Sommerlad씨 술식에 따른 미세수술 술기를 이용한 구개성형술의 경험 (A Clinical Experience of Cleft Palate Repair Using Operative Microscope: Sommerlad's Method)

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the method of palate repair that combines minimal hard palate dissection and radical retropositiong of levator musculature, which was presented by Sommerlad. As this method presents, additional use of the operating microscope enables atraumatic and radical dissection, and it might provide more improved speech function to the patients. A total of 17 patients with cleft palate underwent Sommerlad's method from December 2003 to August 2004. The mean follow-up period was 4.5 months. The use of a microscope provided high quality variable magnification and good illumination at the operating field. Repair was carried out through incisions at the margins of cleft with mucoperiosteal flap elevation. Muscles were rearranged and repaired properly. It was unable to evaluate the improvement of speech because the patients were too young to learn meaningful speech. Average operating time including anesthetic induction time, V-tube insertion and recovery from anesthesia was 2 hours 45 minutes which was not quite different from conventional method's operating time. Oronasal fistula developed in 2 patients of them. One of them was healed spontaneously. As meticulous and radical muscle dissection was possible with Sommerlad's method, we could minimize the trauma to the muscular and neurovascluar structure. In addition, we expect better faculty of speech as a result of this method although longer follow-up time was unavailable.

A Study on Electro-optical Characteristics in Three Kinds of Liquid Crystal Display Operating Mode

  • In this study, we investigated response characteristics of liquid crystal display (LCD) with different operating mode of nematic liquid crystals (NLCs) such as 45 $^{circ} twisted nematic (TN), 67.3 $^{circ} TN and electrical controlled birefringence (ECB) on the rubbed polyimide (PI) surface with side chains. The pretilt angles generated on polyimide surfaces of the three kinds of LCD operating modes were about 12 $^{circ} that was higher than those of conventional TN-LCOs. Also, the Electro-optical (EO) performance of these LCOs showed stable condition. Low transmittance of the 45 $^{circ} TN and 67.3 $^{circ} TN cell on the rubbed PI surface were measured by using low cell gap d. The fast response time in ECB cell among the three kinds of LCD operating modes was achieved. Also, thermal ability of fast 90 $^{circ} TN-LCD was investigated. The threshold voltage and the response time of thermal stressed TN-LCOs showed the same performances on no thermal stressed TN-LCOs. There was little change of value in these TN cells. However, the transmittances of TN-LCOs on the rubbed PI surface decreased while increasing thermal stress time. Therefore, the thermal stability of TN-LCD was decreased by the high thermal stress for the long duration.

  • 디지털 TV, 인터넷 셋탑박스, 인터넷 전화기 등과 같은 정보가전 제품이 속속 등장하면서 이들 제품의 기능을 제어하는데 필수적인 실시간 운영체제 시장이 크게 성장하고 있다. 한국전자통신연구원에서는 소형의 휴대 정보 단말에서부터 디지털 셋탑박스 및 홈 서버까지 다양한 종류의 정보가전 기기에 공통으로 사용될 수 있는 확장 가능한 표준 실시간 운영체제 Qplus-P를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 정보가전용 실시간 운영체제 Qplus-P에 탑재되는 C표준 라이브러리의 설계 및 구현에 대해 기술한다. Qplus-PC표준 라이브러리는 레드햇에서 실시간 운영체제 국제 표준으로 제안된 EL/LX 응용 프로그램 인터페이스 단계에 따라 설계되었다. 그리고 Qplus-P 응용 프로그램 수행에 필요한 Tiny-X, 카페 등을 지원하기 위해 추가적으로 필요한 함수들도 구현되었다. 구현된 C표준 라이브러리는 EL/IX 응용프로그램 인터페이스 단계를 적용하지 않은 C표준 라이브러리보다 라이브러리 크기를 30% 정도 줄일 수 있었다.

실시간 운영체제를 위한 저전력 EccEDF 알고리듬 (Low Power EccEDF Algorithm for Real-Time Operating Systems)

  • 배터리 기반의 실시간 내장형 시스템에서는 실시간성을 만족시키기 위한 고속의 성능뿐만 아니라 배터리의 수명을 늘리기 위한 높은 에너지 효율이 요구된다. 실시간 동적전압조정(Real-Time Dynamic Voltage Scaling : RT-DVS)은 이러한 두 가지 요구사항을 만족시키기 위한 핵심기술이다. 본 논문에서는 ccEDF에 기반한 고 효율의 동적전압조정 알고리듬인 EccEDF를 제안한다. EccEDF는 ccEDF의 최대 장점중 하나인 구조적 단순성을 유지하면서 ccEDF 알고리듬의 보수성에 의해 간과된 소요시간(elapsed time)을 고려하여 태스크의 종료시 슬랙에 의해 절감될 수 있는 최대 이용률을 정확하게 계산할 수 있는 알고리듬이다. 절감될 수 있는 최대 이용률은 조기종료 시점에서 잔여수행시간($C_i-cc_i$)을 잔여시간($P_i-E_i$)으로 나누어 계산할 수 있으며, 플루이드 스케줄링 모델을 이용하여 이를 증명한다. 또한 인텔사의 동적전압조정 프로세서 중 초기 모델인 PXA250과 0.28V에서 1.2V까지 폭넓은 동적전압조정 능력을 가진 최신 IA-32 프로세서의 모델을 사용한 시뮬레이션을 통해 실제 응용에서도 EccEDF가 ccEDF 보다 우수함을 입증한다.

