  • In an IP network, various types of traffics are statistically multiplexed to utilize efficiently the network resources. The DiffServ-aware-MPLS supports a wide variety of communication services with different QoS requirements. The DiffServ-aware-MPLS based on QoS architecture had become one of the most promising ways to guarantee QoS Multi-service IP network. But how to manage IP network with QoS guarantee is still an open issue.   • This paper presents a now approach to the design of intelligent contorl system for track vehicle system using fuzzy logic based on neural network. The proposed control scheme uses a Gaussian function as a unit function in the neural network-fuzzy, and back propagation algorithm to train the fuzzy-neural network controller in the framework of the specialized learning architecture. Moreover, We develop a Windows 95 version dynamic simulator which can simulate a track vehicle model in 3D graphics space. It is proposed a learning controller consisting of two neural network-fuzzy based of independent reasoning and a connection net with fixed weights to simply the neural networks-fuzzy. The dynamic simulator for track vehicle is developed by Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by Silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics. The performance of the proposed controller is illustrated by simulation for trajectory tracking of track vehicle speed.

  • This paper deals with the issue of Neural Network-based control for a rodless pneumatic cylinder system which is utilized for a pneumatic XY-plotter. In order to identify the system design parameters, the open loop response of a pneumatic rodless cylinder controlled by a pneumatic servovalve is investigated by applying a self-excited oscillation method. Based on the system design parameters, the PD feedback compensator is designed and then Neural Network is incorporated with it. The experiment of a trajectory tracking control using a PD-NN has been performed and proved its excellent performance by comparing with that of a PD feedback compensator.

Reconnecting the Dots for the Payment Service Directive 2 - Compatible Asian Financial Network

  • Unlike the popular belief, digital transformation mainly gets stymied by legal and regulatory issues related with legacy institutions in Asia rather than technical difficulties. The real challenges triggered by the PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) are how the region would overcome the overly fragmented, centralized, and hierarchical legacy framework to allow necessary changes to respond to the digital single market initiatives as promulgated by the European counterpart. The PSD2 is expected to bring about substantial changes in the payment ecosystem by allowing payment service providers to access customers' accounts and transactions information via API that have been traditionally controlled by banks. This paper suggests an incentive-compatible mechanism design for open collaboration among legacy institutions in the region to help them adapt to the PSD2. As evidenced by case studies in Korea, the Asian equivalent of PSD2 can be implemented and further expanded to create region-wide PCS (payment-clearing-settlement) network by reconnecting the dots of legacy infrastructures. These decentralized, diverse, small payment networks can be further combined with the expanded RTGS-CDS platform to evolve into the next phase of Asian Financial Network.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 SDN(Software Defined Network)의 특징 및 활용 등에 대해 살펴보고 이를 활용한 네트워크의 고도화 및 보안 측면에서의 장단점 연구를 통해 향후 SDN이 보다 고도화 되어야 하는 방향을 제시한다. SDN은 소프트웨어 앱을 사용하여 네트워크를 지능화 하고 중앙에서 제어하거나 프로그래밍 할 수 있는 네트워크 아키텍처 접근법이다. 사업자는 기본 네트워크 기술에 상관없이 전체 네트워크를 일관적으로 전체적으로 관리할 수 있다. 물리적인 네트워크를 소프트웨어 기술을 이용하여 제어하는 네트워크 기술이다. SDN은 네트워크의 제어 플레인을 네트워크 트래픽을 전달하는 데이터 플레인과 분리한다는 개념이다. 이런 분리의 목적은 중앙에서 관리하고 프로그래밍이 가능한 네트워크를 만드는 것이다. 일부 SDN 구현 솔루션은 범용 네트워크 하드웨어를 통제하는 소프트웨어 기반 관리 플랫폼을 사용한다. 또 다른 접근법은 통합된 소프트웨어와 하드웨어를 사용하기도 한다. 하지만 이러한 SDN에도 많은 취약점이 존재하며 이를 보완할 수 있어야 하며 본 논문에서 이러한 방향을 제한하도록 한다.

Classification of Network Traffic using Machine Learning for Software Defined Networks

  • As SDN devices and systems hit the market, security in SDN must be raised on the agenda. SDN has become an interesting area in both academics and industry. SDN promises many benefits which attract many IT managers and Leading IT companies which motivates them to switch to SDN. Over the last three decades, network attacks becoming more sophisticated and complex to detect. The goal is to study how traffic information can be extracted from an SDN controller and open virtual switches (OVS) using SDN mechanisms. The testbed environment is created using the RYU controller and Mininet. The extracted information is further used to detect these attacks efficiently using a machine learning approach. To use the Machine learning approach, a dataset is required. Currently, a public SDN based dataset is not available. In this paper, SDN based dataset is created which include legitimate and non-legitimate traffic. Classification is divided into two categories: binary and multiclass classification. Traffic has been classified with or without dimension reduction techniques like PCA and LDA. Our approach provides 98.58% of accuracy using a random forest algorithm.

