스파이럴 그루브 드라이 가스 시일의 윤활 성능해석 - Part I: 유한요소 해석 및 기본 성능평가 (Lubrication Performance Analyses of Spiral Groove Dry Gas Seals - Part I: EE Analysis and Basic Performance Evaluation)

  • In this study a general Galerkin FE lubrication analysis method for the compressible Reynolds equation in cylindrical coordinates is presented. Then, the method is applied for analyzing lubrication performances of spiral groove dry gas seals. The effects of toning and number of groove on performance indices are evaluated at low and high rotating speeds: 3,600 and 15,000 rpm. Results show that, for the primary design consideration performances such as the opening force and axial and angular stiffnesses, a negative or small coning and a large number of groove are preferred.

Long face와 Normal face인 성인에서의 교합력에 관한 연구 (A study of biting force in long face and normal face adults)

  • Until now it has not surely been pointed out about the relation between the biting force and the facial types in scientific view. But it's correlation was assumed by several scientists : recently some literatures reported about the maximum biting force and facial types, but there's only a little articles about the relation between the biting force(biting force contain maximum biting force, chewing force and swallowing force) and facial type. So this study was, firstly, performed to establish the relation of the nomal face and long face versus biting force. 2ndly it was performed to establish the relation between the difference in mouth opening degrees versus biting force. 3rdly it was performed to establish the relation between male and female versus biting force. Biting force was measured from 56 adults (normal 26, long 30) whose samples was selected from Yonsei university students and Hospital patients. Sample was divided into 2groups (normal and long) by lateral cephalogram. The results of this study was obtained as follows. 1. Maximum biting force and chewing force in long face was smaller than normal face. 2. When the thickness of transducer was changed from 6m to 9mm, maximum biting force andchewingforcewaslargerthanbefore. 3. In case of comparing with male and female, male was larger than female in maximum biting force and chewing force.

승용차의 개폐력 보조 문 (Power-Assisted Door for a Passenger Vehicle)

  • SD (Smart Door) is a human friendly power-assisted door system initially targeted for passenger car doors. The Smart Door offers comfort and safety to passengers or/and drivers by supplying additional power. Amount of power supplied by the Smart Door system is depend on the environment where the automotive is situated. It realizes comfort, for example, when the force applied by the passenger to the door is expected to be abnormal, the SD system tries to compensate passenger's effort by supplying additional force. In this study, to enhance the ease of opening and closing the doors of the passenger vehicle, a Smart Door with a power assist mechanism consisting of a motor was developed and analysed. A power assist mechanism mounted within the vehicle's door is designed and modeled for simulation purpose. The required force necessary to control the designed mechanism during the vehicle's roll, pitch and the opening angle of the door has been considered. To this end, we propose a power-assisting control strategy called "gravity cancellation". The system is analysed by numerical simulation with the gravity cancellation control algorithm.

  • 최근의 냉장고 등에 채택되고 있는 프렌치 도어는 2개의 도어를 사용하지만, 내부에 칸막이가 없어 내부 공간을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 프렌치 도어는 2개의 도어와 몸체와의 밀폐를 위해 부착된 개스킷이 서로 간섭을 일으키기 때문에 개스킷의 마모로 인해 밀폐성능에 치명적인 영향을 미치고 도어의 개폐력이 증가되는 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 프렌치 도어의 개폐를 위해 4절 링크기구의 동작을 이용한 개폐 메커니즘을 개발하였다. 또한, 개발된 4절 링크기구를 설계 및 제작한 후 실제 냉장고에 적용하여 간섭이 발생하지 않음을 검증하였고, 개방력도 저감됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 메커니즘은 냉장고뿐만 아니라 프렌치 도어를 채택하는 다른 가전제품이나 산업제품에도 적용될 수 있다.

비선형 캠과 스프링을 이용한 오븐 렌지 도어의 열림 감성 품질 향상 메커니즘 개발 (Development on mechanism for opening sensitivity quality improvement of oven range door using nonlinear cam and spring)

  • 대부분의 오븐 렌지는 위에서 아래로 여는 도어로 되어 있다. 오븐 렌지와 같이 열고 닫는 가전제품의 경우 도어의 감성이 제품 전체의 품질에 영향을 준다. 도어의 감성 품질을 평가하는 항목은 문을 열 때의 개방력, 문을 닫을 때의 폐쇄력, 문을 완전 개방하였을 때 발생하는 튕김 현상이 있다. 개방력과 폐쇄력이 크면 소비자의 불만 요소가 될 수 있고, 튕김 현상이 크면 소비자가 도어를 열었을 때 도어는 물론 몸체에도 충격이 가해져서 파손의 우려가 있다. 감성 품질을 향상시키기 위해서는 개방력, 폐쇄력, 튕김 현상을 최소화하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 개방력, 폐쇄력, 튕김 현상을 최소화하기 위해 비선형 캠과 스프링을 이용하여 기존의 이중 압축 스프링과 캠 구조를 개선한 메커니즘을 제안하였다. 또한, 제안된 메커니즘을 위해 비선형 캠을 설계 및 제작한 후 실제 오븐 렌지에 적용하여 기존보다 감성 품질이 우수함을 확인하였다.

