  • Consideration for parallel operation in a high power system has been increased due to the advantages of parallel operation like as high productivity, simplicity of design, and redundancy of power. This paper discussed the parallel operation of DC-DC Converter, Which Can be used as a high power system, is studied. Based on the small signal model of DC-DC Converter, the simple and exact power stage model of parallel operation system is derived and the parallel operation system using current balance method for the uniform current distribution among the parallel operation system is discussed. To verify the high performance of the proposed DC-DC converter system for parallel operation, the simulation test of the parallel operation, which has 2 Converter modules, is accomplished.

  • The bus should supply an equal service to the whole community as feeder trip. However the existing bus route can not supply an effective feeder service in spite of the changes in the latent demand by the variety of regional structural change. This study aimed to establish the concept which frames the bus operation and management to cope with the latent demand to the bus. This study tackled this evidence by analyzing the transportation problems in terms of the urban growth emphasizing the following issues ; First, the strategy to improve the bus operation Second the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third economical range to justify the bus operation Second, the land use control appropriate for the public transportation network Third, economical range to justify the bus operation Fourth, the allowance for the private transportation mode On the latter part, the difference on the bus operation was compared to determine the range within which the bus operation could be justified. This study would provide some implications to improve the management for bus operation and fundamental information to develop the bus operation system.

  • Background : The necessity of unify and standardize codes used at hospital has been emphasized since OCS (Order Communicating System) was adopted. Therefore, the purpose of this study were to standardize operation code by continuous training of the ICD-9-CM code that is used as standard code in OCS program at operating room. Method : In 400 operation data, operation code entered in OCS program at operating room was compared to operation name recorded in medical record. In addition, a matching rate between input data of operation code by medical record department and computing input data of operation code in 3,710 cases was compared for each department. User operation name and operation code were matched and major diagnosis by operation department and operation name were also matched. Results : User operation name was reflected in operation classification code in detail, and operation code entered on user was registered. Input rate and matching rate of operation code were gradually improved after improvement activity. In particular, a matching rate was high at ophthalmology where operation name is segmented. Plastic surgery and orthopedics with a lot of emergency operation and comprehensive operation name show low input rates. Conclusions : As the medical field makes progress in computerlization, awareness of information exchange and sharing becomes higher. Among codes to classified medical institution, codes related to surgical operation are all different by user of hospital and department. Computerlization and standardization is essential. And when efforts of standardization continue in alliance with individual hospital and institution, initiative of preparing medical policy data at a national level will be accelerated.

  • Urban transit operation is to manipulate the vehicle or train of urban transit to be operated on the basis of the installations such as track, power, communication, signaling and so on. It can be performed by manual or automated, or manned or manless operation considering its system built, operation efficiency, safety, etc. Because of the heavy impact directly to the safety of passenger transport, it has been managed strictly by the Regulation for Train Operation of Urban Transit according to Urban Transit Act. However, the present regulation has been basis of the manual operation mainly, it is crossing beyond the limitation of application to the manless operation which is being introduced moment to moment. It is needed increasingly to revise the regulation for the manless operation which is close at hand now. In this paper, we examined and analysed the cases of manless operation of urban transit planed within the country such as Busan 4th Line, Shinbundang Line, Busan-Kimhae Line, etc. based on the present regulation, and proposed the review of considerations to reflec the manless operation to the regulation to be revised.

  • The air ventilation system of operation rooms has been studied to prevent the cross infection during the operation. Operation rooms and air ventilation systems of three University hospitals were investigated. The distribution of microbe was measured by cultivating air samples in the operation room. A two-dimensional model for the cross-section of an operation room was developed for the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis. The characteristics of air flow in the empty operation room and in occupied operation room were calculated by using a CFD program. The current diffuser location of an old hospital did not deliver the clean air to the operation part efficiently. A new method to locate diffusers that improve air venting with little increase of the cost of equipment was suggested.

  • This paper presents a development of operation scheduling and reactive operation scheduling system for hull fabrication. The methodology for implementing operation scheduling system is HHGA(Hierarchical Hybrid Genetic Algorithm) which exploits both the global perspective of the genetic algorithm and the rapid convergence of the heuristic search for operation scheduling. The methodology for the reactive operation scheduling is the revised HHGA which consists of manual schedule editor for occurrence of exceptional events and the revised scheduling method used in operation scheduling. As the results of experiment, it has been confirmed that HHGA is able to search good operation scheduling within reasonable time, and the revised HHGA is able to search load-balanced reactive operation scheduling with minimum changes of initial operation schedule within short period of time.

  • While many studies on early algebra have been conducted, there have been only a few studies on the operation sense as the fundamental element of algebraic thinking, especially the fraction operation sense. This study explored the dimensions of fraction operation sense and then investigated students' fraction operation sense. A total of 183 of sixth graders were surveyed and 5 students who showed high operation sense were clinically interviewed in order to analyze their algebraic thinking in detail. The results showed that students had a tendency to use direct calculation or employ inappropriate operation sense rather than to use the structure of operation or the relation between operations on the basis of algebraic thinking. This study implies that explicit instruction on early algebra is necessary from the elementary school years.

  • Decision of operation performance mode to minimize the energy consumption of urban rail vehicle. This paper analyses how much acceleration and deceleration of urban rail vehicle should be applied andhow to choose an operation mode to minimize energy consumption when train runs between station within the fixed operation time. The decided operation pattern satisfying the minimum energy consumption becomes a target trajectory and a basis for the controller design criteria. To make this goal it grasps the characteristics of urban rail vehicle, realize operation energy model of urban rail vehicle and verify the accuracy of embodied model the Matlab simulation with the same operation result of real route. It searches for operation pattern to minimize operation energy by changing the acceleration and deceleration on the imaginative route and proposes operation pattern minimizing energy consumption by applying real operation data between Dolgogee-Sukgye section of Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 6.

  • One of the important issues raised from the Fukushima-Daiichi accident is the safety of multi-unit sites when simultaneous accidents occur at the site and recently a multi-unit PSA methodology is being developed worldwide. Since all operation modes of the plant should be considered in the multi-unit PSA, the accident analysis needs to be performed for shutdown operation modes, too. In this study, a station blackout during the mid-loop operation is selected as a reference scenario. The overall accident progression for the mid-loop operation is slower than that for the full-power operation because the residual heat per mass of coolant is about 6 times lower than that in the mid-loop scenario. Though the fractions of Cs released from the core to the RCS in both operation modes are almost the same, the amount of Cs delivered to the containment atmosphere is quite different due to the chemisorption in the RCS. While 45.5% of the initial inventory is chemisorbed on the RCS surfaces during the full-power operation, only 2.2% during the mid-loop operation. The containment remains intact during the mid-loop operation, though 83.9% of Cs is delivered to the containment.
