공단지역 주변 소나무림의 솔잎혹파리 형태적 특성 (Morphological Characteristics of Thecodiplosis japonensis (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) Larvae in Pine Forests Around Onsan Industrial Complex in Ulsan, Korea)

  • 환경오염원으로부터 지역별 솔잎혹파리 피해도의 차이를 조사하기 위하여 실시한 결과, 솔잎혹파리 충영형성율은 석유화학공단에 의한 환경오염이 심각한 상황에 있는 공단지역은 충영형성률 47.94%이었고, 대조지역은 9.94%였다. 솔잎혹파리 피해엽은 공단지역 피해엽의 길이는 평균 4.5 cm 였으며, 대조지역은 평균 4.9 cm 이었다. 솔잎혹파리 피해엽의 충영내 유충의 수는 공단지역은 평균 3.4개체이었고, 대조지역은 2.4개체 이었다. 성숙유충의 크기는 공단지역이 유충체장은 2.40 mm, 체폭은 0.7 mm 이었으며, 대조지역의 유충체장은 2.45 mm, 체폭은 0.71 mm 이었다.

국내 주요 산업단지 대기 중 중금속농도 분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Concentration Distribution of Airborne Heavy Metals in Major Industrial Complexes in Korea)

  • This paper reports the results of field evaluation to determine the levels of heavy metals in major industrial complexes in Korea over a seven year period (2007~2013). The measurement of heavy metal was conducted using quartz fiber filter sampling and ICP-AES analysis. In order to validate the analytical performance of these methods, studies were also carried out to investigate data quality control(QC) parameters, such as the method detection limit (MDL), repeatability, and recovery efficiencies. The average concentrations of total suspended particulates (TSP) for the nine industrial complexes in Korea were $104{\sim}169{\mu}g/m^3$, which was higher than other industrial complexes and urban areas. The Sihwa and Banwol industrial complexes were shown to be the biggest contributing sources to high TSP emission ($159{\mu}g/m^3$ and $169{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively). The concentrations of heavy metals in TSP were higher in the order of Fe>Cu>Zn, Pb, Mn>Cr, Ni, As and Cd. It was observed that Fe was the highest in the Gwangyang and Pohang steel industrial complexes. The concentrations of Zn and Pb were high in Onsan, Sihwa and Banwol industrial complexes, and this was attributed to the emission from the nonferrous industry. Additionally, Cr and Ni concentrations were high in the Sihwa and Banwol industrial complexes due to plating industry. On the other hand, Ulsan and Onsan industrial complexes showed high Cr and Ni concentrations as a response to the emission of metal industry related to automobile. The correlation analysis revealed the high correlation between Cr and Ni in plating industry from Sihwa and Banwol industrial complexes. Adding to this, components related to coal combustion and road dust showed high correlation in Pohang and Gwangyang industrial complexes. Then Onsan and Ulsan industrial complexes showed high correlation among components related to the nonferrous metals.

발생원에 근거한 울산지역의 대기중금속 분포특성 및 발암위해성 평가 (Distribution Characteristics of Ambient Heavy Metals based on the Emission Sources and their Carcinogenic Risk Assessment in Ulsan, Korea)

  • This study has been conducted to evaluate the influence of ambient heavy metals to the air quality and to find their sources in Ulsan. Korea. The distribution characteristics of ambient heavy metals with wind direction were investigated by using pollution-rose diagram. Carcinogenic risk for five trace heavy metals (Pb. Cd, Cr, Mn, and Ni), which are classified to carcinogenic material by US EPA, are assessed according to the classification system of USEPA and WHO. According to pollution-rose calculation on pollutants sources, Pb and Cu in Deoksin, which is an adjacent to Onsan industrial complexes, were $0.1058\;and\;0.3242{\mu}g/m^3$. These concentration levels are the highest at all sampling sites. From this result we could confirm that it was affected by Onsan industrial complex that is located northeast of Deoksin.,And the maximum concentration of Cd, Cr, and Ni were $0.0306,\;0.0102,\;and\;0.0146\;{\mu}g/m^{3} in Yeocheon respectively. Because Yeocheon is in the Mipo industrial complexes, which have many combustors, incinerators, and manufacturing facilities compared to other regions. In carcinogenic risk assessment, Pb, Ni, and Mn concentration level at six sampling sites were lower than the risk level guideline values ($10^{-5}$) of WHO. However, $Cr^{6+}$ and Cd concentration in Yeocheon were 60% and 205% higher than the guideline values of WHO. Therefore it is very important that the emission from industrial complexes were carefully managed and controlled to improve air quality in residential area.

온산공단 부근의 해양오염물질 이동 (TRANSPORT AND DIFFUSION OF POLLUTANTS IN THE COASTAL WATERS OF ONSAN INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX)

  • 온산만내에서는 대조시 조류가 우세한 편이지만 (0.1 kt), 소조시의 표층류는 매우 불규칙하며(0.07 kt), 취송류와 지형성 소용돌이의 영향을 크게 받는다. 대조시 만북부에서는 썰물 때 동류하고 밀물 때 서류한다. 만남부에서는 밀물은 서북서류하고 철물은 동북동류이다. 만외에서는 조류가 우세하여 밀물 때 남-남남서류하고 썰물 때 북-북북동류한다. 최대유속은 $1\~1.1kt$로 관측되었다. 소조시의 항류는 북북동 14.3cm/sec였다. 우봉갑 남쪽 만입부에는 밀물갈때나 썰물갈 때 지름 약 1km미만의 시계방향 소용돌이가 존재하여 해수의 정체성이 비교적 강한편이다. 겨울의 취송류는 대체로 남류하며 최대유속은 약 0.1kt에 달한다. 온산만내에서 점원방출한 염료는 바람에 의해 변형되면서 주로 조류에 따라 만구쪽으로 이동, 분산하였고, 방출 3시간후의 평균확산계수는 $4.4\times10^4cm^2/sec$ 였다. 만외 만입부 시계방향의 환류내에서는 이보다 다소 낮은 값을 보였다.

