  • In this paper, we defined constructivism and ontology theory and associate it in ubiquitous learning. The typical ubiquitous learning involving the Context Aware Intelligent system was presented. Also the Architecture for learning environment including the key idea and technical concept is being presented in this paper. Guided with these principles and with the advancement of information and communication technology the context-awareness based on Artificial intelligence for Location based Service for ubiquitous Learning was conceptualized.

  • Today's construction is a large-scale and long life span program, so called Mega-scale project, that every moment constructor faces much of hardships, It is because of a large amount of stakeholders, data and complicated relationship among workers. In order to overcome these problems, IETM(Interactive Electronic Technical Manual) has been introduced to construction industry recently, It is regarded as a useful tool for handling the data, procedures of the construction, but it is similar to existing IT-based information systems, the PMIS(Project Management Information System) and the KMS(Knowledge Management System), without characterizing. This research is intended to find out IETM's property and to present the Ontology scheme discriminating Construction IETM from existing systems..

  • As the development of game graphic technology, games include many characters and various virtual worlds. In this paper we proposed the architecture which can make efficient game world through ontology technology. We applied Gaia theory to this architecture. And this game world can have ecological feedback structure. So we proposed the Gaia game architecture which can increase the interaction between user and game world.

  • Recently, the demand for connection between various heterogeneous dataset and BIM as a construction data model hub is increasing. In the past, in order to connect model between BIM and heterogeneous dataset, related dataset was stored in the RDBMS, and the service was provided by programming a method to link with the BIM object. This approach causes problems such as the need to modify the database schema and business logic, and the migration of existing data when requirements change. This problem adversely affects the scalability, reusability, and maintainability of model information. This study proposes an ontology BIM-based knowledge service framework considering the connectivity and scalability between BIM and heterogeneous dataset. Through the proposed framework, ontology BIM mapping, semantic information query method for linking between knowledge-expressing dataset and BIM are presented. In addition, to identify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the prototype is developed. Also, the effectiveness and considerations of the ontology BIM-based knowledge service framework are derived.

  • In this study, we propose a methodology of mating it easy to integrate the heterogeneous and distributed information of e-Business environments with the semantic web components , knowledge representation, ontology and agents. It is based on a collaborative interoperable environment, which should be constructed by meta-modeling and employing agents , and the syntactic/semantic integration. We adopt OWL(Web Ontology Language) to specify ontology in a layered architecture for each agent to use, which is based on the IRDS (Information Resource Dictionary Standard) framework. And we give an illustrative example using the terms from PSL(Process Specification Language)-ontology. By defining, managing and sharing resources and business-processes on the proposed framework, it could be possible to get rid of the cause of redundancy and inconsistency.

  • Service identification and composition is one of the key characteristics for a successful Service-Oriented Computing, being receiving a lot of attention from researchers in recent years. In the Service-Oriented Analysis, the identification of business services has to be preceded before application services are identified. Most approaches addressing the derivation of business services are based on heuristic methods and human experts. The manual identification of business services is highly expensive and ambiguous task, and it may result in the service design with bad quality because of errors and misconception. Although a few of approaches of automatic service identification are proposed, most of them are in focus on technical architectures and application services. In this paper, we propose a model on the automatic identification of business services by horizontal and vertical service alignment using Enterprise Architecture as an ontology. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed model of business services identification through a case study based on Department of Defense Enterprise Architecture.

  • Objectives: This research presents the design and development of a software architecture using natural language processing tools and the use of an ontology of knowledge as a knowledge base. Methods: The software extracts, manages and represents the knowledge of a text in natural language. A corpus of more than 200 medical domain documents from the general medicine and palliative care areas was validated, demonstrating relevant knowledge elements for physicians. Results: Indicators for precision, recall and F-measure were applied. An ontology was created called the knowledge elements of the medical domain to manipulate patient information, which can be read or accessed from any other software platform. Conclusions: The developed software architecture extracts the medical knowledge of the clinical histories of patients from two different corpora. The architecture was validated using the metrics of information extraction systems.

  • As the complexity of engineering design environment has been increased, it becomes difficult to exchange design data among design support systems. The purpose of this paper is to develop the XML-based Generalized Mechanical Data Exchange Formats(GMDEF) independent of specific mechanical element and to improve the interoperability of them using ontology, in order to integrate diverse design data and facilitate communication between design support systems. GMDEF consists of PartDoc and AssemblyDoc. PartDoc represents the information of a single part. AssemblyDoc represents the relation of parts composing an assembly. GMDEF is validated by GMDEF Schema. GMDEF Schema consists of separated XML Schemas and has flexible architecture to facilitate extension. The ontology is applied to GMDEF Schema to share and reuse vocabularies of specific mechanical elements.
