This study conducted to monitor decomposition process of the charomatophore pollution solution of an animal slurry by using a CCD camera. After the solution was put into test tube, the images(R, G, B, H, L, S) values of the solution were measured by the imgae processing system, and those of it\`s optical density were measured for three hours to be decomposed by microscopic organism. The values of measured for three hours to be decomposed by microscopic organism. The values of measured images(R, G, B, H, L, S) were analysed and compared with those of the optical density. Some of the results are as follows. 1. High correlation coefficients, which analyzed by using data on linear equations, were 0.9557 and 0.9672. They were decreased regularly in this R-value experiment of RGB level. The microscopic organism in this experiment was effective for decomposition of the red charomatophore pollution solution. 2. The values of all correlation coefficients from relationship between RGB-value and optical density were more than 0.95 except H-values. RGB-values, which were average values of summed R, G, B values, had correlation coefficients of 0.9863, 0.9937. These results showed so good relationship that decomposition process of charomatophore pollution solution could be monitored by a image processing system.

The performance of a set of low-cost optical components used for measuring the optical density of PM particles was evaluated in the present study. To this end, the set of low-cost optical components was replaced with that of general optical components used to measure the PM optical density under identical experimental conditions. The optical densities measured from the set of general optical components were then compared to those obtained from the set of low-cost optical components. While the optical density is measured, another key parameter, the dimensionless extinction constant of PM particles (which is needed to optically measure the PM concentration) was also determined in the present study. The experimental results indicate that the optical density and PM concentration measurements performed by low-cost optical components are feasible, producing trackable variations in the OD and concentrations compared to values obtained from the set of general optical components.
It has been suggested that merging plays an important role in the formation and the evolution of early-type galaxies. Optical-NIR color gradients of early-type galaxies in high density environments are found to be less steep than those in low density environment, hinting frequent merger activities in early-type galaxies in high density environment. In order to confirm if the flat color gradient is the result of dry merger, we decided to look deeply to find merging features and get their relation with color gradient. We selected samples which show extreme values of optical-NIR color gradients based on the data of previous study, and observed them at Maidanak observatory 1.5m telescope with long exposure. After masking out overlaid sources, our analysis reveals that these galaxies do not have extreme color gradient values. High degree sky flat technique was used during observation to aid discovery of faint, extended features. However, flatness of detector (SNUCAM) was good enough, so we could not see any marked improvement in image quality compared to those using normal sky flats. Additionally we noticed a feature that looks like merging tidal tail in the CFHT archival image, but this does not show up on the image we obtained. This demonstrates that flatness and correct sky estimation is very important when we look for faint merging features. In future we plan to enlarge the number of the sample.
Statement of problem. The effects of surface roughness have not or insufficiently been analyzed on earlier events such as cell adhesion though cell behavior most germane to implant performance is cell adhesion. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate cell adhesion of osteoblast-like cells (MG63) onto three types of titanium disks with varying roughness using the Elisa assay. Materials and methods. Representative disks from each group (SLA, HA, machined) were subjected to surface analysis and surface roughness was measured by the optical interferometer (Accura 2000, Intekplus Co., Seoul, Korea). Following this, MG63 cells were cultured on the titanium disks and released. Cell adhesion measurements using the Elisa assay were performed specifically at three points: after 24, 48, and 72 hours of culture. Results. Among the 3 types of surface analyzed, the SLA surface was the roughest with a Ra value of $1.114{\mu}m$ followed by HA coated surface and machined surface, consecutively. The optical density values for the SLA surface group was significantly higher than that of the machined and HA coated surface groups following 24 and 48 hours of culture. The cell culture on HA coated surface showed significantly higher values compared to the machined surface following 24, 48 and 72 hours of culture. Conclusion. The results suggest that surface treatment of titanium surfaces enhanced cell adhesion of human osteoblast-like cells (MG63).
Purpose : To apply to Program of Auto processor quality control after comparison of Film density variations with amendments to Auto density by using Check density program and Adjust density program of calibration mode into the Laser imager. Methods : Observe Check and Adjust density variations on the Control chart with standard step and value during seven months from December, 1995 to June, 1956 extending twice a week. (1) Measure density value on the steps after printing out 17-step sensitometric pattern of the Check density program. (2) In the same way, measure density values after amending density by using Adjust density program If they are exceeding allowable error limit. Results : In case of Check density program, the exceeding limit rates of Density difference(DD) and Middle density(MD) are: FL-IM3543 DD=75%. MD=72.5%, FL-IMD DD=0%. MD=30.8%(14.5%) After amending density by using Adjust density program, the exceeding limit rates of all both Laser imager were zero percent. The standard deviations are show lower FL-IM D than FL-IM3543 on the Check density control chart, but higher on the Adjust density control chart. Conclusion : (1) Check density variations by printingout sensitometric pattern extending once a week at least for quality control of the Laser imager. (2) In case of a dusty place, check the Laser beam transmission after cleaning Laser optical unit extending once a month. (3) Be sure to measure and check density values by using adjust density program if they are exceeding allowable error limit. (4) Maintain much better film density by performing the adjust density program even if check density values are existed within normal limit.
In order to establish and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay to ILTV, field virus strain of ILTV was propagated in chorioallantoic membrane of the embryonated eggs. purified and used as antigen. The antisera selected from the field samples and immunized chickens based on serum neutralization test were used as the standard positive and negative sera in all tests. It was found that optimal antigen concentration was $2{\mu}g$ of protein per well and a 1 : 100 dilution of standard serum showed low background optical density with negative serum and high P/N values of positive sera. A 1 : 500 dilution of the rabbit anti-chicken IgG peroxidase conjugate produced a high P/N values and thirty minutes was chosen as suitable time to read the optical density of the enzyme substrate reaction and optical density was consistent during the 16 hours after stopper was treated. When coated antigen was kept on microplate for varying time up to 16 hours at $4^{\circ}C$ or $37^{\circ}C,$ no significant difference was observed between the treatment. The coated antigen could be kept without change of antigenicity for at least one month at $-70^{\circ}C,\; -20^{\circ}C,\; 4^{\circ}C$ and room temperature. When blocking buffer contanining bovine serum albumin was mixed directly with conjugate and serum at 10% level induced higher P/N values compared to blocking antigen coated microplate with the same blocking buffer. The coefficience of correlation between ELISA and SN test was 0.577. When antibody response of chickens, vaccinated with ILTV, was examined by ELISA and SN test, antibody rising and decay pattern between the two test was similar until 11 weeks of age. However 12 weeks onward antibody titer checked on by SN test was slightly lower than that tested by ELISA.

