There is an over head hoist transporter(OHT) by the system for delivering the wafer in semiconductor processing. The transfer system consist of carrier, vehicle, rail and support. The Tail supporting the wafer and the transfer system should maintain enough strength and stiffness. To achieve lightness and enough strength and stiffness, optimization algorithm should be introduced in design process. In this study, two kinds of section shapes as L-type, C-type is carried out the structure analysis and optimization. Total weight of rail is to be minimized while displacement should not exceed limit. To improve the initial model, topology optimization is done by the plain problem. Size optimization is done with 3D solid element and PLBA algorithm, the RQP algorithm. The weight of optimum model as L-type, C-type is decreased by 2.3%, 10% respectively. It is improved better than the initial model in the strength and stiffness of the structure.

In ad hoc network, the scarce energy management of the mobile devices has become a critical issue in order to extend the network lifetime. Current research activity for the Minimum Energy Multicast (MEM) problem has been focused on devising efficient centralized greedy algorithms for static ad hoc networks. In this paper, we consider mobile ad hoc networks(MANETs) that could provide the reliable monitoring and control of a variety of environments for remote place. Mobility of MANET would require the topology change frequently compared with a static network. To improve the routing protocol in MANET, energy efficient routing protocol would be required as well as considering the mobility would be needed. In this paper, we propose a new method, the CACH(Context-aware Clustering Hierarchy) algorithm, a hybrid and clustering-based protocol that could analyze the link cost from a source node to a destination node. The proposed analysis could help in defining the optimum depth of hierarchy architecture CACH utilize. The proposed CACH could use localized condition to enable adaptation and robustness for dynamic network topology protocol and this provide that our hierarchy to be resilient. As a result, our simulation results would show that CACH could find energy efficient depth of hierarchy of a cluster.

This paper presents the methodology for optimal design of power grid for offshore wind power plant (OWPP) and optimum location of offshore substation. The proposed optimization process is based on a genetic algorithm, where the objective cost model is composed of investment, power loss, repair, and reliability cost using the net present value during the whole OWPP life cycle. A probability wind power output is modeled to reflect the characteristics of a wind power plant that produces electricity through wind and to calculate the reliability cost called expected energy not supplied. The main objective is to find the minimum cost for grid connection topology by submarine cables which cannot cross each other. Cable crossing was set as a constraint in the optimization algorithm of grid topology of the wind power plant. On the basis of this method, a case study is conducted to validate the model by simulating a 100-MW OWF.

Among the ULSAB methods for the lightweight automobile body, Tailor Welded Blank(TWB) is adopted and the design process is developed for the existing component. Topology optimization conducted to find the distribution of the variable thickness. The number of parts and the welding lines are determined from it. In the detail design, size optimization is carried out to find the optimum thickness of each part and then, the final parting lines are tuned by shape optimization. A commercial optimization software GENESIS is utilized for the optimization processes.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a wireless network that gathers information from remote area with autonomously configured routing path. We propose a fusion based routing for a 'convergecast' in which all sensors periodically forward collected data to a base station. Previous researches dealt with only full-fusion or no-fusion case. Our Fusion rate based Spanning Tree (FST) can provide effective routing topology in terms of total cost according to all ranges of fusion rate f ($0{\leq}f{\leq}1$). FST is optimum for convergecast in case of no-fusion (f = 0) and full-fusion (f = 1) and outperforms the Shortest Path spanning Tree (SPT) or Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) for any range of f (0 < f < 1). Simulation of 100-node WSN shows that the total length of FST is shorter than MST and SPT nearby 31% and 8% respectively in terms of topology lengths for all range of f. As a result, we confirmed that FST is a very useful WSN topology.

This paper propose a survivable communication network design process using node degree that augments the usual traffic flow and cost analyses with previously ignored topological survivability and computing time considerations. At first, decide a initial topology, and then measure a throughput of network. If the throughput is smaller than the required traffic, add edge to the optimum place by using minimum node degree and link distance. Otherwise, drop useless edge by using maximum node degree, link distance and link utilization. This process is repeated until throughput equals to the required traffics. This Process designs a survivable communication network with the minimized cost and computing time and usual traffic flow. The design proceses that minimized computing time are freely select initial topology and easily design a large network. And these results of algorithm are compared with the Kris and Pramod's in order to analyses the perfmance of the designed network.

This study examines the optimum shape of a trolley, the driving device of the retractable membrane roof. The closed-type trolley was determined as the model of the study, and a trolley composed of cylindrical-shaped inner and outer holders was selected as the basic model. Based on this model, a cylindrical-based optimal trolley model was proposed. In the basic trolley model, steel was used for the outer holder, and steel, titanium, and aluminum were used for the inner holder. In each case, the most economical shape for the external load of the basic model was newly proposed through the topology optimization process, and the finite element analysis results of the proposed model were compared to define the durability and economics. Here, topology optimization analysis and finite element analysis used the commercial software ANSYS. As a result of optimization, the volume of the outer holder of the trolley was reduced by 58.2% and the volume of the inner holder was reduced by 25.0% compared to the basic model. In the case of stress, a stress increase of 43.2 to 79.2% occurred depending on the material of the inner holder, but it was found to be significantly lower than the yield strength, thereby ensuring safety.
Manufacturing of complex surface plates in stern and stem is a major factor in cost of a preliminary ship design by computing process. If these hull plate parts are effectively classified, it helps to compute the processing cost and find the way to cut-down the processing cost. This paper presents a new method to classify surface plates effectively in the preliminary ship design using neural network. A neural-network-based ship hull plate classification program was developed and tested for the automatic classification of ship design. The input variables are regarded as Gaussian curvature distributions on the plate. Various applicable rules of network topology are applied in the ship design. In automation of hull plate classification, two different numbers of input variables are used. By observing the results of the proposed method, the effectiveness of the proposed method is discussed. As a result, high prediction rate was achieved in the ship design. Accordingly, to the initial design stage, the ship hull plate classification program can be used to predict the ship production cost. And the proposed method will contribute to reduce the production cost of ship.
