6,500 TEU Container 선박의 Opening을 고려한 Cargo Hold Bulkhead Stringer 구조의 Strength 검토 (Review for C/H Bulkhead Stringer with Opening)

  • Openings for access to cargo holds are cut on horizontal stringers in every bulkhead of container carriers. But, they are positioned at the edge of stringer width to make minimum space for access and these openings are required to be stiffened by owners and classifications respectively. In this paper, the cargo hold bulkhead stringers with openings for 6,500 TUE container carriers were reviewed by FE analysis to be conducted with the results of hold analysis for 6,500 TUE container carriers classed to GL, DNV, LR and BV respectively, and purpose of this paper is to establish yard's standard of the reinforcement for these openings.

개구부를 갖는 철근콘크리트 깊은 보의 전단거동에 대한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Shear Behavior of R/C Deep Beems with Web Opentings)

  • The shear behavior of reinforced concrete deep beams with web opennings has been scrutinized experimentally to verify the influences of the structural parameters such as size, shape, location and reinfrocements of web openings, and shear span ratio. A total of 22 specimens has been tested under one or two point loading conditions at the laboratory. In the tests most specimens have shown shear failures with inclined cracks from the loacing points to the supports through openings. The ultimate strengths of the specimens measured from the tests have shown wide differences depending on the locations of the openings which deter the formation of the compression struts between the loading points and the supports. The effects of the reinforcements and the geomtry of the openings on the shear strengths and the crack developments have been carefully checked and analyzed.

건물 간 이격거리 협소에 따른 개구부 방화설비의 개선방안 (Improvement of fire protection equipment the opening of according to narrow the distance between buildings)

  • In the case of the fire to the exterior of the building through openings, the openings of the adjacent building are exposed to the risk of combustion expanding and factors that affect the combustion in the radiant heat and direct flame. Recent five years, fire of the adjacent building indicated that incidence of the 5,134(2.27%) among total 225,934 cases occurred The damage scale of fire expanded was lower than in a single building but casualties(5.46%) and property(25.0%) damage were higher. Therefore, this study provides to analyze the operating status for fire protection equipment of fire-preventing area in the Seoul and to apply measures to improve fire protection equipment according to narrow the distance between the building openings studied.

방음터널 내부의 상부배출구 간격에 따른 CO 농도분포 특성 (The CO Gas Concentration Characteristics in a Sound Proof Road Tunnel According to the Upper Opening Installation Distance Interval)

  • When we construct a road near an apartment complex, we consider a soundproof wall. To make residential places quieter, we may consider a soundproof road tunnel. Such a tunnel, however, would become highly concentrated with soot from vehicles whenever a traffic jam might occur. To create an optimum design, this study utilizes the PHOENICS-VR software. The work considers three cases: (1) no openings (2) openings at 30m intervals, and (3) openings at 60m intervals on the upper side of the tunnel. The study finds that in the second case shows CO concentration distributions were 15% less than those without openings. And the CO concentration distributions of the second and third cases are almost the same. The findings suggest that we should make the soundproof tunnel to reduce construction fees.

Experimental investigation of infilled r/c frames with eccentric openings

  • The influence of masonry infills with eccentric openings on the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (r/c) frames that were designed in accordance with current code provisions are investigated. Eight 1/3-scale, single-story, single-bay frame specimens were tested under cyclic horizontal loading up to a drift level of 4%. In all examined cases the shear strength of columns was higher than the cracking shear strength of solid infill. The parameters investigated include the shape and the location of the opening. Assessment of the behavior of the frames is also attempted, based on the observed failure modes, strength, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation capacity and degradation from cycling loading. Based on these results there can be deduced that masonry infills with eccentrically located openings has been proven to be beneficial to the seismic capacity of the bare r/c frames in terms of strength, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipation. The location of the opening must be as near to the edge of the infill as possible in order to provide an improvement in the performance of the infilled frame.

  • 지금까지 수행된 개구부가 존재하는 벽체에 대한 연구는 대부분 RC 벽체에 대해서 수행되었으며, SC(Steel plate Concrete) 벽체에 설치되는 개구부에 대한 연구는 수행된 예가 적다. 최근에 국내에서 개발된 SC 벽체는 원전구조물에 일부 적용되고 있지만, 관련 설계기준인 KEPIC-SNG에서도 개구부를 갖는 SC 벽체에 대한 설계법은 명확하게 정의되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 원전구조물내 벽체에 설치되는 SC 벽체를 대상으로 개구부가 구조내력에 미치는 영향을 해석적 방법에 의해서 평가하였다. 비선형 해석 결과, 개구부가 설치되는 SC 벽체는 개구부 주변의 보강 여부가 내력에 미치는 영향이 크기 때문에 개구부 주변에 일정범위 이상의 보강이 이루어져야 하며, 개구부 주변이 보강된 경우는 개구부의 형상, 크기, 위치 및 설치개수에 관계없이 충분한 내력 및 연성을 확보할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Numerical investigation of web crippling strength in cold-formed stainless steel lipped channels with web openings subjected to interior-two-flange loading condition

