  • In this paper, we measured the reflectance of the $100{\mu}m{\times}100{\mu}m$ micromirror. In order to reduce the size of the HeNe laser beam, an eyepiece and an objective lens were used. CCD camera was used to the monitor the position and focusing. It was found that the diameter of the focused laser beam was about $3{\mu}m$. The reflectance of the reflectance of the micromirror was over the surface and 87% of the commercial mirror.

  • Cloud's properties can be showed on different spectral channel. The 0.65${\mu}$m reflectance is mainly function of cloud optical thickness and reflectance of 1.6${\mu}$m is sensitive to cloud phase and particle size distribution. So we can use multi-spectral information to analysis cloud's microphysical properties.

  • $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ trilayer films were deposited with radio frequency (RF) and direct current (DC) magnetron sputtering onto the glass substrate to consider the influence of Ag interlayer on the optical properties of the films. The thickness of $TiO_2$ films was kept at 24 nm, while the thickness of Ag interlayer was varied as 5, 10, 15, and 20 nm. As-deposited $TiO_2$ single layer films show the optical transmittance of 66.7% in the visible wave-length region and the optical reflectance of 16.5%, while the $TiO_2$ films with a 15 nm thick Ag interlayer show the enhanced optical transmittance of 80.2% and optical reflectance of 77.8%. The carrier concentration was also influenced by Ag interlayer. The highest carrier concentration of $1.01{\times}10^{23}cm^{-3}$ was observed for a 15 nm thick Ag interlayer in $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ films. The observed result means that an optimized Ag interlayer in $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ films enhanced the structural and optical properties of the films.

  • A high reflectance mirror, which has very low absorption and scattering loss, was coated onto a crystalline substrate by ion beam sputtering and then annealed at $450^{\circ}C$. We carefully selected the mirror coating material, and designed the high reflectance mirror, in order to avoid UV degradation which comes from the He-Ne plasma. We measured the surface roughness of the Zerodur substrate using phase shift interferometry and atomic force microscopy, and compared it with the TIS scattering of the mirror. The cavity ring-down method was used to measure the absorption of the mirror, and the thin film structure was correlated to its results. We also compared the optical properties of coated mirrors before and after annealing.

  • The surface reflectance is essential to retrieval various indicators related land properties such as vegetation index, albedo and etc. In this study, we estimated surface reflectance using Himawari-8 / Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI) channel data. In order to estimate surface reflectance from Top of Atmosphere (TOA) reflectance, the atmospheric correction is necessary because all of the TOA reflectance from optical sensor is affected by gas molecules and aerosol in the atmosphere. We used Second Simulation of a Satellite Signal in the Solar Spectrum Vector (6SV) Radiative Transfer Model (RTM) to correct atmospheric effect, and Look-Up Table (LUT) to shorten the calculation time. We verified through comparison Himawri-8 / AHI surface reflectance and Proba-V S1 products. As a result, bias and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) are calculated about -0.02 and 0.05.

  • Different papers such as toilet and towel tissue, newsprint and copy paper made from reclaimed fibres were characterized using UV-VIS reflectance and fluorescence spectroscopy. The emission properties of the extracts of the papers were also evaluated. Photochemical irradiation at ambient temperatures, and thermal aging of the copy papers at 105$^{\circ}C$ and 150$^{\circ}C$ were performed. Post-colour numbers (PC) were calculated from the reflectance values measured from the corresponding UV-VIS reflectance spectra. Light absorption coefficient spectra were calculated before and after irradiation, and the changes in absorption coefficient were related to the content of chromophores in the papers. Photochemical and thermal discolouration of the copy papers, similar to that of virgin fibres, was readily observed. The influence of changes in the concentrations of fluorescent brightening agents and dyes on the spectral properties was also assessed. Photostabilization studies of the copy papers were performed with the use of polymer additives polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polytetrahydrofuran (PTHF).

  • The surfaces of most atmosphereless solar system objects are referred to as regolith, layers of loosely connected fragmentary debris, produced by meteorite impacts. Measurements of light scattered from such surfaces provides information about the composition and structure of the surface. A suitable way to characterize the scattering properties is to consider how the intensity and polarization of scattered light depends on the particle size, composition, porosity, roughness, wavelength of incident light and the geometry of observation. In the present work, the effect of porosity on bidirectional reflectance as a function of phase angle is studied for alumina powder with grain size of $0.3{\mu}m$ and olivine powder with grain size of $49{\mu}m$ at 543.5 nm. The optical constants of the alumina sample for each porosity were calculated with Maxwell Garnett effective medium theory. On using each of the optical constants of alumina sample in Mie theory with the Hapke model the variation of bidirectional reflectance is obtained as a function of phase angle with porosity as a parameter. Experimental reflectance data are in good agreement the model. For the olivine sample the effect of porosity is studied using Hapke (2008).

  • We are studied the stability of amorphous and crystalline $Te_{100-x}Ge_x$ (x=10, 15. 25, 40, 50, 60 at.%) thin films by observing the degradation in 8O%RH/$66^{\circ}C$ environment and the reflectance ratio. The degradation was observed with the transmittance and reflectance, the reflectance was measured at 780nm in the wavelength range of diode laser. In amorphous $Te_{100-x}Ge_x$ thin films of below x=4O at.%, the degradation was observed, the thin film of x=10 at.% was shown the degradation degree of 12.5%. In crystalline $Te_{100-x}Ge_x$ thin films of x=10, 40 at.%, the degradation degree were 12.8%, 13%, respectively. The reflectance ratio were shown above 20% in. all composition ratio. Therefore, we are expected that $Te_{100-x}Ge_x$ thin films of x=50, 60 at.% has the long life for the optical recording media.
