The "First Step to Nobel Prize in Physics" is an annual competition in research projects in physics for secondary (high) school pupils organized by the Institute od Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences. This year the second competition of that type has been completed. Pupils from 36 countries took part in the first two competitions, what certainly should be treated as a great success. We have organized the above competition for the following reasons. During our contacts with secondary school pupils we discovered that some of them try to perform different physical investigations by themselves: at schools, in some laboratories and even at home. Then we decided to organize the National Competition in Pupils' Research Projects in Physics and next - after gaining some experience in the national scale - the international competition "First Step to Nobel Prize in Physics". Our aim was to recognize the effort of the pupils, give them a chance to compare their own achievements with the achievements of their colleagues and organize their work. One should underline that the "First Step" refers to quite different features (long term research work) of the pupils than the International Physics Olympiad (solving well formulated physics problems). The prizes in our competition are not typical. Instead of buying some items for our winners we decided to invite them to our Institute for a research stay. In our opinion in case of people whose hobby is physics such a form of prize is more valuable and more instructive than anything else. The aim of this article is to discuss a genesis of the competition, to present conditions of participation and to discuss the results.

In this article three types of neuro-biological epistemology have been studied and applied to mathematics. Nativism or innatism is favored by many evolutionary psychologists and some mathematicians. They believe domain specific brain functions or modules, particularly language faculty and number instinct in infants. Number/mathematical cognition is a new research area and scientists try to localize areas related with mathematics. Selectionism has adopted Darwinism to synapse growth and supports neuronal regression. Mathematical creativity can be explained using selectionism. Neural constructivism has originated from J. Piaget and supports neuronal/synapse growth in children or adults if adequate exercise and practise is given. Unlike Piaget, neural constructivists accepts the importance of structured experience for the reorganization of brain. Authors opinion is all these theories of epistemology is equally important and they all give insights on how the brain and self is made.

Recently, the subject of reliability attracts a great deal of domestic and international attentions and the extensive research activities are being conducted as well. Such trend exists mainly due to the fact that the research on the subject of reliability not only contributes to the theoretical developments, but also may find a wide range of applications in practice over several fields. In particular, the research regarding the maintenance policy incorporating certain types of warranty for repairable system and its application is being performed extensively by many researchers, and their efforts seem more concentrated on developing new maintenance policies which minimize the expected operating cost incurred for replacement and repair of the system, while keeping the system at high reliability. Effective maintenance policy may reduce the operating cost and decrease the downtime of the system during its mission period and consequently, increase the productivity of the system. In this article, the major areas of interest in the field of reliability and its historic perspectives are given briefly and the theoretical aspects in several fields of reliability including the maintenance and warranty policies is also discussed. Furthermore, the current domestic situation regarding the education and research on reliability is presented, along with the importance of reliability theory and the difficulty of training reliability personnel. Finally, the author's opinion for effective education system is proposed.

India is having a high growth rate of Mobile subscribers which has opened up a new marketing channel of communication with customers. There is a need to study the factors affecting Mobile user's attitude towards Mobile marketing and the relationship between these factors. To study the mobile users attitude towards mobile marketing 489 mobile users opinion is taken on 12 statements for a period of 5 months. Using factor analysis method these 12 statements are grouped into 5 groups they are Mobile advertisement, Mobile Usability, Mobile Promotions, Mobiles shopping and Mobile Marketing. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed to confirm the findings. SPSS Statistics 17.0 is used to conduct factor analysis and the validity of the model. Once the model was validated, SPSS Amos 18.0 was used to fit a model based on Structure Equation Model to analyze the factors affecting Mobile user's attitude and the relationship between these factors. The present study revealed that Mobile Advertisement and Mobile Sales Promotion are having positive effect on Mobile Marketing where as Mobile Shopping and Mobile Phone Usability is having negative effect on Mobile Marketing. The impact of indicators like Mobile Phone user's permission and personalization of Mobile Phone communication on Mobile Marketing are also discussed in this article.