  • In cold-formed stainless steel lipped channel-sections, use of web openings for service purposes are becoming increasingly popular. Web openings, however, result in the sections becoming more susceptible to web crippling. This paper presents a finite element investigation into the web crippling strength of cold-formed stainless steel lipped channel-sections with circular web openings under the interior-two-flange (ITF) loading condition. The cases of web openings located centred and offset to the bearing plates are considered in this study. In order to take into account the influence of the circular web openings, a parametric study involving 2,220 finite element analyses was performed, covering duplex EN1.4462, austenitic EN1.4404 and ferritic EN1.4003 stainless steel grades. From the results of the parametric study, strength reduction factor equations are proposed. The strengths obtained from reduction factor equations are first compared to the strengths calculated from the equations recently proposed for cold-formed carbon steel lipped channel-sections. It is demonstrated that the strength reduction factor equations proposed for cold-formed carbon steel are unconservative for the stainless steel grades by up to 17%. New coefficients for web crippling strength reduction factor equations are then proposed that can be applied to all three stainless steel grades.

개구부가 있는 고층 벽식 구조물의 효율적인 3차원 해석 (Efficient Three Dimensional Analysis of High-Rise Shear Wall Building with Openings)

  • 현재 국내에서는 벽체와 바닥판으로만 구성된 벽식 구조형식의 아파트 건물이 많이 사용되고 있다. 또한 청력에 대한 저항이 뛰어나기 때문에 전단벽 코어를 갖는 입체골조구조물이 고층 빌딩의 구조시스템으로 자주 이용된다. 기능적인 이유로 인해 이러한 구조물들의 전단벽에는 하나 또는 여러 개의 개구부가 발생하게 된다. 개구부가 있는 전단벽을 정확하게 해석하기 위해서는 여러 개의 유한요소를 사용하여 구조물을 세분모형화하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나, 전체 구조물을 유한요소로 세분하여 모형화하는 것은 막대한 해석시간과 컴퓨터 메모리를 소요하게 된다. 개구부의 수, 크기, 위치에 상관없이 적용할 수 있는 효율적인 해석기법이 본 논문에서 제안되었다. 제안된 해석기법에서는 슈퍼요소와 부분구조, 행렬응축, 가상보 등을 이용하였고 제안된 해석기법의 효율성을 검증하기 위해 벽식구조물과 전단벽 코어를 갖는 입체골조구조물의 3차원 해석이 수행되었다. 예제구조물의 해석을 통해 제안된 해석기법이 해석시간과 컴퓨터메모리를 크게 감소시키고, 정확한 해석결과를 얻을 수 있음이 확인되었다.

Experimental studies on the aerodynamic performance of two box girders with side openings

  • A butterfly web girder is a box-shaped girder with discretely distributed side openings along the spanwise direction. Until now, there have been few studies related to the aerodynamic performance of the butterfly web bridge. The objective of the current study was to clarify the effects of the side openings on the aerodynamic performance of the girder. Two butterfly web girders with side ratios B/D = 3.24 and 5, where B is the girder width and D is the depth, were examined through a series of wind tunnel tests. A comparison of the results for butterfly web girders and conventional box girders of the same shape confirmed that the side openings stabilized the vortex-induced vibration and galloping when B/D = 3.24, whereas the vortex-induced vibration and torsional flutter were stabilized when B/D = 5. The change in the flow field due to the side openings contributed to the stabilization against the vibration. These findings not only confirmed the good aerodynamic performance of the butterfly web bridge but also provided a new method to stabilize the box girder against aerodynamic instabilities via discretely distributed side openings.

반복하중을 받는 H형강 유공보의 소성 및 국부좌굴 거동 (Inelastic and Local Buckling Behavior of H-Beams with Web Opening under Cyclic Loadings)

  • 유공부재의 탄성 및 비탄성 거동을 나타내기 위하여 많은 연구가 이루어져왔으나 단축하중상태의 연구에 집중되어있는 실정이다. 또한, 국부좌굴을 고려한 유공보 설계에 대한 식들은 일반적으로 Darwin의 연구결과를 토대로 하여 사용되고 있으나, 그 연구결과가 단조하중에 집중되어있어 반복하중과 국부좌굴을 고려한 연구의 필요성이 제기되었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 반복하중상태에서의 7개의 원형유공보에 대한 실험이 행해졌다. 실험체의 형상 및 변수는 Darwin에 의해 제안된 설계과정에 기초를 두었다. 본 실험을 통하여, 기존 설계식의 타당성, 소성힌지의 영향, 유공 부분의 반복국부좌굴의 영향 등이 관찰 연구되었다.
