In this paper, we designed, implemented, and verified the SLAM system that can be used on mobile devices. Mobile SLAM is composed of a stand-alone type that directly performs SLAM operation on a mobile device, and a mapping server type that additionally configures a mapping server based on FastAPI to perform SLAM operation on the server and transmits data for map visualization to a mobile device. The mobile SLAM system proposed in this paper is to mix the two types in order to make SLAM operation and map generation more efficient. The stand-alone type SLAM system was configured as an Android app by porting the OpenVSLAM library to the Unity engine, and the map generation and performance were evaluated on desktop PCs and mobile devices. The mobile SLAM system in this paper is an open source project, so it is expected to help develop AR contents based on SLAM in a mobile environment.

Purpose: To evaluate the clinical outcomes and radiographic results of open reduction and internal fixation for intraarticular calcaneal fractures. Materials and Methods: We reviewed 20 cases of calcaneal fractures managed with open reduction and internal fixation from March 2003 to January 2005. We used the computed tomographic classification system proposed by Sanders et al to classify these fractures. Preoperative and postoperative Bohler's angle, heel height (calcaneal facet height) and calcaneal length, calcaneal width were measured. The Creighton-Nebraska Health Foundation Assessment score was used for clinical evaluation. Results: There were 12 cases of type II fractures, 5 of type III fractures and 3 of type IV fractures. The mean clinical score was 84.3 for type II, 82.6 for type III and 56.1 for type IV. The mean preoperative $B{\ddot{o}}hler$ angle was $6.1^{\circ}$ and final was $22.8^{\circ}$. The mean preoperative calcaneal facet height was 76.6 mm and final was 80.3 mm (The mean calcaneal facet height was changed from preop 76.6 mm to postop 80.3 mm). The mean preoperative calcaneal length was 88.2 mm and final was 92.6 mm. The mean preoperative width was 38.1 mm and final was 35.6 mm. Conclusion: Open reduction and internal fixation showed good results for type II and III fractures, but for type IV fractures the clinical result was significantly worse than the other types. However, type IV fractures still had restoration of (should be restored in) $B{\ddot{o}}hler's$ angle, calcaneal facet height, calcaneal length and width which may be helpful in later subtalar fusion.

In this study, The experimental open-tube-type and close-tube-type thermoacoustic refrigerator were constructed. The resonant characteristics of a thermoacoustic refrigerator were investigated. In order to determine the optimum resonant tube length and frequency, We changed the length of resonant tube from 400mm to 850mm and the frequency from 100Hz to 1000Hz. In case of first harmonic, the temperature difference of open-tube-type (1/4 wave) refrigerator was $41^{\circ}C$(resonator length :500mm). The temperature difference of close-tube-type (1/2 wave) refrigerator was $43^{\circ}C$(resonator length :850mm). In this experiments, the experimental 1/2 wave refrigerator is slightly cooler than the experimental l/4 wave refrigerator.

In this paper, experiments of air-breathing proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) for mobile devices were carried out according to the cathode conditions. These conditions are defined by the cathode flow field plate type (the channel type, the open type) and the cathode surface direction. Single cell and 6-cell stack were used in this experiments. The experimental results showed that the open type cathode flow field plate gave better performance for small size PEMFCs because the open type cathode plate allowed better air convection than the channel type cathode plate. In the experiments related to the direction of the slits on the cathode flow field plate, the horizontal slit cell was better than the vertical slit cell. With respect to the cathode surface direction, when the cathode surface is placed in the direction normal to the ground, PEMFC generated more stable power in the mass transport loss region.

In a general centrifugal pump, if it is operated in a two-phase flow the activity of the impeller usually degrades and occasionally losses its function. However, the effect of break down of centrifugal pump due to entrained air has not been clarified yet. This paper shows the air-water two-phase flow characteristics of closed type and semi-open type impellers. In a sing1e-phase flow, closed-type impeller has higher efficiency and head. But in air-water two-phase flow semi-open type impeller's rates of decreases of efficiency and head are decreased.