Christianity has desperately opposed to embryonic stem cell research, regarding it homicide. It made the opinion public many times and has tried to lead Christian to recognize the situation and make an appropriate decision with no actual result. It means that many other factors than religion have an effect on the process of making decision. This article aims to summarize the attitude of Christian believer towards embryonic stem cell research and identify the factors interacting in the developing situation. Also, it try to show how the factors have an influence on the others and Christian believers interpret and accept the information, finally leading to make a conclusion that religious factor have only a narrow influence on the formation and development of the believers' attitude.

Online game industry and item trade have grown up fast after 2000. And there has been a perspective that online game and item trade are the cause of the crimes, especially cyber crime like hacking, virus. But there was no positive research about the opinion, so this article studies the relations among online game, item trade and crime. The results suggest that online game and item trade maybe a cause of cyber crime and property crime. But online game and item trade don't increase the total number of crime. That means that online game and item trade substitute the way how crime happens. Online game and item trade substitute no-property crime to property crime.

The purpose of this study was to explore the structures of consciousness on the experiences of formation and adjustment in multicultural families. A qualitative study was designed in this article. The research participants were 10 dyads of immigrant married women and their mothers-in-law. Before the marriage, the mother-in-law's expectation about her daughter-in-law was not high, and the daughter-in-law held the same opinion of her mother-in-law. During the marriage process, the mother-in-law had difficulties in terms of physical, emotional, and material aspects. The daughter-in-law endured the wedding procedure by holding onto hope and anticipation for the future. After the marriage, the mother-in-law eventually became satisfied with her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law grew to feel thankful for her new family members and expressed that she was living a happy life. Consequently, the essence of formation and adjustment in multicultural families was "obtaining precious family members through the undergoing of trial and error."

As public acceptance of nuclear energy in Korea worsens due to the Fukushima accident and the earthquakes that occurred in the Gyeongju area near the Wolsong nuclear power plant (NPP), estimating the effects of earthquakes has become more essential for the nuclear industry. Currently, most countermeasures against earthquakes are limited to large-scale disasters. Minor-scale earthquakes used to be ignored. Even though people do not feel the shaking due to minor earthquakes and minor earthquakes incur little damage to NPPs, they can change the environmental conditions, for instance, underground water level and the conductivity of the groundwater. This study conducted a questionnaire survey of residents living in the vicinity of an NPP to determine their perception and acceptance of plant safety against minor earthquakes. The results show that the residents feel earthquakes at levels that can be felt by people, but incur little damage to NPPs, as minor earthquakes (magnitude of 2.0-3.9) and set this level as a standard for countermeasures. Even if a minor earthquake has little impact on the safety of an NPP, there is still a possibility that public opinion will get worse. This study provides analysis results about problems of earthquake measures of Korean NPPs and specific things that can bring about an effect of deterioration of public acceptance. Based on these data, this article suggests that active management of minor earthquakes is necessary for the sustainability of nuclear energy.

We analyze public opinion via a sentiment analysis of tweets collected by using recent topic keywords extracted from newspaper articles. Newspaper articles collected within a certain period of time are clustered by using K-means algorithm and topic keywords for each cluster are extracted by using term frequency. A sentiment analyzer learned by a machine learning method can classify tweets according to their polarity values. We have an assumption that tweets collected by using these topic keywords deal with the same topics as the newspaper articles mentioned if the tweets and the newspapers are generated around the same time. and we tried to verify the validity of this assumption.

It is clearly stated in the current records law that presidential records should be collected and kept. Despite of the significance of this regulation it is also undeniable that there must be some preconditions for the enactment of this legal regulations. First, it needs the compatible device for promoting the production of presidential records. Second, it must be considered that presidential records should be selected and transferred from the Committee for taking over presidency. And last, we are confronted by the problem of establishing presidential archives. After all, from the starting point we should overcome a number of serious problems for the administration of the presidential records. In this article I tried to discuss these problems and to make some suggestions for the solution of these problems. In my opinion, revision of the records law is in some points necessary. Basic principle of management of presidential records must be discussed for the revision and enactment of 'presidential archives and presidential records law'. Just several problems concerning managing agency of presidential records are pointed out here. Presidential records have important historical values. The government must be responsible for the preservation and sound management of them. The citizenship also must support the reform of the records management. It means an open and public discussion on the reform of national records management system.