쌍끌이 중층망의 전개성능에 대한 모형실험 (Model Test on the Opening Efficiency of the Midwater Pair Trawl Net)

  • 쌍끌이중층망은 1993년에 우리 나라에 처음으로 도입된 이후 그 보급이 급속하게 확산되어 현재는 대부분의 온 쌍끌이 기선저인망어선이 중층망을 사용하고 있다. 그런데, 이 어구를 운용함에 있어서 망목의 크기가 12,800mm의 것으로 커지면서 어구현황 및 전개성능에 대한 충분한 연구가 이루어지지 않아서 대상어종 및 해양환경에 따른 어구어법과 운용기술의 정립이 미흡하고, 그물목줄의 가닥수가 많으며 뜸이 그물코에 끼여서 파망이나 안전사고의 원인이 된다는 점이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위하여 현재 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 최대망목 12,800mm인 중층망의 구조적인 결함을 보완하여 설계한 개량형의 모형망을 제작하여 회류수조에서 그물목줄의 길이와 가닥수 및 침강력의 변화에 따른 어구의 전개성능을 실험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 그물목줄의 길이는 옆줄에 연결된 2번과 3번 목줄의 길이를 현행의 것에 비하여 약 30%를 더 짧게 한 어구의 전개성능이 약 7% 향상되었다. 2. 그물목줄의 가닥수는 4가닥형이 가장 우수하며, 3가닥형, 2가닥형의 순으로 전개성능이 저하되었다. 특히, 2가닥형의 경우에는 유속이 빨라짐에 따라 옆판의 중앙부가 뒤쪽으로 뚜렷하게 처지는 것이 관찰되었다. 3. 침강력을 크게 할수록 어구의 전개성능은 우수해지며, 그물목줄을 3가닥형, 2가닥형으로 하는 경우는 침강력을 4가닥형일 때의 각각 약 1.5배, 1.6∼l.7배 정도로 크게 해 주어야 기존어구와 같은 전개성능을 나타낼 수 있었다.

An Investigation about Dynamic Behavior of Three Point Bending Specimen

  • Computer simulations of the mechanical behavior of a three point bend specimen with a quarter notch under impact load are performed. The case with a load application point at the side is considered. An elastic-plastic von Mises material model is chosen. Three phases such as impact bouncing and bending phases are found to be identified during the period from the moment of impact to the estimated time for crack initiation. It is clearly shown that no plastic deformation near the crack tip is appeared at the impact phase. However it is confirmed that the plastic zone near the crack tip emerges in the second phase and the plastic hinge has been formed in the third phase. Gap opening displacement crack tip opening displacement and strain rate are compared with rate dependent material(visco-plastic material). The stability during various dynamic load can be seen by using the simulation of this study.

Performance Improvement of Weis-Fogh Type Ship's Propulsion Mechanism Using Spring Type Elastic Wing

  • This experiment was conducted in attempt of improving hydrodynamic efficiency of the propulsion mechanism by installing a spring to the wing so that the opening angle of the wing in one stroke can be changed automatically, compared to the existing method of fixed maximum opening angle in Weis-Fogh type ship propulsion mechanism. Average thrust coefficient was almost fixed with all velocity ratio with the prototype, but with the spring type, thrust coefficient increased sharply as velocity ratio increased. Average propulsive efficiency was larger with bigger opening angle in the prototype, but in the spring type, the one with smaller spring coefficient had larger value. In the range over 1.0 in velocity ratio where big thrust can be generated, spring type had more than twice of propulsive efficiency increase compared to the prototype.

  • A polymeric film of a biodegradable poly(1,5-dioxepan-2-one) (PDXO) was formed on a gold surface by a combination of the formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) presenting hydroxyl groups and the surface-initiated, ring-opening polymerization (SI-ROP) of 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO). The SI-ROP of DXO was achieved by heating a mixture of $Sn(Oct)_2$, DXO, and the SAM-coated substrate in anhydrous toluene at $55^{\circ}C$. The resulting PDXO film was quite uniform. The PDXO film was characterized by polarized infrared external reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry, atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry, and contact angle goniometry.

유공 합성보의 강도식에 관한 연구 (Ultimate Strength of Composite Beams with Unreinforced Web Opening)

  • A practical approach of calculating the ultimate strength of composite beams with unreinforced web opning is proposed through shear behavioral tests. In this method, the slab shear contribution at the opening is calculated as the smaller value of the pullout capacity of shear connector at the high moment end and the one way shear capacity of slab. A simple interaction equation is used to predict the ultimate strength under simultaneous bending moment and shear force. Strength prediction by the proposed method is compared with previous test results and the predictions by other analytical methods. The comparison shows that the proposed method predicts the ultimate capacity with resonable accuracy.
