Objectives : The study designed to analyze annual, seasonal tendency of outpatients in ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic of Korean Medical hospital from 2012 to 2016. Methods : We investigated annual, seasonal population-social characteristics such as sex or age, departmental characteristics such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dermatology, many others, main diagnosis, cost characteristics of treatment period and frequency of treatment those who were received treatment as outpatients in Dunsan Korean Medical Hospital ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic from March 2012 to March 2016. The data was obtained from EMR chart, and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0. Results : We analyzed population-social characteristics, utilization of new patients in the year, in the season, and we obtained various results. Conclusions : In the analysis of annual, seasonal utilization patterns that outpatients offered in ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic of Korean Medical hospital from 2012 to 2016, the report draws 3 different conclusions.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to figure out the changes in sex, age, disease distribution of outpatients in ophthalmology and otolaryngology of Korean medicine. Methods : We analyzed the medical records of 2,834 outpatients who visited department of ophthalmology and otolaryngology of Korean medicine at Kyung Hee university Korean medicine hospital between 2018 and 2022. And we compared the results with those of studies from 2000, 2007, and 2017, considering sex, age, and diseases. Results : 1. The total number of patients in ophthalmology and otolaryngology increased compared to 2012-2016, with a higher proportion of patients aged 50 and above in all departments. 2. The number of patients in ophthalmology has been continuously decreasing since 1996-1998. 3. The number of patients in otology has increased significantly compared to 2012-2016, with a trend towards a lower proportion of tinnitus and hearing loss. 4. The number of patients in rhinology has not recovered from the significant decrease in 2012-2016, and rhinitis continues to constitute a significant proportion. 5. The number of patients in laryngology has increased significantly compared to 2012-2016, with a trend towards a less proportion of laryngopharyngitis. Conclusion : The active utilization of diagnostic equipment, further research and promotion of Korean medicine treatment for ophthalmology and otholaryngology diseases are essential for expanding the treatment domain within ophthalmology and otolaryngology of Korean medicine.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to develop a Pattern Diagnosis Instrument of Acne in traditional Korean Medicine. Methods : Data was collected by structured survey papers from 20 professors of The Korean Oriental Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology Society(Delphi method). We investigated importance rates of the symptoms of each Pattern in the survey papers, then calculated Weighted Value of the symptoms. Results : Nine objective symptoms and nine subjective symptoms were selected by investigated importance rate in the survey from 20 professors of The Korean Oriental Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology Society. In Wind-Heat pattern(WHP, 風熱型), inflammatory lesion of acne was the most important symptom. Oily skin, nodule and effect of menstruation are the most important symptoms in Dampness-Heat pattern(DHP, 濕熱型), Phlegm-Stasis pattern(PSP, 痰瘀型) and Disharmony of the thoroughfare and conception vessels pattern(DTCVP, 衝任不調型) each. Conclusions : The results might provide backgrounds and methods for clinical care of acne and follow-up study.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to retrospectively analyze 3 years of inpatient ophthalmology consultation to Korean medicine ophthalmology, otolaryngology & dermatology department in Korean medicine hospital. Methods : We classified ophthalmological inpatient consultations between September 1st, 2019 and August 31st, 2022, based on electronic medical record by gender, age, hospitalized department, categories of diseases. Results : Total number of consultations were 111, and the average of age was 63.6. The proportion of female and male were 2.5:1. Among the 136 cases of eye disease referred, lacriminal production and discharge diseases accounted for the most at 54 cases(39.7%), of which 44 cases were dry eyes syndrome. Excluding dry eye syndrome, conjunctival disease occurred the most with 24 cases(17.6%). Consultations from department of Korean rehabilitation medicine, and Korean internal medicine were most common, because they have a comparatively large number of inpatients and long hospitalization period. Conclusions : This study identified the frequency of consultation and the disease group with many requests for each department. When inpatients complain of eye disease, consultation to Korean medicine ophthalmology, otolaryngology & dermatology department should be encouraged as accurate diagnosis and treatment using specialized equipment is possible and can be used for the purpose of progress observation and examination.
