Stereo correspondence is the central problem of stereo vision. In this paper, we propose a stereo matching scheme based on a genetic algorithm using a multi-resolution method and AD-Census. The proposed approach considers the matching environment as an optimization problem and finds the disparity by using a genetic algorithm And adaptive chronosome structure using edge pixels and crossover mechanism are employed in this technique. A cost function is composes of certain constraints whice are commonly used in stereo matching. AD-Census measure is applied to reduce disparity error. To increase the efficiency of process, we apply image pyramid method to stereo matching and calculate the initial disparity map at the coarsest resolution. Then initial disparity map is propagated to the next finer resolution, interpolated and performed disparity refinement using local feature vector. We valid our method not only reduces the search time for correspondence compared with conventional GA-based method but also ensures the validity of matching.

In this paper, it would be shown that individuals can have different responses to the same email based on their preferences through computing the distributions of user clusters' email responses from clustering results based on email users' preference information. This paper presents an approach that incorporates user preferences to construct an anti-spam mail system, which is different from the conventional content-based ones. We consider email category information derived from the email content as well as user preference information. We also build a user preference ontology to formally represent the important concepts and rules derived from a data mining process and then apply a rule optimization procedure to exclude unnecessary rules. Experimental results show that our user preference based system achieves good performance in terms of accuracy, the rules derived from the system and human comprehensibility.

With the rapid distribution and active usage of the Internet, information search and retrieval through Internet has become a primary form of information access. This ubiquity of information access through Internet means the increased significance of search performance offered by Internet portals, since the optimization of search performance by portal has strong implication for the effective access of information through Internet in general. In this context, this paper investigates the classification scheme used in the directory service of internet portals, which provides selected and organized access to Internet information. First, the author analyzes the deployment of directory classification of standard subdivision topics used in traditional library classification system, with emphasis on the table composed of the form and approach, which are applicable to diverse subject areas. Then, based on this analysis, he proposed a method of applying certain subdivisions of the standard subdivision to directory service of Internet portals.

In this study, a release test bed is designed to evaluate the dynamic behaviors of a coil spring. From the release tests, the dynamic behaviors of a coil spring are analyzed. A lumped parameter spring model was established for numerical simulation of a spring. The design variables of a coil spring are optimized by using the design of experiments approach. Two-level factorial designs are used for the design optimization, and the primary effects of the design variables are analyzed. Based on the results of the interaction analysis and design sensitivity analysis, the level of the design variables is rearranged. Finally, the mixed-level factorial design is used for the optimum design process. According to the optimum design of the opening spring, the dynamic performance of the spring-operated mechanism increases by 2.90.

Network virtualization promises to play a dominant role in shaping the future Internet by overcoming the Internet ossification problem. However, due to the injecting of additional virtualization layers into the network architecture, several new security risks are introduced by the network virtualization. Although traditional protection mechanisms can help in virtualized environment, they are not guaranteed to be successful and may incur high security overheads. By performing the virtual network (VN) embedding in a security-aware way, the risks exposed to both the virtual and substrate networks can be minimized, and the additional techniques adopted to enhance the security of the networks can be reduced. Unfortunately, existing embedding algorithms largely ignore the widespread security risks, making their applicability in a realistic environment rather doubtful. In this paper, we attempt to address the security risks by integrating the security factors into the VN embedding. We first abstract the security requirements and the protection mechanisms as numerical concept of security demands and security levels, and the corresponding security constraints are introduced into the VN embedding. Based on the abstraction, we develop three security-risky modes to model various levels of risky conditions in the virtualized environment, aiming at enabling a more flexible VN embedding. Then, we present a mixed integer linear programming formulation for the VN embedding problem in different security-risky modes. Moreover, we design three heuristic embedding algorithms to solve this problem, which are all based on the same proposed node-ranking approach to quantify the embedding potential of each substrate node and adopt the k-shortest path algorithm to map virtual links. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of our algorithms.

Mobile IP (MIP) is the solution supporting the mobility of Mobile Nodes (MNs), however, it is known to lack the support for NEtwork MObility (NEMO). NEMO manages situations when an entire network, composed of one or more subnets, dynamically changes its point of attachment to the Internet. NEMO Basic Support (NBS) protocol ensures session continuity for all the nodes in a mobile network, however, there exists a serious pinball routing problem. To overcome this weakness, there are many Route Optimization (RO) solutions such as Bi-directional Tunneling (BT) mechanism, Aggregation and Surrogate (A&S) mechanism, Recursive Approach, etc. The A&S RO mechanism is known to outperform the other RO mechanisms, except for the Binding Update (BU) cost. Although Improved Prefix Delegation (IPD) reduces the cost problem of Prefix Delegation (PD), a well-known A&S protocol, the BU cost problem still presents, especially when a large number of Mobile Routers (MRs) and MNs exist in the environment such as train, bus, ship, or aircraft. In this paper, a solution to reduce the cost of delivering the BU messages is proposed using a multicast mechanism instead of unicasting such as the traditional BU of the RO. The performance of the proposed multicast-based BU scheme is examined with an analytical model which shows that the BU cost enhancement is up to 32.9% over IPDbased, hence, it is feasible to predict that the proposed scheme could benefit in other NEMO RO protocols.

