Electronic Commerce are facing on social upheavals by a rapidly advanced Open Network such as Internet, and the crest of a digital boom in the economic side for the 21th century. As the Internet develops into a robust delivery channel for commerce, it will be important to understand the characteristics of on-line markets. This paper addresses price competition in Internet Electronic Commerce by reviewing current academic research, discussing the implications of price competition, and proposing areas for future study.
Korea is to open its medical markets to foreign hospitals starting in the year 2006 regardless of our will(DDA, Doha Development Agenda). To accurately understand the characteristics of Korean medical users, their detailed and various needs, their attitudes toward the opening of Korean medical markets, and factors affecting these users in choosing foreign medical service providers would be first step needs to be taken by the Korean medical facilities that need to survive and develope through the fiercely competitive era coming with the opening of Korean medical markets to foreign medical service providers and would be very important in hospital management. The subjects of this study were 500 patients randomly selected from the outpatients who visited one of university hospitals in Seoul on the 14th-16th days of April 2003, and conducted a self-completion questionnaire. The answers of 463 respondents among the selected patients(93% of a responding rate)were analyzed through the Excel and statistics programs. The attitudes on the opening of the medical markets were shown in agreement 56.5%(247 persons), disagreement 6.9%(30 persons), and no idea 36.6%(160 persons). In consideration of only the answers as agreement and disagreement exclusive of the answer as no idea, 89.2% of the respondents agreed to the opening of the medical markets while 10.8% objected to the opening. The approval rate was higher with the higher education and income levels. Moreover, The approval rate for the opening of the medical markets was relatively high regardless of the satisfaction in the medical service, and the most important reason of the agreement was the guarantee of the patients(national)option. The main reason of the disagreement was high medical fee(50.5%), and the other reasons showing low rates were outflow of the domestic fund to the foreign countries(13.6%), damage of medical influences on the public(11.4%), lack of competition of the domestic medical industry(9.1%)and so on. As for the factors of selecting the foreign hospitals in the opening of the medical markets, the patients considered the authority(competency)of doctors firstly, and the other principal factors were worldwide fame and reliance, specific explanation of doctors, modernized medical instruments, convenient consultation procedure, etc. The patients agreed to the opening of the medical markets at a high rate regardless of the satisfaction in the medical service, and the most principal reason of the agreement was the guarantee of the patients(national)option for the medical care. Connected with the factors to select the hospitals, the approval reasons for the opening of the medical markets were the authority(competency)of the doctors as the first one, and then fame and tradition, reliance, overall diagnosis and modernized medical instruments, doctors specific explanation, and so on. However, these factors are actually associated with the Quality of the medical care, and consequently the approval reasons for the opening of the medical markets are connected with the security of the medical care. Accordingly, the guarantee of the patients(national)option answered as the main reason of the agreement can be also understood as the awareness of the right to have a variety of options for the security of the medical quality.
This research sees that even interactivities have differences by the types of internet shopping malls and compared and analyzed the interactivities by classifying them into open market and special malls. The research survey was conducted aiming at those who purchased products in Internet shopping malls within the latest 6 months, and, then, a statistical analysis was carried out. The analysis result showed the interactivity in internet shopping malls was deduced as 2 perspectives while it was confirmed that there are differences according to shopping mall types. For open markets, interactivities of both 'between company and customers' and 'between customers and customers' have significant influences on the satisfaction degree. Especially, the interactivity of 'between company and customers' have higher influences on the satisfaction degree. However, for the specialty malls, it was shown that only the interactivity of 'between company and customers' have significant influences on the customer satisfaction degree. Additionally, it was confirmed that the satisfaction degree toward a shopping mall has positive influence even on future recommendation intentions. Such research results confirmed that distinctive strategies which consider the patterns of shopping malls should be applied in order for a company to effectively utilize the interactivity in internet shopping mall markets.

This study attempted to examine the characteristics of fashion cross-border e-commerce(CBEC) by analyzing about 35.7 million cases of customs clearance data received from the Korea Customs Service. The demographic characteristics of consumers and the features of products purchased from 2019 to 2021 were explored. Next, the association rules between products, brands, and websites were analyzed by men and women in their 20s to 50s. The results are as follows. First, women purchased more clothing products than men, and overall, consumers tended to purchase products at low prices every year. Second, the most commonly purchased products were T-shirts, bags, and other shoes. In the list clearance, the purchase frequency of international open markets increased for three years; in general clearance, the proportion of luxury brands was high every year. Finally, in the list clearance, the relationships between bags, other shoes, pants, and overseas open markets were significant, while the relationships between wallets, bags, and luxury brands were significant in general clearance. Based on this study, domestic companies participating in or competing against the CBEC market can develop appropriate strategies for merchandising and sourcing clothing products.

Air Transportation industry becomes more competitive that the restriction on new access to market were eased and relaxed. Liberalization of international air transport will continue, via bilateral and multilateral process. Korea, Japan, and China have expanded enormously the economic trade and cultural exchange bilaterally in the Northeast Asia, they are acknowledging the importance and necessity of improved connection, it order to face effectively other regional blocks of US-Canada, NAFTA, ASEAN, CLMV. In particular, nobody denies that it is urgent to liberalize bilaterally the air transport in Northeast Asia for promoting reciprocal benefits and prosperity. Recently while open skies bilateral agreements was signed between Korea-China in June, 2006. The agreements processes are too heavily influenced by flag carriers; leading to capacity/market sharing between the bilateral carriers in most markets, against the interest of consumers and overall economic interest of the nation. For successful operation of Northeast Air Market, it is need to set up development strategy paradigm by creating cross-border sub-regional (Northeast Asian) open skies bloc as well as preparing and creating of LCCs operations.

