We report how to establish the dynamic index for production control in a pilot fabrication over versatile and diverse production environments. We used dynamic index provided by a simulation model to monitor production performance. When production control is abnormal, the information system prompts administrators to classify these abnormal situations. In addition, the trend over the operation index is continuously reviewed in short-term and long-term. This simulation model is handy at setting goal for a versatile and diverse pilot production fab.

This paper propose a heuristic algorithm based on the Branch-Exchange (BE) method to solve Optimal feeder Routing(OFR) problem for the distribution system planning. The cost function of the OFR problem is consisted of the investment cost representing the feeder installation and the system operation cost representing the system power loss. We propose a properly designed heuristic strategy, which can handle the horizon-year expansion planning problem of power distribution network. We also used the loop selection method which can define the maximum loss reduction in the network to reduce calculation time, and proposed a new index of power loss which is designed to estimate the power loss reduction in the BE. The proposed index, can be considered with both sides, the low voltage side and voltage side branch connected with tie one. The performances of the proposed algorithms and loss index were shown with 32, 69 example bus system.

This paper presents an Unified Index which can evaluate a performance of a distribution system based on value-based methodology. Reliability cost and voltage sags cost are calculated for each load point using Reliability Sector Customer Damage Function(SCDF). Aging cost is calculated for each load point using Aging SCDF. Power loss cost and operation cost are calculated for the system. By summation of each cost of load point and system, power quality cost can be obtained. Finally, this paper developed an unified index which can show the performance of a distribution system. Presented method has been applied to a real system, the usefulness of the method has been verified.

Most traditional database systems exploit a record-oriented model where the attributes of a record are placed contiguously in a hard disk to achieve high performance writes. However, for read-mostly data warehouse systems, the column-oriented database has become a proper model because of its superior read performance. Today, flash memory is largely recognized as the preferred storage media for high-speed database systems. In this paper, we introduce a column-oriented database model based on flash memory and then propose a new column-aware flash indexing scheme for the high-speed column-oriented data warehouse systems. Our index management scheme, which uses an enhanced $B^+$-Tree, achieves superior search performance by indexing an embedded segment and packing an unused space in internal and leaf nodes. Based on the performance results of two test databases, we concluded that the column-aware flash index management outperforms the traditional scheme in the respect of the mixed operation throughput and its response time.

The management systems of defense projects need to be well-maintained because of huge cost and long-terms of acquisition & operation in conducting defense acquisition. In this paper, we use a structural equation model(SEM) to develop an project management index(PMI) for effective defense project. The concept of a customer satisfaction index is used to assess the PMI for strategic improvement plans for various characteristics of project management. It is expected that our model can be used to evaluate and improve the project management capability of defense acquisition.

Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the incidence and risk factors for surgical glove perforation during operation. Methods: During the month of december 2008, a total of 1,400 pairs of surgical gloves used in major operations was collected in a tertiary hospital. All gloves were examined immediately after operation using the standardized water-leak method to detect any perforation. Incidence of the glove perforation was counted according to the type of operation, operation time, the number of involved personnel, perforation sites, and the manufacturing companies. Results: Out of 2,800 gloves examined, 312 perforations were detected comprising 11.1% of samples. In terms of the type of operation, the perforation incidence varied from 5% to 20%, and the perforation rates in CS (20%) and NS (18%) (p<.001) were significantly higher than those in other departments. The 1st assistant or scrub nurse got glove perforation more frequently than the 2nd assistant or operator (p<.001). Longer operation time was associated with higher incidence of perforation evidently (p<.001). In terms of the sites, the thumb and index finger were more frequently perforated than other sites (4.1% and 3.4% respectively) without any differences between left and right side. Conclusion: Risk factors for glove perforation including the department of operation, operation time, participating personnel, and location of perforation should be taken into account to improve surgical safety.

In this study, response time index(RTI) of standard and quick response type sprinkler head are measured and compared through ramp and plunge test in heated wind tunnel. Also discharge rate and water distribution, actual delivered density(ADD), fire test with wood cribs are performed to compare the fire suppression capability and the operation time and temperature between standard and quick response type sprinkler head.

Interior noise, engine speed and vehicle speed are measured under transient road-load condition and interior noise signal is transformed by using the transient signal analysis methods, such as the spectrogram and wavelet transform. Using the analyzed results, subjective noise metrics such as the loudness, sharpness and articulation index at each vehicle speed can be estimated and characteristics of interior noise for various running modes can be discussed in the viewpoint of noise quality.

Bronchopulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital malformation of the lung, concerning about the abnormal feeding systemic artery, may happen a serious complication of heeding during operation if not recognized before operation. High index of suspicion of sequestration is the key to successful operative procedure with the aid of characteristic recurrent and long-standing symptoms, its location, and invasive or non-invasive diagnostic tools. We report 2 cases of intralobar type of bronchopulmonary sequestration and review 10 articles about the subject, totaling of 21 cases.

Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is an index lesion for all paediatric and congenital heart surgeons. In designing an appropriate operation for children with TOF, the predicted postoperative physiology must be taken into account, both for the short and long term. A favourable balance between pulmonary stenosis (PS) and pulmonary insufficiency (PI) may be critical for preservation of biventricular function. A unified repair strategy to limit both residual PS and PI is presented, along with supportive experimental evidence. A strategy for dealing with coronary anomalies and some comments regarding best timing of operation are also included.