PURPOSES : The Toll Collection System (TCS) operated by the Korea Expressway Corporation provides accurate traffic counts between tollgates within the expressway network under the closed-type toll collection system. However, although origin-destination (OD) matrices for a travel demand model can be constructed using these traffic counts, these matrices cannot be directly applied because it is technically difficult to determine appropriate passenger car equivalent (PCE) values for the vehicle types used in TCS. Therefore, this study was initiated to systematically determine the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types for the travel demand model. METHODS : To search for the appropriate PCE values of TCS vehicle types, a traffic demand model based on TCS-based OD matrices and the expressway network was developed. Using the traffic demand model and a genetic algorithm, the appropriate PCE values were optimized through an approach that minimizes errors between actual link counts and estimated link volumes. RESULTS : As a result of the optimization, the optimal PCE values of TCS vehicle types 1 and 5 were determined to be 1 and 3.7, respectively. Those of TCS vehicle types 2 through 4 are found in the manual for the preliminary feasibility study. CONCLUSIONS : Based on the given vehicle delay functions and network properties (i.e., speeds and capacities), the travel demand model with the optimized PCE values produced a MAPE value of 37.7%, RMSE value of 17124.14, and correlation coefficient of 0.9506. Conclusively, the optimized PCE values were revealed to produce estimates of expressway link volumes sufficiently close to actual link counts.

Roxithromycin (RXT), which is an antibiotic used to treat respiratory tract and urinary infections, is official in Korean Pharmacopoeia (KP) and is marketed in various dosage forms including tablet, granule, suspension, and tablet for suspension in Korea. This study presents how a universal and reliable method to quantify RXT in bulk drug and formulations was developed. Effects of factors including column type, buffer concentration, type and concentration of organic solvent, buffer pH, and type and concentration of mobile phase additive, were examined, and some categorical or crucial factors including the types of column, organic solvent, mobile phase additive and the buffer pH were optimized by one-factor-at-a-time approach. Subsequently, concentrations of the buffer and additive and column temperature were optimized by response surface methodology using Box-Behnken design aiming to acquire the RXT peak of good shape. The optimized method employed a Phenomenex Gemini $5{\mu}$ C18 110A ($150{\times}4.60mm$, $5{\mu}m$) maintained at $30^{\circ}C$ with the mobile phase consisting of 25 mM phosphate buffer (pH 6.0) with 0.3 % tetrabutylammonium hydroxide and methanol at a ratio of 37:63 (v/v). Method validation results showed that the developed method was linear, precise, and accurate. Compared to the compendial methods in KP 10 that exhibited a significant tailing of the RXT peak despite using unfavorably high buffer concentrations and were not harmonized among bulk drug and formulations, this method could be universally applied to RXT bulk drug and marketed products in various dosage forms and thus was adopted in KP 11.
In recent years, methanol has attracted much attention since it can be cleanly manufactured by the combined use of atmospheric $CO_2$ recycling and water splitting via renewable energy. For the concept of "methanol economy", an active methanol synthesis catalyst should be prepared in a sophisticated manner rather than by empirical optimization approach. Even though Cu/ZnO-based catalysts prepared by coprecipitation are well known and have been extensively investigated even for a century, fundamental understanding on the precipitation chemistry and catalyst nanostructure has recently been achieved due to complexity of the necessary preparation steps such as precipitation, ageing, filtering, washing, drying, calcination and reduction. Herein we review the recent reports regarding the effects of various synthesis variables in each step on the physicochemical properties of materials in precursor, calcined and reduced states. The relationship between these characteristics and the catalytic performance will also be discussed because many variables in each step strongly influence the final catalytic activity, called "chemical memory". All discussion focuses on how to prepare a highly active Cu/ZnO-based catalyst for methanol synthesis. Furthermore, the preparation strategy we deliver here would be utilized for designing other coprecipitation-derived supported metal or metal oxide catalysts.

This study conducted a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) analysis to find an appropriate diameter or sectional area of air ducts and fluid pipes which have an electromagnetic pulse(EMP) shied to protect indoor electronic devices in special buildings like military fortifications. The result shows that the optimized outdoor air intake size can be defined with either the ratio of the maximum air velocity in the supply duct to the air intake size, or the shape ratio of indoor supply diffuser to the outdoor air intake. In the case of water channel, the fluid velocity at EMP shield with the identical size of the pipe, decreases by 25% in average due to the resistance of the shield. The enlargement of diameter at the shield, 2 step, improves the fluid flow. It illustrated that the diameter of downstream pipe size is 1step larger than the upstream for providing the design flow rate. The shield increases friction and resistance, in the case of oil pipe, so the average flow velocity at the middle of the shield increase by 50% in average. In consideration of the fluid viscosity, the oil pipe should be enlarged 4 or 5 step from the typical design configuration. Therefore, the fluid channel size for air, water, and oil, should be reconsidered by the engineering approach when EMP shield is placed in the middle of channel.
