Preconditions for High Speed Confocal Image Acquisition with DMD Scanning.

  • Digital image-projection and several modifications are the classical applications of Digital Micromirror Devices (DMD), however further applications in the field of optical metrology are also available. Operated with certain patterns, a DMD can function, for instance, as an array of pinholes that may substitute the Galvanic mirror or the stage scanning system presently used for 2 dimensional scanning in confocal microscopes. The various process parameters that influence the result of measurement (e.g. pinhole size, lateral scanning pitch and the number of pinholes used simultaneously, etc.) should be configured precisely for individual measurements by appropriately operating the DMD. This paper presents suitable conditions for the diffraction limited analysis between DMD-optics-CCD to achieve the best performance. Also sampling theorem that is necessary for the image acquisition by scanning system is simulated with OPTISCAN which is the simulator based on the diffraction theory.

  • With the increase of storage density and data transfer rates in optical disk drive, mechanical issues, mainly noise and vibration, become critical. Rubber materials are extensively used in various machine design application, mainly for vibration/shock/noise control devices. However, there are still a lot of difficulties in the use of designing the rubber components with complex shape and under pre-deformed state. It was demonstrated in that the variation of rubber component stiffness with the pre-deformed state were calculated by the finite element method and the reliability of numerical results were checked by compared with the measuring the deflection values. This paper presents a efficient design method of rubber mounts for anti-vibration of an optical disk thrive. With an empirical equation to estimate elastic modulus from hardness, and dynamic characteristics of rubber material of a cylindrical shape, this method is capable of predicting the dynamic characteristics of rubber components at design stage.

위성영상을 이용한 저수지 수체면적 변화 분석 (Analysis of Water Surface Area Change in Reservoir Using Satellite Images)

  • 본 연구는 위성영상을 이용하여 국내의 검증 가능한 지역의 저수지 수표면 변화를 모니터링하고 저수지 수표면적과 저수량 분석을 수행하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구의 대상지역은 충청권 일부 지역으로 용수를 공급하고 있는 금강의 대청댐을 대상으로 하였다. 위성영상의 여러 관측센서 중 Sentinel-1(SAR-C) 영상과 Sentinel-2(MSI)의 광학영상을 이용하여 수체를 탐지하는 연구를 진행하였다. 지상관측 자료인 저수지의 저수량과 추출한 수체면적과의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 Sentinel-1(SAR) 영상을 이용한 수체면적과 일단위 저수량과의 결정계수(R2)는 0.9242로 분석되었고, Sentinel-2의 MSI 광학영상을 이용한 분석에서도 0.8995로 상관관계가 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 저수량과 수체면적과의 관계식을 이용하여 영상으로부터 추출한 수체면적의 저수량이 실제 저수량과 유사한 형태의 수문곡선을 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 향후 북한 지역과 같이 관측의 밀도가 낮고 접근이 불가한 지역에 위성영상 자료를 활용하여 주요 댐 저수지 수체면적에 대한 연간변화와 장기간의 추세를 분석하는 연구로 진행할 계획이다.

  • As a standard of optical disk drive (ODD) was determined to Blu-ray diks (BD), researches for securing slim drive thickness, high data transfer rate and high capacity have been progressed. The actuator for applying BD is also required to have high performances, such as compatibility, slim thickness and 3-axis motion. In this paper, an asymmetric dual lens actuator is proposed to satisfy abovementioned performances. To design the actuator in a limited space, stress analysis and design of experiment (DOE) are performed to reduce weight of moving part and increase driving force and flexible mode frequency. Consequently, the final model, which is satisfied with specifications, is secured.

  • The aspherical lenses are used as objective lens of optical pickup. To examine the design factor the sample product is made before manufacturing of injection mould of lens. The optimum cutting condition of PMMA lens sample with ultra precision SPDT, the roam spindle speed, the depth of cut, the feedrate are found. The demanded surface roughness 100m Ra, aspherical form error $0.5{\mu}m$ P-V for aspherical lens of optical data storage device are satisfied.

  • Plastic microlenses play an important role in reducing the size, weight, and the cost of the systems in the fields of optical data storage and optical communication. In the present study, plastic microlens arrays were fabricated using micro-compression molding process. The design and fabrication procedures for mold insert were simplified by using silicon instead of metal. A simple but effective micro compression molding process, which uses polymer powder, were developed for microlens fabrication. The governing process parameters were temperature and pressure histories and the micromolding process was controlled such that the various defects developing during molding process were minimized. The radius and magnification ratio of the fabricated microlens were $125{\mu}m$ and over 3.0, respectively.

  • In this paper, we investigated the disc warping in high-speed slim-type optical disc drive. Recently, the information storage devices are increasing track density and higher rotation speed to enhance their recording capacity and their data transfer rate. Generally, ODD used in the Lap-top Computer has small inner space. So, the flow instability of inner space is rapidly increased as its higher rotation speed. An extreme case, the flow instability causes the malfunction of readout at pick-up of drives. The experiments and numerical analysis were carried out for several cases, the result shows the influence of airflow to the disc warping.

  • 홀로그래픽 데이터 저장 기술은 높은 저장밀도와 빠른 전송속도, 그리고 병렬 처리로 인한 빠른 데이터 접근속도 등의 장점 때문에 차세대 정보 저장 기술 중의 하나로 고려되고 있다. 이러한 홀로그래픽 데이터 저장 기술을 보다 쉽게 실현하기 위해서는 광굴절 결정이나, 포토폴리머 같은 홀로그래픽 저장 매질이 필요하다. 그 중 포토폴리머는 고감도, 간단한 실시간 처리, 저렴한 가격 등의 이유로 광굴절 결정 보다 홀로그래픽 저장 기술 응용에 손쉽게 사용할 수 있는 저장 매질이다. 이러한 포토폴리머는 투과형과 반사형으로 나눌 수 있으며, 반응하는 파장도 조금씩 다르게 나타난다.
