  • Open Services Gateway Initiative(OSGi)는 WAN에서 로컬 네트워크와 장치에 다양한 서비스를 적용하는 것이 가능하도록 하는 기본 구조를 만들고자 많은 기업들이 참여하여 활동하는 컨소시엄이다. 본 고에서는 OSGi에서 제시하는 시스템 구조를 살펴보고 이를 유비쿼터스 컴퓨터에 접목하기 위해 고려되는 사항과 다양한 환경에서 적용되기 위한 시스템 구조에 대하여 제안한다.

  • OSGi(Open Service Gateway initiative) Alliance는 1999년에 썬 마이크로시스템즈, IBM, 에릭손 등에 의해 구성된 개방형 표준 단체로 지능형 분산 컴포넌트와 원격 관리 될 수 있는 자바 기반의 서비스 플랫폼을 제정 해왔다. OSGi의 핵심은 어플리케이션의 생명 주기를 OSGi 플랫폼 위에서 어플리케이션이나 번들 컴포넌트의 재부팅 없이 실시간으로 설치, 시작, 정지, 업데이트, 제거를 할 수 있도록 지원해 주며, OSGi는 또한 어플리케이션에 포함될 수 있는 형태의 SOA를 구현하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 OSGi가 현재 홈 네트워크에서 많이 사용되고 있는데 그 방향을 자동차 내부의 네트워크 환경에 중점을 두어 실제로 어떤 서비스가 가능한지 시뮬레이션이나 간단한 서비스를 제작하여 알아본다.

  • 홈 네트워킹에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 이를 실현하기 위해 흠 네트워크에 연결되는 기기들간에 상호 운영성을 보장하는 미들웨어 기술에 관련된 솔루션이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이에 따른 미들웨어 기술에 관련된 솔루션 중 OSGi와 Jini간의 연계 가능성을 살펴보고자 한다. 먼저 OSGi의 개념과 OSGi의 Bundle 개념을 살펴보고 Jini의 개념과 OSGi의 Bundle로써 Jini service를 구현하기 위한 방법에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

An User Authentication Mechanism in the OSGi Service Platform Environment (OSGi서비스 플랫폼 환경에서의 사용자 인증 메커니즘)

  • In the home gateway environment, several characteristics for the user authentication mechanism should be reflected separately from the existing distributed service environment. First, the platform of a home gateway is a component based system that its services are installed dynamically. Second, the convenience that user can use several services by authentication of once should be offered. Finally, the system resources of a home gateway are restricted. However, a user authentication mechanism that reflected these characteristics is not shown at the user admin service specification of the OSGi service platform.(OSGi is the representative standardization organization of hone gateway.) Also, there is no existing authentication protocol that satisfies these qualities at the same time. In this paper, we propose a new user authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway environment. We also design and implement an independent authentication service bundle based on the OSGi service platform so that it can perform user authentication operations for each bundle service. We supplement and extend the Kerberos Protocol that can apply.

  • The OSGi service platform has several characteristics as in the followings. First, the service is deployed in the form of self-installable component called service bundle. Second, the service is dynamic according to its life-cycle and has interactions with other services. Third, the system resources of a home gateway are restricted. Due to these characteristics of a home gateway, there are a lot of rooms for malicious services can be Installed, and further, the nature of service can be changed. It is possible for those service bundles to influence badly on service gateways and users. However, there is no service bundle authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway In this paper, we propose a service bundle authentication mechanism considering those characteristics for the home gateway environment. We design the mechanism for sharing a key which transports a service bundle safely in bootstrapping step that recognize and initialize equipments. And we propose the service bundle authentication mechanism based on MAC that use a shared secret created in bootstrapping step. Also we verify the safety of key sharing mechanism and service bundle authentication mechanism using a BAN Logic. This service bundle authentication mechanism Is more efficient than PKI-based service bundle authentication mechanism or RSH protocol in the service platform which has restricted resources such as storage spaces and operations.

  • 현재 컴퓨팅 환경은 분산, 이동, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경으로 진화되고 있다. OSGi는 유비쿼터스 환경에서 디지털 이동 전화, 차량, 임베디드 가전, 가정용 게이트웨이, 데스크탑 컴퓨터, 고성능 서버에 이르기까지 그 적용범위가 확대되고 있다. 따라서 서로 다른 장비에 탑재된 OSGi 프레임워크의 서비스들을 서로 연동하여 원격 OSGi 서비스들을 공유하여 상호 운용할 수 있는 기술이 필요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 분산 OSGi 프레임워크에서 원격 서비스의 상호운용을 지원하기 위하여 분산 미들웨어 기술인 RMI 패러다임을 적용한 원격 OSGi 서비스 상호운영 방안을 제안한다. 제안하는 원격 OSGi 서비스 상호운용 방안은 OSGi 표준 기술을 활용 및 확장하여 OSGi 아키텍처에 부합하는 원격서비스의 등록 및 발견, 접근 방법을 제공한다. 또한 동적으로 프락시 번들 및 프락시 서비스를 생성함으로써 원격 OSGi 서비스의 위치 투명성을 지원하는 특징을 가진다.

  • Service provision and consumption platforms are more and more used to enable communication between sensors, actuators and intelligent devices, since they provide mechanisms that make possible the combination of components to create composed services. However, these kinds of platforms have limitations to adapt themselves to new and unknown devices. In this work we analyze the challenge of component or bundle communication by using the Open Services Gateway Initiative (OSGi) technology and we propose three mechanisms with the aim of contributing to flexible component communication: Common Service, Specific Service and WSIF Web Service Invocation. We provide these solutions with some architectural models and validate them through different example services. Finally we compare them regarding performance, flexibility and application complexity.

  • This paper presents the implementation of an integrated messaging gateway (IMG) based on the open services gateway initiative (OSGi) specification to deliver home messages between home and some telecommunication devices. The IMG has four service agents to support a diverse communication channel. In this paper, we describe a software architecture for a seamless messaging and device layouts in the IMG. And then, we detail each components allowing users to be notified automatically through a cellular phone, a telephone, and the Internet.

  • In an proposed Context-Aware SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) based OSGi(Open Service Gateway initiative) platform, Service provider manages relative kinds of services in an integrative basis from various sensors, puts each service in a SOAP (Simple Object access Protocol) message, and register thorn to the UDDI(Universal Description Discovery and Integration) server of service registry, service requester retrivel the specified kinds of services and call them to service provider. Recently most context-aware technologies for ubiquitous home network are mainly putting emphasis on RFID/USN and location-based technology. Because of this, service-oriented architecture researches have not been made enough. Under the environment of an OSGi service platform, various context-aware services are dynamically mapping from various sensors, new services are being offered for the asking of users, and existing services are changing. Accordingly, the data sharing between services provided, management of service life cycle, and the facilitation of service distribution are needed. Taking into considering all these factors, this study has suggested an Context-Aware SOA based eclipse SOA Tools Platform using OSGi platform that can transaction throughtput of more than 546 TPS of distributional Little's Law from ATAM(Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method) while remaining stable other condition.
