모형방법으로 구분하고 최적노선 선정시 현황지형, 토공량 변화에 따른 예측지형 및 주변경관해석의 한 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 수치지형모형으로 노선계획시 토공량변화에 따른 예측지형 및 경관도를 작성할 경우 종래 조감도 및 투시도 방법보다 입체적이고 시각적이며, 대상지의 다양한 지형인자를 삽입하면 최적 노선선정시 토공량산정, 종·횡단면도 작성, 경관도, 조경도 등 모든 노선계획의 수치화가 가능하므로 도로 건설사업시 그 활용도가 기대된다.

  • Because Seaming process of MPJ (Mechanical Press Joining) has various design factors such as thickness, bending radius, seaming width, caulking press width and the dynamic factor such as multistage plastic working, elastic recovery, residual stress, the optimum conditions can't be easily determined. Using a design of experiment based on the FEM, which has several advantages such as less computing, high accuracy performance and usefulness, this study was performed investigating the interaction effect between the various design factor as well as the main effect of the each design factor during drum MPJ and proposed optimum condition using center composition method among response surface derived from regression equation of simulation-based DOE.

  • In a spread spectrum system, the bandwidth and period of spreading code is wide and long, respectively. So it is necessary to make the code acquisition time as short as possible. In particular, serial search code acquisition system requires optimum dwell time for fast acquisition. In this paper, code acquisition time is calculated by varying dwell time. Among them, minimum code acquisition time is chosen and then optimum dwell time can be obtained. Detection probability (P$_{D}$) and false alarm probability (P$_{FA}$) can be obtained by integrating chi-square pdf by numerical analysis. The results are compared with that of gaussian approximation method and then it is concluded gaussian approximation method is not suitable for obtaining optimum dwell time. Computer simulation supports theoretical results.

  • This paper presents an optimum design of rotor-bearing system using a hybrid method to compute the solutions of optimization problem. The present hybrid algorithm, namely Enhanced Artificial Life Algorithm(EALA), is a synthesis of an artificial life algorithm(ALA) and the random tabu search(R-tabu) method. We applied EALA to the optimum design of rotor-shaft system supported by the floating ring journal bearings. (omitted)

  • MDO (Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) methodology is an emerging new technology to solve a complicate structural analysis and design problem with a large number of design variables and constraints. In this paper MDO methodology is adopted through the use of computer aided systems such as Geometric Solid Modeller, Mesh Generator, CAD system and CAE system. And this paper introduces MDO methodology as a new method for structural analysis and design through the application to the structural design of flap drive system. In a MDO methodology application to the structural design of flap drive system, kinetodynamic analysis is done using a simple aerodynamic analysis model for the air flow over the flap surface instead of difficult aerodynamic analysis. Simultaneously the structural static analysis is done to obtain the optimum structural condition. And the structural buckling analysis for push pull rod is also done to confirm the optimum structural condition (optimum cross section shape of push pull rod).

  • A method of determining an optimum blank shape for the non circular deep drawing process is more investigated and applied to the balnk design for multi-stage deep drawn product. The forming procedure of two-stage deep drawing process is looked over and the method of determining a blank shape is proposed. In experimental research, a optimum blank and a optional rectangular blank were considered and we measured thickness strain distributions. We could predict a strain distribution and compare with a experimental strain distribution. Also, the strain distributions for the blank shapes, optimum and rectangular, were compared.
