  • The eight types of Korean bibliographic information of biology and life science are included in PubMed that serves universal medical bibliographic information. Other domestic bibliographic information are served on its own format at different organizations. To fulfill the CCBB homepage user's request that it is necessary that integration of bibliographic service for quick acquisition of research information, we intends to construct metadata registry and service about bibliographic information of biology and life science. This paper describes the design and implementation of bibliographic information network prototype for biology and life science that can be used to share latest research result, seminar presentation data, research note, and research paper etc as well as to exchange information between researchers through Open Archiving Community.

  • This study aims to introduce a model for enhancing community well-being through the utilization of public open data. To objectively assess abstract notions of residential satisfaction, text data from complaints is analyzed. By leveraging accessible public data, costs related to data collection are minimized. Initially, relevant text data containing civic complaints is collected and refined by removing extraneous information. This processed data is then combined with meaningful datasets and subjected to topic modeling, a text mining technique. The insights derived are visualized using Geographic Information System (GIS) and Application Programming Interface (API) data. The efficacy of this analytical model was demonstrated in the Godeok/Gangil area. The proposed methodology allows for comprehensive analysis across time, space, and categories. This flexible approach involves incorporating specific public open data as needed, all within the overarching framework.

  • This study aims to analyze the environment for the open-source records system and to identify the risk and requirements for the success of the strategy in Korea. For this, Chapter 2 presented a review of the strategic benefits of open source to public organizations, developers, and users. It also discussed the process of cooperatively developing and releasing the source code and the technology infrastructure supporting open source. In Chapter 3, six representative open-source projects in the field of records management were selected, and case studies were conducted. To derive comprehensive implications, we have divided the main development body of open-source projects into international organizations, international cooperation systems, national archives, and software development companies. We also analyzed the background and purpose of each project, the agents of development and funding, the governance model, the development period and cost, the business model and software architecture, the community composition, and the licensing strategy. Through this, we have derived four critical success factors. In terms of technology, a component-based design was required; therefore, we proposed a microservice architecture and a model-view-controller design pattern. Next, it was necessary to reestablish system requirements of records center and archives. Moreover, we also proposed a dual licensing strategy to allow developers to easily participate in open-source projects. Lastly, we emphasized a strong governance structure and an effective cooperation framework to create a sustainable community. For a record system to be open-source successfully in an organization-centered market, the roles of software developers and end users should be exercised more in the community. To achieve this, it is important to build various collaborative tools and development infrastructure from a planning stage to a centralized one.

  • As the concept of open source extends beyond the scope of software, many companies are also introducing business models using open source concepts. This study is a study on how to create a web-based open-source platform using a 3D printer and aims to create an open-source platform modeled on the Kidults community where users are highly willing to participate. The research method established the direction of initial platform production by collecting basic data through the usability of the platform and Toy design preferences and propensity analysis through research on open source use cases by various companies and user surveys in the Kidults Community. Features unique platform Toy sources that are freely reinterpreted by the user and re-shared and sold to the platform. Research should continue to boost user motivation by activating communities within the platform.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze phenomena and characteristics of family nursing in Korea based on the study by Yun et al. (1999) by ICNP. The subjects of this study were 115 reports on family nursing care in Korea National Open University. The results of this study were as follows; 1. In the phenomenon of family nursing, 'Inappropriate family coping' comprised of 17.0% and 'Inadequate care for a sick member' comprised of 16.8%. 2. It was found that 'A few close neighbors was 62.5%, 'Lack of communication between married couple' was 60.0%, 'Neglet of general child rearing' was 40.9%, 'Closed communication pattern of the head of a family' was 36.0%, and 'Inadequate distribution of each family member's role' was 27.2%. 3. 'Lack of family interaction in community' and 'Social isolation' were combined with 'Lack of family interaction in community', and 'Disturbance in family communication' and 'Lack of family intimacy' were combined with 'Disturbance in family communication'. 4. 'Dual-loading with office work and housework', 'Overload of caring one's elders because of the status as a dual-income family' and 'Lack of family support system' were added into 'Inappropriate family coping'.

  • This paper presents the holistic notion and model of an open social u-learning community, anchored with open content, providing an interactive online study group experience akin to sitting with study buddies on a world-wide campus quad. The interactive social u-learning community design helps conceptualize and maximize advantages of ubiquitous environment in learning. The model is enabled by state-of-the-art web technologies; real-time collaboration technologies for a highly interactive experience; intelligent recommender systems to help learners connect with relevant content and other learners; and mining and analytics to assess learner outcomes. Hence, u-learning design is highly scalable yet interactive and engaging.

  • This study is researched to provide design guidelines of service facilities and programs that apartment residents want along with the increased quality of life. This study is signifiant because it sought effective methods to activate the com-munity culture through service facilities in apartment complexes and the design standard and planning direction for residents. The study results are as follows. In the result of the correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis for the importancy of service facilities in apartment complexes, the following orders were considered as important factor; man-ager office, open space, resident community facility, elderly people meeting and activity facility, walking paths, resident athletic facility, a children's playground, library, and rest areas in the complex. and result of the correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis is the following: service facilities whole importance (y) = 1.413$+0.262^*{\times}1$ (manager office importance)$+0.271^*{\times}2$ (open space importance) $+0.185^*{\times}3$ (resident community facility importance) $+0.136{\times}4$ (elderly people meeting and activity facility importance)$+0.036^*{\times}5$ (walking paths importance) $+0.031^*{\times}6$ (resident athletic facility importance) + $(-0.042)^*{\times}7$ (a children's playground importance) + $(-0.045)^*{\times}8$ (library importance) + $(-0.0097)^*{\times}9$ (rest areas importance).

  • Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have made it easier for healthcare workers and patients to monitor patients' status continuously in real time. WBANs have complex and diverse network structures; thus, management and control can be challenging. Therefore, considering emerging Software-defined networks (SDN) with WBANs is a promising technology since SDN implements a new network management and design approach. The SDN concept is used in this study to create more adaptable and dynamic network architectures for WBANs. The study focuses on comparing the performance of two SDN controllers, POX and Ryu, using Mininet, an open-source simulation tool, to construct network topologies. The performance of the controllers is evaluated based on bandwidth, throughput, and round-trip time metrics for networks using an OpenFlow switch with sixteen nodes and a controller for each topology. The study finds that the choice of network controller can significantly impact network performance and suggests that monitoring network performance indicators is crucial for optimizing network performance. The project provides valuable insights into the performance of SDN-based WBANs using POX and Ryu controllers and highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate network controller for a given network architecture.
