선박 구조물의 진동 최적화를 위한 비선형 정수 계획법의 적용 (Application of Nonlinear Integer Programming for Vibration Optimization of Ship Structure)

  • In this paper, we present a non-linear integer programming by genetic algorithm (GA) for available sizes of stiffener or thickness of plate in a job site. GA can rapidly search for the approximate global optimum under complicated design environment such as ship. Meanwhile it can handle the optimization problem involving discrete design variable. However, there are many parameters have to be set for GA, which greatly affect the accuracy and calculation time of optimum solution. The setting process is hard for users, and there are no rules to decide these parameters. In order to overcome these demerits, the optimization for these parameters has been also conducted using GA itself. Also it is proved that the parameters are optimal values by the trial function. Finally, we applied this method to compass deck of ship where the vibration problem is frequently occurred to verify the validity and usefulness of nonlinear integer programming.

Crack identification based on Kriging surrogate model

  • Kriging surrogate model provides explicit functions to represent the relationships between the inputs and outputs of a linear or nonlinear system, which is a desirable advantage for response estimation and parameter identification in structural design and model updating problem. However, little research has been carried out in applying Kriging model to crack identification. In this work, a scheme for crack identification based on a Kriging surrogate model is proposed. A modified rectangular grid (MRG) is introduced to move some sample points lying on the boundary into the internal design region, which will provide more useful information for the construction of Kriging model. The initial Kriging model is then constructed by samples of varying crack parameters (locations and sizes) and their corresponding modal frequencies. For identifying crack parameters, a robust stochastic particle swarm optimization (SPSO) algorithm is used to find the global optimal solution beyond the constructed Kriging model. To improve the accuracy of surrogate model, the finite element (FE) analysis soft ANSYS is employed to deal with the re-meshing problem during surrogate model updating. Specially, a simple method for crack number identification is proposed by finding the maximum probability factor. Finally, numerical simulations and experimental research are performed to assess the effectiveness and noise immunity of this proposed scheme.

Adaptive Cooperative Spectrum Sharing Based on Fairness and Total Profit in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • A cooperative model is presented to enable sharing of the spectrum with secondary users. Compared with the optimal model and competitive model, the cooperative model could reach the maximum total profit for secondary users with better fairness. The cooperative model is built based on the Nash equilibrium. Then a conceding factor is introduced so that the total spectrum required from secondary users will decrease. It also results in a decrease in cost which the primary user charges to the secondary users. The optimum solution, which is the maximum total profit for the secondary users, is called the collusion state. It is possible that secondary users may leave the collusion state to pursue the maximum of individual profit. The stability of the algorithm is discussed by introducing a vindictive factor to inhabit the motive of deviation. In practice, the number of secondary users may change. Adaptive methods have been used to deal with the changing number of secondary users. Both the total profit and fairness are considered in the spectrum allocating. The shared spectrum is 11.3893 with a total profit of 65.2378 in the competitive model. In the cooperative model, the shared spectrum is 8.5856 with the total profit of 73.4963. The numerical results reveal the effectiveness of the cooperative model.

Evaluation of the Use of Guard Nodes for Securing the Routing in VANETs

  • We address the problem of effective vehicular routing in hostile scenarios where malicious nodes intend to jeopardize the delivery of messages. Compromised vehicles can severely affect the performance of the network by a number of attacks, such as selectively dropping messages, manipulating them on the fly, and the likes. One of the best performing solutions that has been used in static wireless sensor networks to deal with these attacks is based on the concept of watchdog nodes (also known as guard nodes) that collaborate to continue the forwarding of data packets in case a malicious behavior in a neighbor node is detected. In this work, we consider the beacon-less routing algorithm for vehicular environments routing protocol, which has been previously shown to perform very well in vehicular networks, and analyze whether a similar solution would be feasible for vehicular environments. Our simulation results in an urban scenario show that watchdog nodes are able to avoid up to a 50% of packet drops across different network densities and for different number of attackers, without introducing a significant increase in terms of control overhead. However, the overall performance of the routing protocol is still far from optimal. Thus, in the case of vehicular networks, watchdog nodes alone are not able to completely alleviate these security threats.

  • This paper presents a simple and cost-effective stand-alone rapid battery charging system of 30kW for electric vehicles. The proposed system mainly consists of active front-end rectifier of neutral point clamped 3-level type and non-isolated bi-directional dc-dc converter of multi-phase interleaved half-bridge topology. The charging system is designed to operate for both lithium-polymer and lithium-ion batteries. The complete charging sequence is made up of three sub-interval operating modes; pre-charging mode, constant-current mode, and constant-voltage mode. Each mode is operated according to battery states: voltage, current and State of Charging (SOC). The proposed system is able to reach the full-charge state within less than 16min for the battery capacity of 8kWh by supplying the charging current of 67A. The optimal discharging algorithm for Vehicle to the Grid (V2G) operation has been adopted to maintain the discharging current of 1C. Owing to the simple and compact power conversion scheme, the proposed solution has superior module-friendly mechanical structure which is absolutely required to realize flexible power expansion capability in a very high-current rapid charging system. Experiment waveforms confirm the proposed functionality of the charging system.

