단성분 $Sb_2O_3$유리의 선형 및 비선현 광학특성에 관한 연구 (Linear and nonlinear optical properties of single component $Sb_2O_3$ system)

  • 진공급냉법을 이용하여 단성분계 $Sb_2O_3$ 유리를 제조하였다. 선형굴절율은 500-1000 nm 범위내에서 측정하였으며, 굴절율은 633 nm에서 2.0이었다. 에너지갭은 3.38 eV 이었으며, 3차 비선형 광학 감수율을 THG법을 이용하여 측정하였으며 단성분계 Silica 유리보다도 20배 큰 $5.68{\times}10^{-13}$ esu의 측정값을 얻었다.

Defining the $M_{BH}-sigma_*$ relation using the uniformly measured stellar velocity dispersions in the near-IR

  • The correlation between black hole mass and stellar velocity dispersion provides an important clue on the black hole growth and galaxy evolution. In the case of AGN, however, it is extremely difficult to measure stellar velocity dispersions in the optical since AGN continuum dilutes stellar absorption features. In contrast, stellar velocity dispersions of active galaxies can be measured in the near-IR, where AGN-to-star flux ratio is much smaller. Expecting that more stellar velocity dispersion measurements will be available using future near-IR facilities, it is crucial to test whether the stellar velocity dispersions measured from the near-IR spectra are consistent with those measured from the optical spectra. For a sample of 35 nearby galaxies, for which optical stellar velocity dispersion measurements and dynamical black hole masses are available, we obtained high quality H-band spectra, using the TripleSpec at the Palomar 5-m Telescope, in order to calibrate the stellar velocity dispersions and define the $M_{BH}-sigma_*$ relation in the near-IR. Based on the spatially resolved kinematics, we correct for the rotation component and determine the luminosity-weighted stellar velocity dispersion of the spheroid component in each galaxy. In this presentation, we will show the comparison between optical and near-IR stellar velocity dispersion measurements and define the $M_{BH}-sigma_*$ relation based on uniformly measured stellar velocity dispersion in the near-IR.

의료용 플라스틱 광섬유 센서 매트 (Sensor Mat using POF for Medical Application)

  • 의료용으로 사용되는 새로운 개념의 환자감시용 센서 매트와 그 신호처리방식을 제시하였다. 제시된 센서 매트와 플라스틱 광섬유를 교차시켜 배치한 구조를 갖는 내부 센서층을 갖는 구조로 제작하였다. 플라스틱 광섬유의 대구경 특성을 이용하여 불필요한 외부환경 요인에 의하여 발생되는 잡음요소들을 평균화하여 신호성분만을 통과시키는 대역통과필터를 구현하였다. 센서 출력단에 신호처리부를 부가하여 추가로 불필요한 성분들을 제거하여 잡음제거 능력을 향상시켰고 지능형 알고리즘을 사용하여 신뢰성 있는 환자호흡감지방식을 구현하였다. 신호와 주변잡음 모두에게 고감도를 보이는 기존의 기계적인 방식을 사용하는 감지방식과는 달리 본 연구에서 제시된 방식은 신뢰성 있는 호흡 감지가 가능함을 보여주었다.

서울지역 시간별 에어로솔 자료를 이용한 화학성분별 광학특성 및 직접 복사강제력의 시간 변화 분석 (Temporal Variations in Optical Properties and Direct Radiative Forcing of Different Aerosol Chemical Components in Seoul using Hourly Aerosol Sampling)

  • Temporal variations of optical properties of urban aerosol in Seoul were estimated by the Optical Properties of Aerosols and Clouds (OPAC) model, based on hourly aerosol sampling data in Seoul during the year of 2010. These optical properties were then used to calculate direct radiative forcing during the study period. The optical properties and direct radiative forcing of aerosol were calculated separately for four chemical components such as water-soluble, insoluble, black carbon (BC), and sea-salt aerosols. Overall, the coefficients of absorption, scattering, and extinction, as well as aerosol optical depth (AOD) for water-soluble component predominated over three other aerosol components, except for the absorption coefficient of BC. In the urban environment (Seoul), the contribution of AOD (0.10~0.12) for the sum of OC and BC to total AODs ranged from 23% (spring) to 31% (winter). The diurnal variation of AOD for each component was high in the morning and low in the late afternoon during the most of seasons, but the high AODs at 14:00 and 15:00 LST in summer and fall, respectively. The direct negative radiative forcing of most chemical components (especially, $NO_3{^-}$ of water-soluble) was highest in January and lowest in September. Conversely, the positive radiative forcing of BC was highest in November and lowest in August due to the distribution pattern of BC concentration.