This study was performed to identify the proper analytical conditions of endotoxins regarding optical density in the workplace where metalworking fluids are used. This study found that "onset time method" was more accurate than "time to $V_{max}$ method". Reproducibility and accuracy analyzed by "onset time method" was greatly higher than the "time to $V_{max}$". The optical density of "0.03" was the most appropriate analytical condition among "onset time method". In this analytical condition, linearity of 0.998 was obtained and recovery rate ranged from 88% to 105% at the endotoxin concentrations below 5 EU/mL. No significant difference of endotoxins was observed between the optical densities of "0.03" and "0.05". However, correlation coefficients were different with statistical significance (p<0.01). This study confirmed that either the optical densities "0.03" or "0.05" should be used to analyze endotoxin. Of these optical density values, OD with correlation coefficient higher than 0.98 should be used to analyze endotoxin in environmental samples.
A selection of commercially available poly(ethy1ene terephtha1ate) fibers with different degrees of molecular alignment and crystallinity have been investigated utilizing a wide range of techniques including optical microscopy, infrared spectroscopy together with thermal and wide-angle X-ray diffraction techniques. Annealing experiments showed increased molecular alignment and crystallinity as shown by the increased values of birefringence and melting enthalpies. Crystallinity values determined from thermal analysis, density, unpolarized infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction are compared and discussed in terms of the inherent capabilities and limitations of each measurement technique. The birefringence and refractive index values obtained from optical microscopy are found to decrease with increasing wavelength of light used in the experiments. The wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the samples with relatively low orientation possess oriented non-crystalline array of chains whereas those with high molecular orientation possess well defined and oriented crystalline array of chains along the fiber axis direction. X-ray analysis showed increasing crystallite size trend with increasing molecular orientation. SEM images showed micro-cracks on low oriented fiber surfaces becoming smooth on highly oriented fiber surfaces. Excellent bending characteristics were observed with knotted fibers implying relatively easy fabric formation.
It is necessary to improve mechanical and optical properties in the optical disk substrates as the information storage density using short wavelength laser are being developed. The birefringence distribution is regarded as one of the most important optical properties for optical disk. In the present study, the birefringence distrubution is calculated using the Leonov model for viscoelastic constitutive equations and Cross/WLF model for viscosity approximation. The effects of processing conditions upon the development of birefringence discosity approximation. The effects of processing conditions upon the development of birefringence distribution in the optical disk were examined theoretically. It was found that the values of the birefringence distributions were very sensitive to the mold wall temperature history which minimizes the birefringence distribution. The analytical results showed the possibility of improving mechanical and optical properties in the optical disk substrates by active control of the mold wall temperature history.

Combination of magnetic recording technology and optical recording technology such as Near Field Optical Recording is watched recently. In order to accomplish this technology, the development of an electromagnetic driven mm-sized mirror shifting laser beam in track direction have to needed. In Near Field Optical Recording System, shifting laser beam in track direction mean as fine tracking and means as coarse tracking. Therefore in Near Field Optical Recording, 2-stage actuator is composed of servo controller in reading or recording information on disc layer. In our research, through design and simulation process of driven mm-sized mirror, we arrange systematically design process of driven mm-sized mirror having good frequency transfer characteristics. Design and simulation processes included modal analysis of spring, calculation of magnetic moment according to the number of turns and geometric configuration of coil and magnetic circuit analysis meaning that calculation of magnetic flux density in air gap of magnetic circuit. After that we design and make parts of driven mm-sized mirror, assemble and evaluate our electriomagnetic driven mm-sized mirror. we compared design values with actual characteristic values and present solution scheme. Through these processes we performed manufacturing of an electromagnetic driven mm-sized mirror having good frequency-domain characteristics and high sensitivity characteristics.
