  • Blu-ray Disk, the next generation optical information storing equipment used Blu-ray is the next generation leading storing equipment that has capacity is about from six times to thirty-five times bigger than the existing CDs, DVDs. Especially, we need elaborate optical pick-Up equipment to record and recognize detailed date. Moreover, Blu-ray disk has so narrow track-pitch so it is used high NA(Numerical Aperture) aspheric glass objective lens. In this research, we processed optical pick-up aspheric glass objective lens molding press core by parallel grinding method with ultra precision machining and mold core surface measured form accuracy(PV), surface roughness(Ra).

  • We have investigated optimization of the working distance (WD) for a highly miniaturized imaging probe for endoscopic optical coherence tomography (OCT). The WD is the axial distance from the distal end of the imaging probe to its beam focus, which is demanded for dimensional margins of protective structures, operational safety, or full utilization of the axial imaging range of OCT. With an objective lens smaller than a few hundred micrometers in diameter, a micro-optic imaging probe naturally exhibits a very short WD due to the down-scaled optical structure. For a maximized WD careful design is required with the optical aperture of the objective lens optimally filled by the incident beam. The diffraction-involved effect was taken into account in our analysis of the apertured beam. In this study, we developed a simple design formula on the maximum achievable WD based on our diffraction simulation. It was found that the maximum WD is proportional to the aperture size squared. In experiment, we designed and fabricated very compact OCT probes with long WDs. Our 165-㎛-thick fiber-optic probes provided WDs of 3 mm or longer w ith reasonable OCT imaging performance.

After contact lens wear, most subjects don't known the corrected visual acuity, especially, almost people don't known the binocular visual acuity. 7. At present, on soft contact lens color, the teens like the non-color contact lens, twenties like the color contact lens, but thirties was not known. 8. On the advantage of soft contact lens knowledge, most teens and twenties were only one, thirties was unknown. 9. On the disadvantage of soft contact lens knowledge, most teens and thirties were only one, twenties were two. 10. On the side effect of soft contact lens wearer, teens was one, and twenties and thirties don't known. 11. On the main symptoms of soft contact lens wearer, total kinds were seven, On these kinds, most subjects were not symptoms, the next order was unknown on the symptom. But, On the symptoms, the main symptoms was the pain and dry eye. 12. At present, the research on the surface morphology of soft contact lens by inverted microscope, the lens repture, lens folding, foreign body immersion and etc were present. Above the study, most contact lens was soft lens, and the purchase was the optical shop, on the other hand, the knowledge of soft contact lens and visual acuity was few. As a results, On the practical problems of soft contact lens wear, the optician have to the soft contact lens treatment and aftercare by law and educational supporting.

  • Purpose: To design a mini optical system photographing the iris, which is used in the iridology. Methods: We designed a mini optical system photographing the iris by using the Sigma 2000 design program. Results: We designed a mini optical system photographing the iris, which is suitable in the CCD using a micro actuator for auto-focusing, of which characteristics have the TCL of 30 mm, a magnification of -0.65, about 8.0 mm distance from the 1st lens to the last lens, the max barrel diameter of 11 mm, and about 1 mm of the effective stop diameter. Also the resolution line width of this system is characterised by 92 lps/mm at the 30% MTF value criterion. Conclusions: By designing an optical system of which characteristics have the TCL of 30 mm, about 8.0 mm distance from the 1st lens to the last lens, the max barrel diameter of 11 mm, and the resolution line width of $5.4{\mu}m$ at the 30% MTF value criterion, we could miniaturize the iris photographing optical system.

  • The demand fer small and high-capacity optical data storage devices has rapidly increased. The areal density of optical disk is increased by using higher numerical aperture objective lens and shorter wavelength source. A wafer-scale stacked micro objective lens with a numerical aperture of 0.85 and a focal length of 0.467mm for the 405nm blue- violet laser was designed and fabricated. A diffractive optical element (DOE) was used to compensate the spherical aberration of the objective lens. Among the various fabrication methods for micro DOE, the UV-replication process is more suitable fur mass-production. In this study, an 8-stepped DOE pattern as a master was fabricated by photolithography and reactive ion etching process. A flexible mold was fabricated for improving the releasing properties and shape accuracy in UV-replication process. In the replication process, the effects of exposing time and applied pressure on the replication quality were analyzed. Finally, the surface profiles of master, mold and molded pattern were measured by optical scanning profiler. The geometrical deviation between the master and the molded DOE was less than $0.1{\mu}m$. The diffraction efficiency of the molded DOE was measured by DOE efficiency measurement system which consists of laser source, sample holder, aperture and optical power meter, and the measured value was $84.5\%$.

  • In this study, we present a symmetry graphical method to design an achromatic optical system composed of many lenses on an achromatic glass map. To take into account the lens spacing and the number of lenses, we use the relative ratio of paraxial ray height at each lens and the concept of an equivalent single lens. Converting an arbitrary optical system into various doublet systems, the most effective doublet is then selected to correct the color aberration, through material selection and the redistribution of the optical power. By designing a fisheye lens using this approach, an achromatic optical system is effectively obtained over the visible waveband.

  • This paper described an off-axis head-mounted display system. It is composed of a 7-piece coaxial relay lens group and a freeform surface combiner. This configuration has a simple structure and a wide field of view (FOV). In this design, a freeform surface is chosen as the combiner, to simplify the structure and attain good image quality. We generated this freeform surface by considering both coordinates and normals of discrete data points. Moreover, we realize a coaxial structure in the relay lens group, which is compact and benefits from a loose tolerance requirement. The HMD system we finally realized has a 40° × 30° FOV and 15-mm exit pupil diameter.

  • In this study, the internal structure of an optical waveguide embedded in a flexible optical circuit board is observed with a confocal microscope. In order to increase the light reflection from an internal material interface with a very small index difference, and thus enhance the signal contrast, a theta microscopy scheme has been integrated into a conventional confocal microscope, and a high NA oil-immersion lens has been used. The interface reflectivity is increased from roughly 0.0015% to 0.025% by the proposed method, and the internal structure can thus be successfully measured.
