Flow and Scour Analysis Around Monopole of Fixed Offshore Platform Using Method that Couples Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Method (CFD-DEM 연계기법을 활용한 고정식 해양구조물의 모노파일 주위 유동 및 세굴해석)

  • When an offshore foundation is exposed to waves and currents, local scour could develop around a pile and even lead to structural failure. Therefore, understanding and predicting the scour due to sediment transport around foundations are important in the engineering design. In this study, the flow and scour around a monopole foundation exposed to a current were investigated using a method that coupled the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and discrete element method (DEM). The open source computation fluid dynamics library OpenFOAM and a sediment transport library were coupled in the OpenFOAM platform. The incipient motion of the particle was validated. The flow fields and sediment transport around the monopole were simulated. The scour depth development was simulated and compared with existing experimental data. For the upstream scour hole, the equilibrium scour depth could be reproduced qualitatively, and it was underestimated by about 23%.

  • With the recent development of IT technology, medical image processing technology is also widely used in the dental field, and the treatment effect is enhanced by using 3D data such as CT. In this paper, open source libraries such as ITK and VTK are introduced to develop dental medical image processing software, and how to use them to develop dental medical image processing software centering on 3D CBCT. In ITK, basic algorithms for medical image processing are implemented, so the image processing pipeline can be quickly implemented, and the desired algorithm can be easily implemented as a filter by the developer. The developed algorithm is linked with VTK to implement the visualization function. The developed SW can be used for dental diagnosis and treatment that overcomes the limitations of 2D images..

An Analysis of Agenda-setting Process to Appoint Library Professional as the Director of National Assembly Library: Based on the Kingdon's Multiple Streams Model (국회도서관장 전문가 임명 정책 의제화 과정 분석 - Kingdon의 다중흐름모형을 적용하여 -)

  • The purpose of the study is to identify the background of the agenda-setting to appoint library professional as the director of National Assembly Library and characteristics of the policy entrepreneur of this agenda. To this purpose an agenda-setting process in 2014 is analyzed with the Kingdon's multiple streams model. Kingdon's multiple streams model explains that an agenda is set when a window of opportunity is opened by coupling of problem stream, political stream, and policy stream. They have existed independently before setting the agenda. This study showed that the political stream was the major stream to open the window of opportunity. The lawmaker in the opposition party is identified as the leader for the agenda and the motivations, resources, and strategies of the policy entrepreneur were also analyzed. The analysis showed the agenda for library professional as the director was set without visible participation of library professionals. Therefore this study proposed the library professionals' roles for the library and information policy making process.

  • 모바일 단말과 같은 임베디드 시스템은 배포 후 버그를 수정 재 배포하기가 힘들다. 이러한 문제점을 해결 하기 위하여 OMA(Open Mobile Alliance)에서는 OMA Client Provisioning기반의 OMA Device Management 규격을 정의하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기반이 되는 OMA Client Provisioning 규격을 지원하기 위한 Provisioning Library 와 Provisioning Agent를 설계 및 구현 하였다. 본 논문에서 구현된 Provisioning Library는 Standard C를 이용하였으며, Bootstrap 및 Continuous Provisioning을 지원하기 위하여 설계된 Provisioning Agent는 국내 단말 3사가 채택하고 있는 표준 플랫폼인 WIPI 기반으로 제작 되어 단말간 이식성이 높도록 하였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템은 사용자가 새로 추가된 정보 서비스를 받기 위하여 네트워크 정보를 업그레이드를 원할 경우 서비스 센터에 직접 방문하여 단말을 업그레이드 받을 필요 없이 OTA를 통하여 네트워크 정보를 업그레이드 할 수 있는 환경을 제공한다.

Morphology and molecular phylogeny of harmful dinoflagellate Pseudocochlodinium profundisulcus from Korean coastal area

  • The morphological features of germling cells were examined to identify an unspecified resting cyst (described as Cochlodinium cf. polykrikoides-like resting cyst) in the Korean coastal area. LSU rRNA gene sequences were also obtained from a strain established from the germling cells. The resting cysts isolated from Korean coastal sediment were characterized as being brown in color, having a large dark-red body, and fibrous lobed ornaments. The germling cells were ellipsoidal with an irregular outline and had an open comma-shaped ASC (apical structure complex), a wide and deep cingulum, and a deep sulcus. These morphological features were consistent with those of previously described harmful dinoflagellate Pseudocochlodinium profundisulcus. The molecular phylogeny revealed that the germling cells and P. profundisulcus were conspecific. Based on these morphological and phylogenetic data, this study documents the occurrence of P. profundisulcus in a Korean coastal area for the first time.

  • In this paperwe develop a real-time simulator for direct drive cooperative robot by using OpenGL in a Windows NT based system. This simulator is composed of 2 parts, a display part and an interface part. In the display part the robot is modelled and rendered in 3D space. To do this OpenGL, a kind of graphic library, is used for rendering and animating robots and kinematics gives the information of the current robot configuration. The control and the feedback data are sent and received via the interface part. In real time simulation interfacing part needs fast data transfer rate and good nosic immunity. In experiment we have simulated 2-link direct drive cooperative robots using the trajectory tracking algorithm proposed in reference.

  • In the present paper, Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) uncertainty analysis proposed by ITTC was investigated and applied to ship resistance performance using open source libraries, called OpenFOAM. Uncertainties for grid size, time step and iteration number were studied. Wave patterns and hull wave profile were compared for various uncertainty parameters. From results, grid size uncertainty was mainly contributed to simulation numerical uncertainty.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic attendance management system for classrooms using OpenCV and machine learning technology. When a face photograph is input at the entrance of the classroom using a general purpose camera for PC, the attendance is checked by comparing the similarity of the face of the already stored student. In this study, the prototype was implemented using the machine learning library dlib, and about 10% of the students had a recognition rate of about 70%.

OpenVSLAM-based Cooperative Mobile AR System Architecture (OpenVSLAM 기반의 협력형 모바일 SLAM 시스템 설계)

  • In this paper, we designed, implemented, and verified the SLAM system that can be used on mobile devices. Mobile SLAM is composed of a stand-alone type that directly performs SLAM operation on a mobile device, and a mapping server type that additionally configures a mapping server based on FastAPI to perform SLAM operation on the server and transmits data for map visualization to a mobile device. The mobile SLAM system proposed in this paper is to mix the two types in order to make SLAM operation and map generation more efficient. The stand-alone type SLAM system was configured as an Android app by porting the OpenVSLAM library to the Unity engine, and the map generation and performance were evaluated on desktop PCs and mobile devices. The mobile SLAM system in this paper is an open source project, so it is expected to help develop AR contents based on SLAM in a mobile environment.