Research on Facility Layout of Prefabricated Building Construction Site

  • Due to the high degree of mechanization and the good environmental benefits, the prefabricated buildings are being promoted in China. The construction site layout of the prefabricated buildings has important influence on its safety benefit. However, few scholars have studied the safety problem on it. Firstly, in order to give a follow-up study foreshadowing the characteristics of prefabricated buildings are analyzed, the research assumptions are given and three types of safety buffers are established. And then a mult-objective model for the prefabricated buildings site layout is presented: taking into account the limits of noise, the coverage of the tower crane and the possibility of exceeding boundaries and overlapping, the constraints are and designed established respectively; Based on the improved System Layout Planning (SLP) method, the efficiency\cost\safety interaction matrices among the facilities are also founded for objective function. For the sake of convenience, a hypothetical facility layout case of the prefabricated building is used, the optimal solution of that is obtained in MATLAB with particle swarm algorithm (PSO), which proves the effectiveness of the model presented in this paper.

  • 무인 항공기(UAV) 지원 중계는 분포가 쉽고 통신 채널이 양호하며, 이동성이 뛰어나 기존 지상 중계에 비해 높은 무선 연결성을 가질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 주파수(RF) 대역을 활용하여 소스로부터 에너지를 수확하고 테라헤르츠(THz) 대역을 활용하여 2차 송신기와 해당 수신기 간에 정보를 전송할 수 있는 UAV 지원 중계 네트워크를 설계한다. 그 후, 릴레이 채널 용량을 최대화하는 UAV의 최적 위치를 결정하기 위한 최적화 문제의 해를 유도하고, 유도된 해를 활용하여 두 가지 UAV 궤적(직선 궤적과 타원 궤적)을 설계하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 제안된 알고리즘은 UAV 직선 궤도가 수확된 에너지 및 채널 용량 측면에서 더 나은 시스템 성능을 제공할 수 있음을 보여준다.

Analyzing the Influence of Spatial Sampling Rate on Three-dimensional Temperature-field Reconstruction

  • In aerospace and energy engineering, the reconstruction of three-dimensional (3D) temperature distributions is crucial. Traditional methods like algebraic iterative reconstruction and filtered back-projection depend on voxel division for resolution. Our algorithm, blending deep learning with computer graphics rendering, converts 2D projections into light rays for uniform sampling, using a fully connected neural network to depict the 3D temperature field. Although effective in capturing internal details, it demands multiple cameras for varied angle projections, increasing cost and computational needs. We assess the impact of camera number on reconstruction accuracy and efficiency, conducting butane-flame simulations with different camera setups (6 to 18 cameras). The results show improved accuracy with more cameras, with 12 cameras achieving optimal computational efficiency (1.263) and low error rates. Verification experiments with 9, 12, and 15 cameras, using thermocouples, confirm that the 12-camera setup as the best, balancing efficiency and accuracy. This offers a feasible, cost-effective solution for real-world applications like engine testing and environmental monitoring, improving accuracy and resource management in temperature measurement.

운전자 주행 특성 모사를 위한 트랙 한계 자율 주행 차량의 거동 계획 알고리즘 (Motion Planning of Autonomous Racing Vehicles for Mimicking Human Driver Characteristics)

  • This paper presents a motion planning algorithm of autonomous racing vehicles for mimicking the characteristics of a human driver. Time optimal maneuver of a race car has been actively studied as a major research area over the past decades. Although the time optimization problem yields a single time series solution of minimum time maneuver inputs for the vehicle, human drivers achieve similar lap times while taking various racing lines and velocity profiles. In order to model the characteristics of a specific driver and reproduce the motion, a stochastic motion planning framework based on kernelized motion primitive is introduced. The proposed framework imitates the behavior of the generated reference motion, which is based on a small number of human demonstration laps along the racetrack using Gaussian mixture model and Gaussian mixture regression. The mean and covariance of the racing line and velocity profile mimicking the driver are obtained by accumulating the outputs tested at equidistantly sampled input points. The results confirmed that the obtained lateral and longitudinal motion simulates the driver's driving characteristics, which are feasible for actual vehicle test environments.

  • 도로망(道路網)의 신설(新設) 및 개량사업(改良事業)의 적정화(適正化)를 위하여, 연속적(連續的) 설계변수(設計變數)를 채택(採擇)한 가로망(街路網) 설계기법(設計技法)을 제시(提示)하였다. 이를 위하여 수정(修正)된 Hooke-and-Jeeves 알고리듬을 사용(使用)함으로써, 통행시간(通行時間) 및 통행비용(通行費用)과 도로건설비용(道路建設費用)의 합(合)으로 구성(構成)되는 가로망(街路網) 설계문제(設計問題)의 해(解)를 풀었다. 여러 가지 형태(形態)의 건설비용함수(建設費用凾數)와 초기해(初期解)의 위치(位置), 도로구간별(道路區間別) 개선정도(改善程度)의 초기치별(初期値別)로 이 기법(技法)의 적용도(適用度)를 검토(檢討)하였다. 본(本) 논문(論文)의 연구결과(硏究結果), 가로망(街路網) 설계(設計)의 평가회수(評價回數)를 크게 줄였으며, 효율적(効率的)인 초기해(初期解), 초기용량증감치(初期容量增減値), 근사기법(近似技法) 등이 제시(提示)되었다.
