DLC films were deposited using the ECR-PECVD method with the fixed deposition condition, such as ECR power, methane and hydrogen gas-flow rates and deposition time, for various substrate bias voltage. We have investigated the ion bombardment effect induced by the substrate bias voltage on films during the deposition of film. The characteristic of the films were analyzed using the FTIR, Raman, and UV/Vis spectroscopy analysis shows that the amount of dehydrogenation in films was increased with the increase of substrate bias voltage and films thickness was decreased. Raman scattering analysis shows that integrated intensity ratio(ID/IG) of the D and G peak was increased as the substrate bias voltage increased and films hardness was increased. Optical transmittances of DLC film were decreased with increasing deposition time and substrate bias voltage. From these results, it can be concluded that films deposited at this experimental have the enhanced characteristics of DLC because of the ion bombardment effect on films during the deposition of film.

The development of a compact and high performance MWIR thermal imaging sensor based on the SOFRADIR 320${\times}$240 element IRCCD detector is described. The sensor has 20 magnification zoom optics with the maximum 40$^{\circ}$${\times}$30$^{\circ}$ of super wide field of view and 7.6 cycles/mrad of resolving power with the operation of attached micro-scanning system. In order to correct nonuniformities of detector arrays, we have proposed a multi-point correction method using defocusing of the optics and we have acquired the highest quality images. The MRTD of our system shows good results below 0.05K at spatial frequency 1 cycles/mrad at narrow field of view. Experimental data and obtained performances are presented and discussed.
The study investigated the effects of base curve radius art the fit of thin, mid-water contact lenses. It was found that central corneal curvature(as measured with the keratometer) was not predictive of the best fitting base curve. Proper lens fit may be the single most important factor that ultimately determines the success of contact lens wear. Comfort, vision, and physiological response are all dependent on the fit of the lens. The percent of optimal fits was highest with the 8.4 mm base curve lens for all three ranges of keratometry values. When fit with the 8.4 mm lens. For most eyes, fitting a flatter lens led to greater decentration, decreased comfort, and no increase in lens movement. The 8.4 mm lens was found to provide on "optimal" fit in over 60% of eyes tested and a fit of "good" or "better" in nearly 90% of eyes tested. Comparisons of different manufactures' lens found that similiar lenses do not always fit in the same way due to subtle design and production differences. Therefore, different products may require different base curve radii to fit the same patient. This is even true when water content, center thickness, and diameter are approximately the same. A praditioner fitting a new patient in this lenses should begin with the 8.4 mm base curve radius.

This paper presents the study on multi-beam large aperture antenna systems for a satellite payload. Multi-beam large antenna provides the universal communication and broadcasting services to personal portable terminals. The hybrid antenna composed of a large reflector and a feed array forms multi-beams. The feed cluster consists of a group of feed elements and each element should be optimized for the appropriate amplitude and phase. The optimization progress for amplitude and phase was performed by GO (Geometrical Optics) and PO (Physical Optics) method. The number of feed elements as well as the power level per element were also optimized to meet the required EIRP (Effective Isotropically Radiated Power). In conclusion, 30m-class reflector and twenty five elements for fifteen beams over Korean Peninsula were designed through the optimization process.

In this paper secondary optics for an LED lamp with a narrow beam angle of $15^{\circ}$ were optimized by using a two-reflector system, to reduce both its size and the occurrence of satellite rings. The conic constant and the curvature of the primary reflector were determined by considering the relation of the source size to the beam angle, and the optimal position and radius of the secondary reflector were found for reducing the occurrence of satellite rings. Luminous flux efficiency was about 80%.
Since the pixel size of the image sensor used in optical systems is gradually decreasing, the resolution specification of the optical system should be inevitably higher. If aberration change according to the eccentricity of a specific lens group occurs, only the amount of eccentricity of a specific lens group may be calculated with the traditional resolution adjustment method so that the aberration of the optical system is minimized to a certain extent. As a result, it is possible to increase the resolution of the optical system and to respond to a sensor with a large number of pixels. However, in the traditional method, there should be no change in specific aberration due to the eccentricity of a specific lens group. In this paper, we propose a new method to eliminate such a limitation of the traditional method in a camera optical system with a floating system, which is to choose and control the arbitrary two lens groups to easily minimize the eccentricity of the optical system in order to obtain an optical system with high resolution.
The Local Volume Mapper (LVM), for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey V, consists of four 16 cm telescopes with three fiber spectrographs in the Las Campanas Observatory in Chile. With the fixed telescopes on optical tables, the Alt-Alt mounted siderostats point and guide targets during spectrograph exposures. We are developing the integrated LVM instrument control software. Considering international travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, we decided to make a simplified version of siderostat to test the LVM telescope control system in Korea. The prototype siderostat consists of two aluminum flat mirrors, optomechanical housing structures made by aluminum profiles, and the Planewave L-350 mount. We designed the optical mirrors and the optomechanical structure of the siderostat. From structural analysis at various pointing cases, we estimated the tilt misalignments of mirrors within 4 arcsec, which would affect the telescope pointing errors.
The evolution of a multi viewer autostereoscopic display is described. Development of the display was originally a part of the EC funded 'ATTEST' project and continues as another EC project 'MUTED'. The design of the original display is presented and the limitations of the prototype are described. The current iteration of the design is presented.