  • BIPV(Building Integrated PV) system can expect dual effects that reduce expenses for establishment of PV system by adding new function as outer covering material of building expect producing the electricity. In case of PV(photovoltaic system) there are many generation differences according to the exterior environmental facts(solar cell array, design and installation condition of interactive inverter system). In this paper, we compared constitute factors of 3kW BIPV(solar cell module, inverter), operating characteristic and total system characteristic(utilization, generation efficiency, loss fact) and found out long time operating data using a watch instrumentations. By use of long time operating result, compare a totally operating characteristics, and we proposed a next building application of BIPV. BIPV system that is proposed in this paper, was established in Solar Energy research center of Chosun University, composed with system. The objective of this paper, is to provide a efficient BIPV design method through the considerations for the integration of PV system.

자동 연마 로봇 시스템의 개발 및 통합 구동 환경 구축 (Development of Automatic Polishing Robot System and Integrated Operating Program)

  • Polishing a die that has free-form surfaces is a time-consuming and tedious job, and requires a considerable amount of high-precision skill. In order to reduce the polishing time and cope with the shortage of skilled workers, an automatic polishing robot system was developed. The polishing robot system is composed of two subsystems, a three-axis machining center and a two-axis polishing head. The machining center is controlled by a FANUC controller, and the polishing head by DSP controller. The system has five degrees of freedom and is able to keep the polishing tool normal to the die surface during operation. To easily operate the developed polishing robot system, this study developed an integrated operating program in the Windows environment. The program consists of five modules: a polishing data generation module, a code separation module, a polishing module, a graphic simulator module, and a teaching module. And, the automatic teaching system was developed to easily obtain teaching data and it consists of a three dimensional joystick and a proximity sensor. Also, to evaluate the performance of the integrated operating program and the polishing robot system, polishing experiments of a die of shadow mask were carried out.

Non-OS 임베디드 시스템에서 개선된 알고리즘을 적용한 요구 페이징 기법 (Demand Paging Method Using Improved Algorithms on Non-OS Embedded System)

  • In this paper, we try to improve the performance of the demand paging loader suggested to use the demand paging way that is not based on operating system. The demand paging switching strategy used in the existing operating system can know the recently used pages by running multi-processing. Then, based on it, some page switching strategies have been made for the recently used pages or the frequently demanded pages. However, the strategies based on operating system cannot be applied in single processing that is not based on operating system because any context switching never occur on the single processing. So, this paper is trying to suggest the demand paging switching strategies that can be applied in paging loader running in single process. In the Return-Prediction-Algorithm, we saw the improved performance in the program that the function call occurred frequently in a long distance. And then, in the Most-Frequently-Used-Page-Remain-Algorithm, we saw the improved performance in the program that the references frequently occurred for the particular pages. Likewise, it had an enormous effect on keeping the memory reduction performance by the demand paging and reducing the running time delay at the same time.

Business Collaborative System Based on Social Network Using MOXMDR-DAI+

  • Companies have made an investment of cost and time to optimize processing of a new business model in a cloud environment, applying collaboration technology utilizing business processes in a social network. The collaborative processing method changed from traditional BPM to the cloud and a mobile cloud environment. We proposed a collaborative system for operating processes in social networks using MOXMDR-DAI+ (eXtended Metadata Registry-Data Access & Integration based multimedia ontology). The system operating cloud-based collaborative processes in application of MOXMDR-DAI+, which was suitable for data interoperation. MOXMDR-DAI+ applied to this system was an agent effectively supporting access and integration between multimedia content metadata schema and instance, which were necessary for data interoperation, of individual local system in the cloud environment, operating collaborative processes in the social network. In operating the social network-based collaborative processes, there occurred heterogeneousness such as schema structure and semantic collision due to queries in the processes and unit conversion between instances. It aimed to solve the occurrence of heterogeneousness in the process of metadata mapping using MOXMDR-DAI+ in the system. The system proposed in this study can visualize business processes. And it makes it easier to operate the collaboration process through mobile support. Real-time status monitoring of the operation process is possible through the dashboard, and it is possible to perform a collaborative process through expert search using a community in a social network environment.

Metal Hydride Chemical Heat Pump의 최적 작동조건에 관한 연구 (Optimum Operating Conditions of Metal Hydride Chemical Heat Pump)

  • Prototype metal hydride chemical heat pump was constructed using $LaNi_{4.7}Al_{0.3}$ for high temperature hydride and $MmNi_{4.15}Fe_{0.65}Al_{0.2}$ for low temperature hydride, and the effects of operating conditions on the performace of heat pump were investigaed to find out the optimum operating condition. Operating variables considered in this work were cycling time, temperature of hot air blown to the high temperature reactor, the amount of hydrogen gas with which the system was charged initially, and the flow rate of air at both reactors. Power of heat pump increases monotonically as $T_h$ increases, and shows maxima at 4.8H/M and 15-25 min in $H_2$ charged and cycling time respectively. Power of heat pump increases as air flow rate increases at low flow rate, but saturates to some value confined by heat flow rate through the hydride bed, These all phenomena can be explained by the modified power equation.