Purpose: To analyze the clinical and radiological results of operative treatment in patients with tongue type intra-articular calcaneal fracture, and to compare the open reduction and Essex-Lopresti technique. Materials and Methods: We examined a consecutive series of 42 patients who received surgical treatment for tongue type calcaneal fracture (24 cases of the open reduction and 18 cases of the Essex-Lopresti technique) and the postoperative data was compared with a minimum 1 year follow-up. The clinical outcome was analyzed using the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) hindfoot scale and Salama's criteria. The preoperative, postoperative, and last follow-up changes in the Bohler angle was radiologically analyzed. Results: There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of the clinical and radiological results at the last follow-up. However, for the Sander's type 3 and 4 fractures, the open reduction group showed more improvement of AOFAS score and less reduction loss in the Bohler angle. Conclusion: Although the clinical results were good irrespective of surgical technique, the open reduction and internal fixation can improve clinical outcome and reduce the reduction loss as compared with the Essex-Lopresti technique in the comminuted tongue type calcaneal fracture.

This study aims at developing the high speed/intelligent machining system suing the plug/play method of an open architecture controller. The plug/play technology by the Application Specific Function (ASF), can readily implement the open architecture controller into various machining system or other automatic equipments. For the open architecture controller, this study developed the open HMI, screen editor, ASF, visual builder, and controller OS technology as software components. On the other hand, we developed the I/O module and main board as control hardware system. This study, as an example, presents integration of individual component technologies for the plug/play type open architecture CNC system.

Recently. the high-tc superconducting fault col-rent limiters (SFCL) are studied worldwide to be classified as a resistive type or an inductive type such as a magnetic shielding type and a inductive type. The high-tc SFCL wish an open core belongs to the magnetic shielding type SFCL. Unlike conventional magnetic shielding type SFCLS it uses the open core to reduce the mechanical vibrations and installation space, The high-tc SFCL with an open core was designed and manufactured by stacking three BSCCO 2212 tubes. It was tested in the maximum source voltage of 400 Vrms. The results such as the reduction of fault current and impedance of the SFCL are described in this paper. The results show that the fault current in the source voltage of 400 Vrms was reduced to be about 123 Apeak. about 3.9 times greater than the normal state current. Also, the impedance of the high-tc SFCL was about 9${\Omega}$ about 9 times greater than the normal state impedance. The impedance of the SFCL appears just after the fault, and its size is dependent on the source voltage. From the impedance, the inductance of the SFCL was calculated.

This paper suggests two strategies for the restoration of the Seongbukcheon in Seoul. One is the neighborhood-type development and the other is the construction of the flat open spaces. For the neighborhood-type development, the characteristic of each of the streets which are connected with Seongbukcheon was comprehended and the differentiated approaches for each of them were taken. For the construction of the flat open spaces, the necessity of the flat public open spaces was verified and the strategies for this was suggested.

Purpose : This study was performed to distinguish the muscle activation of vastus medialis and biceps femoris through open and closed kinetic chain exercise. Methods : 31 healthy male and female students in Daegu Health College were participated in this study. All subjects were conducted three types open and closed kinetic chain exercises to examine muscle activity during the last four seconds using the sEMG system. Collected EMG data were normalized using the maximal voluntary isometric contraction(MVIC). Results : MVIC of each muscle was showed significantly increased(p<0.5). In the case of open chain exercise, the type 3 exercise most increased than type 2 and 3 exercise in vastus medialis than biceps femoris muscle. The closed chain exercise presented type 6 exercise most increased than type 4 and 5 exercise in biceps femoris than vastus medialis. Conclusion : This study finally proved that muscle activity which maintains stability of knee differ from depending on the types of exercises. Therefore, the combination of the two chain exercises is believed to greatly contribute to increments in muscle activity.
