Methods: Total of 287 students from three ophthalmic optics college in kyung-gi region was surveyed and analyzed using SPSS analysis. Results: Optical shop startup business plan of ophthalmic optics students was very high (80.1%). For startup timing, over 6yrs of employe (37.0%) was most and there was significant difference according to age (p<.001) and optician family present (p<.05). For startup type, single startup type (37%) was most and there was significant difference according to grade (p<.01). For startup unit of space, 30 pyong (43.5%) was most, Seoul metropolitan area and kyung-gi region (54.4%) was most for startup region, and station area (40.8%) was most for startup location. The reason of non-startup was eye hospital and glass related company employe (35.7%) was most and optical shop employe (35.7%) was most for non-startup planner's way. • This study has been implemented to identify the level of satisfaction of the Glass spectacle wearers on various services being given by optical shop workers and help them to provide services of higher quality to the spectacle wearers. The objectives of this study are the spectacle wearers who visited to the 5 Designated optical shops located in Seoul area. All the data has been collected for the 2 months period (Oct. 1 through Dec. 1. 1999.) By using structured, self-described research form. All the collected data were 250 copies in total but evaluated 222 copies only as we excluded 28 copies which has uncertain reply/contents. Major results are as follows: 1. The proportions of objectives by sex was male 54.1%, female 45.9% and by Academic career was University graduates 35.1%, High school graduates 32.4%. 2. The factors impects on the satisfaction level of spectacle wearers were the Employee's service and the status of frame. 3. the factors impacts on the intention for revisit the optical shops were facility status, the responsiveness on wearer s opinion and the employee s services. The factors impect the wearers to build up intention to recommend the visited optical Shops to the 3rd costomer were employee s services, the status of frames, the facility Status and the price level they paid. Considering the results of this study above mentioned, in order to raise up the satisfaction level of glass spectacle wearers, it s thought that the employee (optician) of optical shops have to well acquainted fluent knowledge on the glass spectacles and detailed to the spectacle wearers in a gentle manner and let them build up the reliabily.

  • Purpose: In this study, we evaluated the physical and thermal properties of the compositions made by blending glass fiber (GF) of different contents into glass fiber polyamide-66, and investigated if the compositions applying to the glasses frame to replace the TR-90, which is polyamide-12 resin used as an injection-type spectacle frame material. Methods: To investigate the characteristics change of polyamide-66 (PA-66) compositions with the change of the content of glass fibers, we produced a composition of the content by using a twin-screw extruder. The mechanical strength of the composition production was measured and coating properties as well as cutting processability were evaluated. We evaluated the applicability of the glasses frame by comparison the results of new compositions with characterizations of traditional TR. Results: For the results of the characterization of Polyamide-66/GF composition, we found that the higher increase of content of the glass fiber, the less mold shrinkage rate, and the mechanical strength was increased. Tensile strength increased from $498kg/cm^2$ for 0 wt% of the content of the glass fibers to $849kg/cm^2$ for 30 wt% of the content of the glass fibers. As a result of a coating evaluation, the strength of coating was 4B in the GF 5wt% and 5B, which was extremely good coating characteristics, in the over than GF 5 wt%. Conclusions: In case that 30 wt% of the glass fiber was blended, the mechanical strength was greatly improved, the hardness was increased, injection temperature increased due to increase of the viscosity, and the flow mark of the product may occur. The paint coating of PA-66 blended with glass fiber was all excellent. With general evaluating physical properties and workability properties it was determined that around 10 wt% of the content of the glass fibers was possible to apply a spectacle frame.

  • Submicron gratings are fabricated holographically on thin film single mode and multimode waveguides. Thin film waveguides are made by spin-coating polyurethane solution on the substrates of microscope slide glass and Corning 7059 glass. In order to characterize thin film waveguides, the refract사e index and the thickness of thin films are measured by using the m-line spectroscopy. The fabricated gratings are tested as a grating coupler, a mode converter, and a beam splitter. Also chirped gratings are fabricated to observe beam expansion phenomena and thus the possibility of the wavelength demultiplexing.

  • This paper describes a symmetric method for determining a combination of element power and optical material to design a catadioptric system with corrected color aberration and flat Petzval curvature. To graphically obtain the solutions, a glass chart containing the Abbe number, the refractive index, and the optical power, which are closely related to these aberrations, is suggested. First, we recompose an optical system as a doublet of the specific lens and an equivalent single lens, and then locate both lenses on lines that are symmetric to each other on a glass chart, through changing the lens parameters effectively. Utilizing this method, an achromatic catadioptric system with flat Petzval curvature is obtained.

  • In accordance with the PON(passive optical network) could be setup, effective connections with light sources, optical detectors, and optical fibers are the best sensitive points to represent the efficiency of network. Therefore, in this paper we designed and fabricated optical transceiver connection chip that was consisted of channel waveguide, Y-branch, and CWDM on the 2" BK7 glass substrate. This chip can be used for 1.31/1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CWDM network and 1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ region dense WDM network.work.

  • In the rear projection TV, the optimal system configurations of optical parts are presented, which are focused on competitive price and performances. From the initial design with five Seidel aberrations free, aspherization of the plastic lenses, and optimization with tolerances, a new lens consisting of two plastic and one glass lenses was designed. It is able to be used on current broadcast standard NTSC and digital TV in common. The developed CRT-lens assembly could display the 40 to 50 inch image and its resolution is more than 800 TV-lines.

  • Eosin-doped boric acid glass saturable absorber has a relatively low saturation intensity (700 mW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) and low power optical phase conjugation is achived by the degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) experiments. Polarization properties of optical phase conjugation by DFWM have been demonstrated in this materials using a cw argon ion laser at wavelength 488 nm. The dependence of the phase conjugated reflectivity on the intensity and wavelength of the pump beam is examined. The magnitude of the energy exchange by the nondegenerate two-wave mixing (NDTWM) is maximized by frequency difference between the two beams of $\varphi\simeq$ 1100 Hz.

  • The equivalent lens conversion technique is applied to design achromatic doublet and aplanatic doublet. A thin doublet which has zero axial thicknesses, are corrected for the third order aberrations at first, and the thin doublet is converted into thick lens system by using the equivalent lens conversion. Two types of cemented doublets, the Fraunhofer type and the Steinheil type, are designed by using a crown glass BaK-2 and a flint glass SF-2. In the thin doublet design, there are two achromatic solutions and a aplanatic solution for the both types.

  • Small form factor optical disks for near-field optics using solid immersion lens were developed. Disk durability properties in terms of head-disk interface (HDI) properties were investigated by drag test, diamond like carbon film and lubricant film were coated on the small form factor disk to enhance HDI. Disks with glass substrates and lubricant films after heat treatment showed more durable characteristics. Coverlayers made of UV resin were uniformly coated by spin coating In which the ski-jump could not be formed by adopting outer ring technique.
