고속 세틀링과 고정밀 위치 제어를 위한 모드 변경 제어 기법 (A New Mode Switching Control for Fast Settling and High Precision Positioning)

  • Recently, with rapid development of digital media like semiconductor and large flat panel display, the manufacturing equipment is required to have high precision over large travel range. Moreover it should have high product throughput. To achieve high product throughput, a controller should perform fast point-to-point motion and high precision positioning after settling in spite of external disturbances or residual vibrations. We proposed a new mode switching control algorithm with an application to dual stage for long range and high precision positioning. The proposed algorithm uses a proximate time-optimal servomechanism for the fast settling and a time-delay controller for the high precision positioning. Experimental results show that the proposed method enables smooth mode switching and improves the settling time and the precision accuracy after settling by over than 33% and 45%, respectively.

보리등겨 가루 첨가가 식빵의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Barley Bran Flour Addition on the Quality of Bread)

  • 본 연구는 식이섬유가 풍부하게 함유된 보리등겨 가루를 빵 제조에 첨가하여 식이섬유가 강화된 빵을 개발 하고자 하였다. 빵의 일반성분은 보리등겨 첨가량이 증가할수록 조단백과 회분 등의 함량이 증가하였으며, 색차는 빵의 내부와 외부에서 똑같이 보리등겨의 함량이 증가할수록 색차가 대조구에 비해 어두워졌다. 식이섬유함량은 보리등겨 가루가 5% 첨가된 빵에서 대조구에 비해 2배 이상 많은 것으로 확인되었다. 빵의 texture특징으로 보리등겨 가루가 첨가될수록 빵이 단단해졌으며 빵의 부피가 감소되었다. 관능평가를 통해 5%의 보리등겨 가루 첨가구는 대조구인 밀가루만을 이용한 빵과 그 유의차가 크지 않았으나, 10%와 15%는 관능평가 점수가 낮아지는 것을 보여 주어 보리등겨를 첨가한 빵 제조시 보리등겨 가루의 첨가량은 5% 정도까지가 적정량임을 알 수 있었다.

Circuit-Switched “Network Capacity” under QoS Constraints

  • Usually the network-throughput maximization problem for constant-bit-rate (CBR) circuit-switched traffic is posed for a fixed offered load profile. Then choices of routes and of admission control policies are sought to achieve maximum throughput (usually under QoS constraints). However, similarly to the notion of channel “capacity,” it is also of interest to determine the “network capacity;” i.e., for a given network we would like to know the maximum throughput it can deliver (again subject to specified QoS constraints) if the appropriate traffic load is supplied. Thus, in addition to determining routes and admission controls, we would like to specify the vector of offered loads between each source/destination pair that “achieves capacity.” Since the combined problem of choosing all three parameters (i.e., offered load, admission control, and routing) is too complex to address, we consider here only the optimal determination of offered load for given routing and admission control policies. We provide an off-line algorithm, which is based on Lagrangian techniques that perform robustly in this rigorously formulated nonlinear optimization problem with nonlinear constraints. We demonstrate that significant improvement is obtained, as compared with simple uniform loading schemes, and that fairness mechanisms can be incorporated with little loss in overall throughput.

SQUIRREL SEARCH PID CONTROLLER ALGORITHM BASED ACTIVE QUEUE MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUE FOR TCP COMMUNICATION NETWORKS

  • Active queue management (AQM) is a leading congestion control system, which can keep smaller queuing delay, less packet loss with better network utilization and throughput by intentionally dropping the packets at the intermediate hubs in TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) networks. To accelerate the responsiveness of AQM framework, proportional-integral-differential (PID) controllers are utilized. In spite of its simplicity, it can effectively take care of a range of complex problems; however it is a lot complicated to track down optimal PID parameters with conventional procedures. A few new strategies have been grown as of late to adjust the PID controller parameters. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed a Squirrel search based PID controller to dynamically find its controller gain parameters for AQM. The controller gain parameters are decided based on minimizing the integrated-absolute error (IAE) in order to ensure less packet loss, high link utilization and a stable queue length in favor of TCP networks.

  • The design of mechanical structures aims to meet criteria, together with the safety of operators and lives in the vicinity of the equipment. Thus, there are several cases that meeting the desired specification causes the mechanical device to perform unstable and, sometimes, chaotic behavior. In these cases, control methods are applied in order to stabilize the device when in operation, aiming at the physical integrity of the component and the device operators. In this work, we will develop a study about the influence of a controller applied in a non-ideal capsule system operating with uncertain parameters, being non-existent in the literature. For this, two initial conditions were used: one that the capsule starts from rest and another that it is already in motion. Thus, the effectiveness of the controller can be assessed in both initial conditions, restricting the movement of the internal vibration-impact system to the capsule.

CNN-LSTM 기반의 자율주행 기술 (CNN-LSTM based Autonomous Driving Technology)

  • 본 연구는 딥러닝의 합성곱과 순환신경망 네트워크를 기반으로 시각센서를 이용해 속도(Throttle)와 조향(Steering) 제어 기술을 제안한다. 학습 트랙을 시계, 반시계 방향으로 주행하며 카메라 영상 이미지와 조종 값 데이터를 수집하고 효율적인 학습을 위해 데이터 샘플링, 전처리 과정을 거쳐 Throttle과 Steering을 예측하는 모델을 생성한다. 이후 학습에 사용되지 않은 다른 환경의 테스트 트랙을 통해 검증을 진행하여 최적의 모델을 찾고 이를 CNN(Convolutional Neural Network)과 비교하였다. 그 결과 제안하는 딥러닝 모델의 성능이 뛰어남을 확인했다.