제주 애월 대기오염집중측정소의 PM2.5 에어로졸 화학성분 자료를 이용한 광학특성 및 직접적 복사강제력 추정 연구 (Estimations of the Optical Properties and Direct Radiative Forcing of Aerosol Chemical Components in PM2.5 Measured at Aewol Intensive Air Monitoring Site on Jeju Island)

  • The optical properties and direct aerosol radiative forcing (DARF) of different aerosol components in $PM_{2.5}$ (water-soluble, insoluble, black carbon (BC), and sea-salt) were estimated using the hourly resolution data measured at Aewol intensive air monitoring site on Jeju Island during 2013, based on a modeling approach. In general, the water-soluble component was predominant over all other components with respect to its impact on the optical properties(except for absorbing BC) and DARF. The annual mean aerosol optical depth (AOD) at 500 nm for the water-soluble component was $0.14{\pm}0.14$ ($0.04{\pm}0.01$ for BC). The total DARF at the surface ($DARF_{SFC}$) and top of the atmosphere ($DARF_{TOA}$), and in the atmosphere ($DARF_{ATM}$) for most aerosol components(except for sea-salt) during the daytime were highest in spring and lowest in fall and/or summer. The maximum $DARF_{SFC}$ of most aerosol components occurred around noon (12:00~14:00 LST) during all seasons, while the maximum $DARF_{TOA}$ occurred in the afternoon (13:00~16:00 LST) during most seasons (except for spring). In addition, the estimated $DARF_{SFC}$ and $DARF_{ATM}$ of the water-soluble component were -20 to $-59W/m^2$ and +3.5 to $+14W/m^2$, respectively, while those of BC were -18 to $-29W/m^2$ and +23 to $+37W/m^2$, respectively.

  • The properties of near-field diffraction by small aperture are investagated and using of optical fiber taper as a small aperture are proposed. Near-field diffracted by aperture smaller than one wave length can overcome the resolution of conventional microscopy and optical component. In this paper production methods of sub-wave length optical fiber taper using solenoid are also proposed.

  • For the assembly and evaluation of solid immersion lens (SIL) optical head which is the key component of SIL based near field recording (NFR) technology, we modify the Twyman-Green interferometer. Super-hemisphere SIL optical head for the surface recording is assembled and evaluated by the modified Twyman-Green interferometer. In order to verify the optical performance of the assembled SIL optical head, we compare the measured results of the SIL optical head with the simulation ones. Finally, we show the feasibility of applying the assembled SIL optical head to near field recording system by the experiment of the dynamic gap control based on test bed.

광 픽업 성능 평가기 캘리브레이션 (Calibration of an Optical Pick-up Performance Evaluator)

  • Optical pick-up is a core component for data read/write operations in optical disc drives, and an optical pick-up performance evaluator is an instrument used to analyze the overall performance of an optical pick-up. Due to inevitable errors in an analog measurement circuit, resultant evaluation data is not guaranteed to be accurate. In this paper, a calibration method for an optical pick-up performance evaluator is proposed to ensure evaluation accuracy. Measured data is corrected by a 1st order correction function, and a calibration process based on least-square method is utilized to obtain correction coefficients of the correction function. The proposed calibration method is applied to experiments, and enhanced accuracy is presented with resultant evaluation data.

직관형 LED램프의 구성부품별 광손실에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optical Losses for Tubular LED Lamp's Components)

  • The high efficiency tubular LED lamp has been developed. But, it occurs optical losses in consists of LED package, module, diffuser etc.. By Measuring the tubular LED lamp's luminous flux, we compared and analyzed about the effect of optical losses for each component and actually using measured luminous intensity distribution data, illuminance distribution was simulated by Relux. Optical losses are 24[%] from LED package to luminaire and the tubular LED lamp can be replaced with fluorescent lamp. In this paper, we could provide data for optimum lighting design by analyzing the optical characteristics for developing and propagating the tubular LED lamp.

Also, research is developed by optical fiber for Coherent communication recently.