Multiclass Botnet Detection and Countermeasures Selection

  • The increasing number of botnet attacks incorporating new evasion techniques making it infeasible to completely secure complex computer network system. The botnet infections are likely to be happen, the timely detection and response to these infections helps to stop attackers before any damage is done. The current practice in traditional IP networks require manual intervention to response to any detected malicious infection. This manual response process is more probable to delay and increase the risk of damage. To automate this manual process, this paper proposes to automatically select relevant countermeasures for detected botnet infection. The propose approach uses the concept of flow trace to detect botnet behavior patterns from current and historical network activity. The approach uses the multiclass machine learning based approach to detect and classify the botnet activity into IRC, HTTP, and P2P botnet. This classification helps to calculate the risk score of the detected botnet infection. The relevant countermeasures selected from available pool based on risk score of detected infection.

네트워크 커버리지를 이용한 센서 레지스트리 시스템 확장 (Extending Sensor Registry System Using Network Coverage Information)

  • 센서 레지스트리 시스템(Sensor Registry System, SRS)은 이기종 센서 네트워크 환경에서 센서 데이터의 즉각적 활용 및 끊김 없는 해석을 위해 사용자에게 센서 메타데이터를 제공한다. 하지만 기존 SRS는 네트워크 연결이 지원되지 않거나 신호가 불안정한 경우에 센서 메타데이터를 안정적으로 제공할 수 없다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해, 네트워크 커버리지 정보를 이용한 센서 레지스트리 시스템 확장 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 예측한 경로와 네트워크 커버리지에 대한 오픈 데이터(통신사, 신호 강도, 통신 타입)를 이용하여 사용자가 불안정한 네트워크 지역에 도착하기 전에 해당 지역의 센서 메타데이터를 추가로 송신한다. 이 논문에서 제안한 확장된 SRS는 사용자에게 보다 안정적으로 센서 메타데이터를 제공함으로써 응용서비스의 품질을 향상시킨다.

사회연결망을 통한 평생교육 연구동향 분석 (Analysis of Research Trends of Lifelong Education through Social Network)

  • This study aims to analyze the research trend of lifelong education in Korea over the last 10 years based on social network analysis. To do this, a dataset has been collected from KCI (Korea Citation Index) database. According to the results of the study, firstly, the current status of lifelong education research by the year in the last 10 years showed a relatively high ratio between 2008 and 2009 and 2014 ~ 2015. Secondly, the most active networks between authors and journals constitute a key group in the order of 'Lifelong Education Study' and 'Lifelong Learning Society'. Thirdly, the research institutes with the largest number of lifelong education research papers are Soongsil University, Dong-Eui University, and Korea National Open University. In the network with the authors' network, the only authors were K8 working at Chonbuk National University, and the co-authors, H4, who works at Kyungpook National University, showed the most active network. Finally, the core keyword network based on the thesis topic was analyzed as having higher connection centrality in the order of 'lifelong education', 'lifelong educator', and 'university lifelong education'.

조류서식지 평가모형을 이용한 서울시 녹지네트워크 구상 (Development of Green Network Plan Using Bird Habitat Evaluation Model -A Case Study of Seoul, Korea-)

  • Present green space planning of Korea pay little attention to biodiversity conservation in urban areas. The quality of urban wildlife habitat has been deteriorated severely due to fragmentation and isolation of urban open spaces. The application of ecological corridors to urban green space planning and management can greatly enhance the bird habitat of Seoul. The objectives of this study were to evaluate bird habitat potential of existing urban parks of Seoul, and to investigate methods to develop ecological corridors for wild birds. This study consists of three parts. The first part is to construct bird species/habitat relationship model. The second part is to evaluate 207 urban parks of Seoul with the model. Based on the relative potential for bird habitat, urban parks of Seoul can be classified into cores, nodes, and points of the network. Outcomes of this part can also be used to enhance the quality of bird habitats by identifying limits or weakness of existing green spaces for bird habitat. The final part is to develop three green network plans; north-south network, the Han river network, and a district network for Kangnam-Gu.
