Endodontic management of a maxillary first molar with three roots and seven root canals with the aid of cone-beam computed tomography

  • Variation in root canal morphology, especially in maxillary first molar presents a constant challenge for a clinician in their detection and management. This case report describes the successful root canal treatment of a three rooted right maxillary first molar presenting with three canals each in the mesiobuccal and distobuccal roots and one canal in the palatal root. The clinical detection of this morphologic aberration was made using a dental operating microscope, and the canal configuration was established after correlating and computing the clinical, radiographic and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan findings. CBCT images confirmed the configuration of the canals in the mesiobuccal and distobuccal roots to be Al-Qudah and Awawdeh type (3-2) and type (3-2-1), respectively, whereas the palatal root had a Vertucci type I canal pattern. This report reaffirms the importance of careful examination of the floor of the pulp chamber with a dental operating microscope and the use of multiangled preoperative radiographs along with advanced diagnostic aids such as CBCT in identification and successful management of aberrant canal morphologies.

EP Based PSO Method for Solving Multi Area Unit Commitment Problem with Import and Export Constraints

  • This paper presents a new approach to solve the multi area unit commitment problem (MAUCP) using an evolutionary programming based particle swarm optimization (EPPSO) method. The objective of this paper is to determine the optimal or near optimal commitment schedule for generating units located in multiple areas that are interconnected via tie lines. The evolutionary programming based particle swarm optimization method is used to solve multi area unit commitment problem, allocated generation for each area and find the operating cost of generation for each hour. Joint operation of generation resources can result in significant operational cost savings. Power transfer between the areas through the tie lines depends upon the operating cost of generation at each hour and tie line transfer limits. Case study of four areas with different load pattern each containing 7 units (NTPS) and 26 units connected via tie lines have been taken for analysis. Numerical results showed comparing the operating cost using evolutionary programming-based particle swarm optimization method with conventional dynamic programming (DP), evolutionary programming (EP), and particle swarm optimization (PSO) method. Experimental results show that the application of this evolutionary programming based particle swarm optimization method has the potential to solve multi area unit commitment problem with lesser computation time.

실차 운행정보를 활용한 온실가스 배출지표 분석 방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis Method of Emission Intensity of GHGs utilizing Real World Vehicle Driving Information)

  • In this study, the emission intensity calculation method of GHGs was developed by considering the characteristics of the models and time series. The telematics device was installed on the car (OBD-II) to collect information on the operation conditions from each sample vehicle of public authorities. Based on emission intensity of GHGs, it presented a methodology of quantitative comparison of GHGs emission by vehicles. Collected driving information of vehicle was used for operating characteristics analysis of the target vehicle, and it was confirmed different operating characteristics through comparison of the results and previous study. GHGs emission intensity were analyzed considering characteristics of vehicle type by passenger car, van, cargo, and considering characteristics of the time series by summer, winter, and intermediate. From the analysis result, it was calculated GHGs emission intensity based on mileage ($g\;CO_2\;eq./km$) and operating time ($g\;CO_2\;eq./sec$).

  • With the opening of 1st phase and 2nd phase in Gyeongbu High Speed Line, KTX(The Korea Train Express) and Sancheon(2nd generation of High Speed Train) are operating commercially on entire line. Gyeongbu High Speed Line can be separated as several sections. In this entire line, a few types of train has operating by it's own pattern. However, commercial speed of the line compared with the maximum speed of Train is rather slow. Through this study, I found the reason of the slow speed on the Catenary system and suggested a solution.

  • This paper deals with an analysis of SCR thyristor switching pattern for a power quality disturbance generator with phase jump function. The proposed generator can be applied to the performance test of custom power devices. Voltage sag, swell, outage, unbalance and phase jump after outage are provided by the generator. The phase jump operating principle of the generator is described and analysed. Especially, a proper switching of the SCR thyristors for the proposed generator is important to guarantee the system reliability. Therefore the switching patterns for the thyristors in each made were analysed.

  • This paper proposes the Train Control System for the LRT(light rail transit). With regard to information processing in car, we build a computer network in the car, turned the hardware required for train control into software, and developed the Train Control Monitoring System(TCMS) and ATC. Drive Type of Train control system car can drive with Driverless mode basically, and this paper applied 10Mbps special communication type for car control, data analysis, The propulsion efforts and breaking effort can control the cars. It is used Vector Control in Propulsion control and proposed Operating pattern for Propulsion control thinking Operating data of Rubber Tire LRT.

  • In this paper, a step type driver dipole antenna with a tapered balance and unbalance (balun) by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) to coplanar strip (CPS) transition is proposed. The proposed antenna consisted of step type driver, a CPW to CPS transition and tapered balun. The proposed antenna is realized the multi and wide resonate frequency band to introduce the step type driver and tapered balun. The step type driver is acted as a director too. This antenna could be more easily designed than the conventional printed quasi-Yagi dipole antenna. The operating frequency bandwidth was 650 [MHz] (2.65~3.3 GHz), 900 [MHz] (4.7~5.6 GHz) under a return-loss criterion of less than 10 dB. The measurements of the proposed antenna exhibited good results in the wideband operating frequency and radiation pattern. The proposed antenna can support wireless communications applications.

  • A numerical study was conducted to determine the effects of high temperature air, including equivalent ratio on flow field, temperature, evaporation, and overall temperature distribution in gas turbine combustor. A sector model of a typical wall jet can combustor, featuring introduction of primary air and dilution air via wall jet, was used in calculations. Flow field and temperature distribution were analyzed. Operating conditions such as inlet temperature and overall equivalent ratio were varied from 373 to 1300 K, and from 0.3 to 0.6, respectively, while any other operating conditions were fixed. The RNG ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model and eddy breakup model were used for turbulence and combustion model respectively. It was found that the increase with the inlet air temperature, velocity in the combustor is accelerated and evaporation of liquid fuel is not affected in primary zone, high temperature inlet air enhances the evaporation and improves overall temperature distribution factor.

  • This paper presents a novel circuit topology of a high efficiency single-phase power conditioner. This power conditioner is composed of time-sharing sinewave absolute pulse width modulated boost chopper with a bypass diode in the first power processing stage and time-sharing sinewave pulse width modulated full-bridge inverter in the second power processing stage operated by time-sharing dual mode pulse pattern control scheme. The unique operating principle of the two power processing stage with time-sharing dual mode sinewave modulation scheme is described with a design example. This paper proposes also a sinewave tracking voltage controlled soft switching PWM boost chopper with a passive auxiliary edge-resonant snubber. The new conceptual operating principle of this novel power conditioner related to new energy utilization system is presented and discussed through the experimental results.

  • This paper deals with the power loss analysis of voltage source type space voltage vector modulated soft switching inverter, and proposed the new voltage vector correction principle during one sampling period on realize high quality cutput voltage waveforms for two soft-swiching approches. The operating pinciple of a single active auxiliary resonant DC link snubber circuit is described. Moreover, the effectiveness of soft switching inverter operating under the corrected voltage pattern is proved on the basis of simulation and experimental results.