The aim of this research is to improve Korean lettuce varieties in terms of Fusarium wilt, bolting under hot weather and nutritional function applying genomics approaches. To find related gene/molecular markers, we selected 96 lettuce varieties which are popular in domestic fresh vegetable markets. To construct frame works of the genomic approaches, we exploited GBS(Genotyping by Sequencing) and found total 61,407 SNPs from lettuce whole genomes (MAF>0.02). We observed that Three SNPs array per 100kb of lettuce genome. Average LD decay is expected to expand up to 3.9M(million)bp. Thus, we concluded that about 104 SNPs exist within a LD, which is sufficient to use GWAS(Genome-wide Association Study) to explore the useful gene/molecular markers. In addition, we optimized mass screening method to evaluate disease resistance levels against Fusarium wilt and are testing the bolting sensitivity during summer growing season for those lettuce allele mining set.

Nowadays, many construction engineering and technology enterprises are evolving to find that prosperity is driven and inspired by an open economy with dynamic markets and fierce multifaceted competition. Besides brand and product uniqueness, the ability to quickly provide customers with quotes are matters of concern. Such a requirement for prompt cost estimation of construction investment projects with the use of a construction price index poses a significant challenge to contractors. This is because the nature of the construction industry is shaped by changes in domestic and foreign economic factors, socio-financial issues, and is under the influence of various micro and macro factors. This paper presents a fuzzy decision-making approach for calculating critical factors that affect the construction price index. A qualitative approach was implemented based on in-depth interviews of experts in the construction industry in Vietnam. A synthetic comparison matrix was calculated using Buckley approach. The CoA approach was applied to defuzzified the fuzzy weights of factors that affect the construction price index. The research results show that the top five critical factors affecting the construction price index in Vietnam are (1) consumer price index, (2) gross domestic product, (3) basic interest rate, (4) foreign exchange rate, and (5) total export and import.
Purpose - This case study illustrates the story of eBay Korea, which owns two most leading Korean open market companies, AUCTION and Gmarket. The main concerns are to take over the Korean top domestic companies one by one, then, emerge these two giants through its well-developed post-merger Integration by eBay, an American multinational corporation. Research design, data, and methodology - This case explores various secondary resources such as periodicals, annual reviews, magazine, news articles, commentaries, even some interview materials related to 'eBay Korea' and industry source on condition of anonymity based on the critical reviewing of existing studies on these topics as well. Results - The findings of this study show the merger and acquisition of two market leaders in Korea is the only successful case in Asian Markets. The eBay's choice of entry mode is appropriate considering the timing, synergy and efficiency by sharing their resources. Conclusions - This study examines the successful entry and settlement process of foreign, multinational company through mergers and acquisitions in the Korean market. This would be a valuable in the studies of International Business and Global entry or distribution strategy in the e-commerce and open market dealing with M&A and its post-merger integration.
For many companies, selling in an international market place is the ultimate challenge. One of the greatest problems facing exporters is the increasing insistence by importers that trade be conducted on open account terms. This often means that payment is received many weeks or even months after delivery. Unsurprisingly, many organisations find that giving buyers credit in this way can cause severe cash flow problems. Further problems can arise if the importer delays payment beyond originally agreed terms or makes no payment at all because of financial failure. In particular, many SMEs find it difficult to finance their production cycle, since after goods are delivered most buyers demand 30 to 90 days to pay. Therefore, International factoring for SME has been developing very rapidly in the world trade financing markets. Functions of international factoring as trade financing is a comprehensive financial service that includes credit protection, accounts receivable bookkeeping, collection services and financing. Factoring can be a powerful tool in providing financing to high-risk, informationally opaque sellers. International factoring is very helpful for international exporters to get competitiveness in the world markets. In Korea, a few banks are operating international factoring. But International factoring in Korea could not play a key roll as general trade supporting service. So, This study is to suggest importances of international factoring development for trade development and to investigate real operation situations and problems by way of interviews with operators in banks that are operating international factoring and suggest development strategies for international factoring in Korea.
This study developed adaptive clothing to increase psychological comfort and protection for dementia patients. Our research method and data collection were as follows. The author selected and interviewed 10 caregivers and nurses to understand dementia patient behavior. The author collected eight pieces of clothing designed for dementia patients that are sold in Korean and overseas markets. We then analyzed garment details, open systems, close systems, and expected functions. Adaptive clothing for dementia patients were developed based upon our research. The results are as follows. First, dementia patients' behavior differed by dementia patient symptoms. Second, all items sold in Korean and overseas markets were jump suits designed to prevent behavior characteristic of dementia patients. Third, the author designed and manufactured five pieces of adaptive clothing for dementia patients that included two for mild dementia patients and three for moderate dementia patients. A panel of 50 caregivers gave high marks to developed clothing in regards to functionality, hygiene, patient human rights and aesthetics. The adaptive clothing of dementia patients from this research will increase the psychological and emotional satisfaction of dementia patients.