  • 최근 모바일 기기의 사용 급증에 따라 모바일 애드혹 네트워크(MANET, Mobile Ad-hoc Networks)에서 사용하는 모바일 P2P(Peer to Peer)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 그에 대한 연구도 활발히 이루어지고 있다. P2P 방식은 구조적인(Structured) P2P 방식과 비구조적인(Unstructured) P2P 방식으로 분류할 수 있다. 모바일 애드혹 네트워크에서 구조적인 방식의 P2P 알고리즘은 정보의 인접성을 고려하지 않아 컨트롤 트래픽이 증가하는 문제가 있으며, 비구조적인 방식의 P2P 알고리즘은 노드 수가 많아질 경우 확장성에 문제가 있다. 그래서 구조적인 방식의 P2P 알고리즘과 비구조적인 방식의 P2P 알고리즘의 장점을 취합한 하이브리드(Hybrid) 방식의 P2P 알고리즘이 제안 되었다. 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 P2P 방식 중 클러스터 기반(Cluster-based)의 P2P 알고리즘의 컨트롤 트래픽을 분석하고, 이에 관한 최적 클러스터 구성을 도출하였다. 이러한 최적 클러스터 구성 사용시, 비구조적인 방식의 P2P 알고리즘 중 대표적인 Gnutella 보다 더 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 보였다.

Effects of Bedding Material Composition in Deep Litter Systems on Bedding Characteristics and Growth Performance of Limousin Calves

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of different litter mixture compositions on bedding system temperature, pH and volatile fatty acid and ammonia-N ($NH_3$-N) content, and the serum physico-chemical parameters and growth indices of calves. Thirty-two Limousin calves ($280{\pm}20kg$) were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 8 for each group) according to the bedding system used: i) control with soil only (CTR); ii) mixture with 50% paddy hulls (PH), 30% saw dusts (SD), 10% peat moss (PM) and 10% corn cobs (CC) (TRT1); iii) mixture with 15% PH, 15% SD, 10% PM, 40% CC, and 20% corn stover (CS) (TRT2); iv) mixture with 30% PH, 10% PM, 40% CC, and 20% CS (TRT3). The litter material combinations of different treatments were based on the cost of bedding system materials in China. The cost of four treatments from low to high: Control$NH_3$-N level (271.83 to 894.72 mg/kg) was lowest for TRT1 (p<0.0001) and highest for TRT2 (p<0.0001). The acetate, propionate and butyrate levels were highest for the control group (p<0.0001). In all the groups, the pH value (6.90 to 9.09) increased at the beginning and later remained stable at below 9.09. The temperature of deep litter increased at the first week and reached the maximum ($42.1^{\circ}C$) on day 38. 3,5,3'-Triiodothyronine ($T_3$) levels in the TRT1 group animals (p<0.0001) were lower than those in the control and TRT2 animals. 3,5,3',5'-Tetraiodothyronine ($T_4$) in the TRT1 group (p = 0.006) was lower than that in the other treatment groups. Cortisol (COR) in the control and TRT1 group was lower (p<0.0001) than that in the TRT2 and TRT3 groups. Corticosterone (CORt) in the control group was higher (p<0.0001) than that in the treatment groups. The findings indicate that the deep litter bedding systems provided better conditions for animal health and growth performance compared with the control system. Furthermore, the litter composition of TRT1 was found to be optimal among the three treatment groups.

국내 경유자동차 배출물 규제동향 (Trend of exhaust emission control of diesel engine vehicles in Korea)

  • This short report describes the trend of exhaust emission control of the diesel engine vehicles in Korea, which originally was motivated from the newly proposed Emission Control Regulation of Diesel Engine Vehicles possible to be activated in 1991 by Korean Environmental Protection Agency. This short survey report has been prepared by the special working group of The Korea Society of Automotive Engineers (KSAE) on this particular subject. This report includes (1) estimation of portions of contribution of diesel engine vehicle emission to total air pollution, (2) comparison of proposals of new articles/regulations/laws in Korea with those of other selected countries such as USA, European countries, and Japan, (3) comparison of vehical emission control regulations in Korea with those in other selected countries, (4) technical aspects of possibilities of reduction of diesel engine vehicle emissions, (5) additional administrational aspects of technology development program, (6) social impact resulted from the severe emission control regulation on diesel engine vehicles, and (7) proposals, prepared by the special working group of the KSAE, on the emission control regulation of diesel engine vehicles, which can possibly bring better cleaner air released from the air pollution resulted from diesel engine exhaust emissions in real sense with minimal financial contribution, with optimal technological efforts, with less social impacts, within five to ten year period.

유전 알고리즘 기반의 강인한 성능을 가지는 모델추종형 보일러-터빈 H∞ 제어 시스템의 설계 (A Design of GA-Based Model-Following Boiler-Turbine H∞ Control System Having Robust Performance)

  • 본 연구에서는 강인한 성능을 가지는 모델추종형 H${\infty}$ 제어기의 설계법을 제시한다. 이를 위해 강인한 성능을 보장하는 해집단내에서 기준모델의 출력을 최적으로 추종하도록 유전 알고리즘을 사용하여 가중치 함수와 설계 파라미터 ${\gamma}$를 동시에 최적화한다. 설계된 H${\infty}$ 제어기는 강인한 성능에 관한 필요충분조건식을 만족함은 물론 설계사양에 따른 만족스러운 응답특성을 가진다. 제시된 방법을 보일러-터빈 제어 시스템에 적용하여 그 유용성을 확인한다.
