SIL을 이용한 근접장 기록계에서의 서보 방식의 개발 (Improvement Air Gap Control for SIL based Near-Field Recording System)

  • A high density optical data storage device has been required for many years. In the field of the optical data storage, a near-field recording (NFR) technology is considered as a next generation one for achieving the high data density. Due to an evanescent wave effect occurred under 100nm distance which is the excessively small distance between the SIL and the disc, the most significant and difficult problem in this technology is to maintain a gap between a solid immersion lens (SIL) and a disc. Also, maintaining the gap under at least 50nm is required in the NFR gap servo system to use the evanescent wave effect efficiently. There are some institutes that have shown the novel gap servo control. In general, they use a mode switching servo method which consists of approach, hand-over and gap control mode. However there is a critical problem such as an overshoot at the tuning point from the approach mode to the hand-over mode, which may cause a collision between the SIL and the disc. In this paper, we show our NFR system and an improved gap servo system using an exponential function as the approach mode which can reduce the overshoot.

  • In this paper, we deal with the analysis and optimum design of a disc drive feeding system. Using this proposed design method, we can determine an optimal step motor and lead-screw for the shorter seek time and required seek resolution. Simulation results show that this method can be potentially implemented in the design of a feeding system.

  • 최근들어 플라스틱 렌즈는 여러 분야에 응용되고 있으며 광학적 시스템에도 널리 사용되고 있다. 광학적 플라스틱은 제작이 용이하고 크기에 제한을 받지 않아 그 수요가 크게 확대되고 있다. 그러나, 광학적인 시스템에 사용되기 위해서는 높은 순도가 요구되면서 또한 재질의 균일성이 확보되어야 하고 개구율이 점차 높아 가는 현실에서는 그 특성의 연구가 또한 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 간섭계를 구성하여 광학 디스크 경사에 따른 파면을 측정하고 광학수차 평가를 통하여 광학적인 시스템에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. (중략)

  • There are various large shocks in optical disc drive system like human touch and speak sound. In this paper, a nonlinear controller and a detection method are proposed. First, a relay nonlinear controller with dead zone is introduced. The structure of this nonlinear controller is simple and has a small amount of calculation. However, this controller has chattering problem when it is working. We suggest a disturbance detection algorithm using Kalman filter in this paper and it shows effective reduction of chattering. The proposed nonlinear controller using this detection algorithm had good performance for the shock.

Synthesis and Optical Recording Properties of Coupled Hemicyanine Salts for DVD-R

  • A series of coupled-hemicyanine dyes with alkylene spacer were successfully synthesized by a reaction of coupled aldehydes with corresponding salts, respectively. These coupled dyes had more excellent thermal properties (high decomposition temperature, stiff decomposition behavior) and higher molar absorption properties than an uncoupled dye. The coupled dyes with perchlorate anions showed the strongest exothermic decomposition while those with hexafluorophosphorate anions showed endothermic decomposition. As the coupling length (n=3, 4, 5, 6) increased, thermal properties decreased and dyes with even spacer was more thermally stable than dyes with odd spacer. Among several coupled dyes, C4-NP-ClO4 and C4-Cl-ClO4 exhibited the best recording properties with the lowest jitter value of 7.5∼9.5% in authoring disc.

  • A moving-magnet type pickup actuator has an assembly error. That is, the actuating Part of an actuator is shifted from initial position after we assemble it into yoke. This Is the result of an effect of magnetic force between magnet and yoke. We performed magnetic-analysis using FEA. As a result of simulation, we improved the assembling efficiency for moving-magnet type actuator.

  • For high density optical storage, there should be a high NA objective lens and a shorter wavelength laser diode. To secure the disc tilt margin related to the coma aberration, moreover, it's difficult to apply the tilt compensation mechanism into the portable PC. In this paper, we proposed the 3-axis asymmetry pickup actuator with high efficiency symmetric magnetic circuit, which consisted of the top cover type inner yoke for high magnetic flux density, the coil stack unit for the 3-axis independent operation and vertically polarized magnets. This newly suggested actuator features DVD-RAM recording, we achieved the high focus & track AC sensitivity and the greatly stabilized system.

  • 본 논문에서는 광디스크 메모리의 재생성능에 주요한 영향을 미치는 jitter를 향상시키는 방법이 검토되었다. 광디스크 제조공정에 있어서 타공정의 변수를 고정한 상태에서 단일의 조작을 통해 jitter value를 저감화시키기 위해 펄스 폭 조정기를 제작하였다. 펄스 폭 조정기폭 적용하여 입력신호의 level을 조정한 결과 6.9%의 최소 jitter value를 확보하였다.

광디스크 드라이브에서의 트랙 점프 안정도 향상 (Enhanced Track Jump Stability in Optical Disc Drives)

  • Track jump control is a random access strategy for short distance movement. The most common track jump scheme is a bang-bang control of a kick and brake manner. In a conventional track jump scheme, a track-following compensator is turned off during kick and brake periods, and restarted at a target track for track pull-in. The inevitable controller switching with non-zero initial condition results in undesirable transient response, and excessive overshoot in the transient response causes track pull-in failure. In this paper, a new track jump scheme is proposed for enhancing track jump stability. Instead of control switching, internal states of a track-following controller are artificially manipulated for kick and brake actions in a digital control environment. Experimental results are provided in comparison with conventional track jumps.

  • DVD, HD(High Density)-DVD등의 고밀도 광 디스크의 광 기록재생장치는 고 개구율(Numerical Aperature)의 대물렌즈로 집광 빔의 크기를 소형화하여 기록용량을 증대시키고 있다. 이 경우 광축과 광 디스크의 기록면에 대한 경사는 광학적인 수차가 발생되어 신호 레벨의 저하나 기록시의 피트(pit) 형성의 오류, Crosstalk등의 문제가 발생한다. 이를 극복하기 위해 직접 디스크의 경사에 따라 제어할 수 있는 픽업 구동기가 제안되어 왔지만 주로 Half Height(12.7mm)에 사용되는 틸트 구동기였으며 Slim(6.3mm)형 틸트 구동기는 제안되지 못하였다.
