  • Shipbuilding and repairing enterprise has the characteristics of many hazards and accidents. Therefore, the safety management ability of shipbuilding and repairing MIS (management information system) must be effectively guaranteed. The verification on safety management is the necessary measure to ensure and improve the safety management ability of MIS. Safety verification can not only increase the safety of MIS, but also make early warning of potential risks in management to avoid the accidents. Based on the authoritative standards in the field of safety in shipbuilding and repairing enterprise, this paper applied modeling and verification method based on ontology to safety verification of MIS, extracted the concepts and associations from related safety standards to construct axiom set to support safety verification on MIS of shipbuilding and repairing enterprise. Then, this paper developed the corresponding safety ontology modeling and verification tool-SOMVT. By the application and comparison of two examples, this paper effectively verified the safety of MIS to prove the modeling method and the SOMVT can improve the safety of MIS in a much more effective and stable way to traditional manual analysis.

  • Although the various crime involved numerous digital evidence, the digital evidence is hard to be acknowledged as a evidence to proof the crime fact in court. We propose the method of verification for the legal admissibility of digital evidence using digital forensics ontology. In order to verify the legal admissibility of digital evidence, we will extend the digital ontology by standard digital forensics process from Digital Forensics Technical Manual defined by KNPA and set up the relation properties and the rule of property constraint to process class in the digital forensics ontology. It is possible for proposed ontology to utilize to plan the criminal investigation and to educate the digital forensics.

  • Success of a semantic web application, currently base on web technology, depend on web ontology construction that provided rule and inference function about knowledge. For, this study compared the ontology construction methods that were already proposed, and analyzed, and investigated characteristics of semantic web and web ontology, investigated characteristics of semantic web and web ontology, and defined characteristics of web ontology as-based technology of a semantic web application and knowledge representation steps, and studied a technical element that related currently web technology, and proposed a web ontology construction method for a semantic web application with bases to these. Established web ontologies of various knowledge fields as applied the construction method that proposed. Also evaluate performance of web ontology through inference verification of web ontologies established, web ontologies evaluated performance of web ontology as used inference verification. According to this, we confirmed that proposed construction method that can establish the ontology suitable for semantic web application.

  • The purpose of this study is to build the tax ontology which can be used to manage imposables by the state or local governments. In this, the tax and related concepts were analyzed and then concept hierarchy i.e., taxonomies were formed. Especially, in the concept hierarchy, after multiple inherits were decomposed as 'primitive concepts' and then Rector's 'methodology of ontology implementation normalization', in which defined concepts were recombined, was used. The methodology employed was that the tax system, which was entangled with the direct taxes, local taxes, and property taxes that has multiple-inherits, was expressed explicitly and logically. After that, automatic classification was carried out through the inference engine, consistency was verified. Finally, some practical cases of ontology created were enumerated.

  • In response to an increased need, various methods for ontology modularization have been proposed. However, few studies have focused on evaluative methods for ontology modules. In this study, we devise novel metrics to measure ontology modularity. To evaluate the ontology modules, we introduce cohesion and coupling based on the theory of software metrics. A cohesion metric and two coupling metrics were used to measure cohesion and coupling for ontology modules. These metrics were also used to check consistency between the ontology modules and the original ontology. The new metrics support a more detailed relationship between classes in ontology modules. We validate the proposed metrics using the well known verification framework and perform the empirical experiments to complement previous investigations. This study offers ontology engineers valuable criteria with which to select and use ontology modules and modularization techniques.

  • The systematic management of research data is vital because it increases research data's value for research reproduction, verification, and reusability. Standard metadata will play a key role in research data registration, management, and data extraction. Research data has various structural relationships, such as research, research data, data sets, and files, and associated with entities such as citations and research results. The study proposes an ontology model for research data management. It also suggests the application of ontology to NTIS. Previous studies, metadata standard analyses, and research data repository case studies were conducted.

  • In ubiquitous environments, invisible devices and software are connected to one another to provide convenient services to users. In order to provide such services, we must have mobile devices that connect users and services. But such services are usually limited to those served on a single mobile device. To resolve the resource limitation problem of mobile devices, a nearby resource sharing research has been studied. Also, not only the nearby resource share but also a resource recommendation through context-based resource reasoning has been studied such as an UMO Project. The UMO Project share and manage the various context information for the personalization resource recommendation and reason based on current context information. Also, should verify resource inference rules for reliable the resource recommendation. But, to create various context information requires huge cost and time in actuality. Thus, we propose a inference verification tool called USim to resolve problem. The proposed inference verification tool provides convenient graphic user interfaces and it easily creates context information. The USim exactly verifies new inference rules through dynamic changes of context information.

  • There has been a growing concern on ontology especially in recent knowledge-based industry and defining a field-customized semantic word network is essential for building it. In this paper, a word network for ontology is established with 785 publications of Korean Society of Rural Planning(KSRP), from 1995 to 2017. Semantic relationships between words in the publications were quantitatively measured with the 'normalized pointwise mutual information' based on the information theory. Appearance and co-appearance frequencies of nouns and adjectives in phrases are analyzed based on the assumption that a 'noun phrase' represents a single 'concept'. The word network of KSRP was compared with that of $WordNet^{TM}$, a world-wide thesaurus network, for the verification. It is proved that the KSRP's word network, established in this paper, provides words' semantic relationships based on the common concepts of Korean rural planning research field. With the results, it is expecting that the established word network can present more opportunity for preparation of the fourth industrial revolution to the field of the Korean rural planning.

  • The method of recent information retrieval passes into an semantic search to provide more accurate results than keyword-based search. But in common user case, they are still accustomed to using existing keyword-based search. Hence they are hard to create a typed structured query language. In this paper, we propose to ontology knowledge-base scheme for query interpretation of these user. The proposed scheme was designed based on the OWL-DL for description logic reasoning, it can provide a richer representation of the relationship between the object by using SWRL(Semantic Web Rule Language). Finally, we are describe the experimental results of the similarity measurement for verification of a user query semantic interpretation.

  • Ontologies are being used in order to define common vocabularies to describe the elements of schemas involved in a particular application. The problem of finding correspondences between ontologies concepts, called ontology matching, consists in the discovery of correspondences between terms of vocabularies (represented by ontologies) used by various applications. The majority of solutions proposed in the literature, despite being fully automatic, has heuristic nature and may produce nonsatisfactory results. The problem intensifies when dealing with large data sources. The goal of this paper is to propose a method for generation and incremental refinement of correspondences between ontologies. The proposed approach uses filtering techniques, as well as user feedback to support the generation and refinement of such matches. For validation purposes, a tool was developed and some experiments were conducted.