  • 정부는 지역제조산업 육성을 목적으로 기존 부지를 개선 확장하거나 해안지역 매립을 통하여 신설하는 방향으로 산업단지조성을 위한 정책을 펼치고 있다. 따라서, 물리적 환경적인 특성의 관점에서 해안지역매립으로 인한 영향의 분석은 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문도 임해지역 국가산업단지 조성에 따른 영향을 인근 해역의 해양물리적 특성, 퇴적 및 확산 체계 변화, 해양환경 변화 등의 현상을 현장관측조사 및 수치시뮬레이션을 통하여 분석하고자 한다. 적용대상역은 울산광역시의 온산국가산업단지 인근의 해안선경계역이다. 검증을 위해 조석, 조류 및 퇴적에 관한 기존의 관측자료를 확보하였으며 일부 특정지점에서는 현장관측도 수행하였다. 검증한 모델로 실제대상해역에 적용하고 장래변화를 분석하였다.

일 지역 중.고등학생들의 환경성 질환 및 보건교육 실태 조사 (Research on the Actual State of Environmental Disease and Health Education at Middle and High School Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to perform basic study on environmental and respiratory diseases in Ulsan and vicinities. Also, this study evaluated the actual state of environmental disease and health education at middle and high schools in Ulsan and surroundings. Methods: For this study, we conducted a survey on the health of the general public, environmental effects, and investigated the characteristics of environmental disease, health and hygiene education, etc. The populations of this study were middle and high school students in Ulsan, Korea. This study investigated the knowledge of environmental disease and health education at schools in Ulsan and vicinities from November 2009 to December 2009. All statistical calculations were performed with Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) for Windows, and gained the following results by implementing Frequency Analysis, Cross-tabulation Analysis and ANOVA. Results: As more and more environmental diseases are increased, the interest of the people has been increasing on this. The incidence rates of asthma and atopy were represented the top 25% of the country in Korea. The source of heavy metal, PAHs and VOCs in Ulsan includes the Petrochemical Complex at Nam-gu and Ulju-gun, the Nonferrous Metal Industrial Complex at Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, and the Heavy Industrial Complex at Dong-gu and Buk-gu. Especially, there are a number of fossil fuel combustion facilities such as waste incineration plants and boilers at Nam-gu and the Onsan Industrial Complex. It may help greatly to investigate the characteristics of environmental pollutants such as environmental air pollutant and indoor contaminant to better manage the local student's health. Conclusions: It has been revealed that the hazardous chemicals and environmental contaminants are main substances of cause for asthma, atopy, dermatitis, and allergy disease. Therefore, through with collecting basic data such as environmental disease of inhabitants, health education, conscious and knowledgeable level in parents of students and students, We have to exert to improve knowledge and prevention with health life in school through development of health education program systematically for preventing of environmental disease.

한국 임해 공단 연안에서 퇴적물 해수 및 굴 (Crassostrea gigas)의 중금속 함량 (The Concentrations of Heavy Metals in Sediment Seawater and Oyster (Crassostrea gigas) in Coastal Region of Industrial Complex in Korea)

  • To investigate the degree of contamination from Korean coastal region, the concentrations of Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd in sediments, seawater and oyster (Crassostrea gigas) at Masan Bay, Onsan Bay, Daesan industrial complex and their control areas were analysed. Values for sediments, seawater and oyster in the industrial complex coastal region were higher than those in the control area except for seawater in Daesan. The values for dissolved phasc of Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd in seawater showed 0.3~1.75 ${\mu}g/l$, 0.013~0.12 ${\mu}g/l$, 0.20~6.14 ${\mu}g/l$ and 0.007~0.021 ${\mu}g/l$, respectively. The concentrations of Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd in sediments werd 12.0~47.8 ${\mu}g/g$, 6.16~59.5 ${\mu}g/g$, 43.0~230 ${\mu}g/g$ and 0.52~11.2 ${\mu}g/g$, respectively. The concentrations of Cu, Pb, Zn and Cd in oyster showed 12.1~85.6 ${\mu}g/g$, 0.267~1.48 ${\mu}g/g$, 1, 070~3, 250 ${\mu}g/g$ and 3.23~7.71 ${\mu}g/g$, respectively. The contents of heavy metals in oysters at industrial complex coastal region showed that they were not seriously contaminated compared with those of Mussel Watch (1992).

온산공단(溫山工團)주변토양의 중금속(重金屬) 농도조사 (A Survey on the Heavy Metal Concentration of Soil Samples around Onsan Industrial Complex)

  • 온산(溫山)공업단지 조성(造成)에 따른 토양(土壤)의 오염(汚染)가능성을 조사하기 위하여 1978년 3월부터 1979년 5월말까지 수차에 걸쳐 공업단지 주변의 전답(田畓), 과수원 및 야산(野山)의 토양시료에 대하여 중금속 원소의 농도를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 농경지통양 46개지점의 중금속 농도(풍건물(風乾物) 기준)는 비소 흔적${\sim}9.3ppm$, 카드뮴 흔적${\sim}$0.6 ppm, 구리4${\sim}$22ppm, 수은 흔적${\sim}$0.37ppm, 납 6${\sim}$43ppm, 아연 27${\sim}$93ppm으로서 전국(全國) 논토양의 분석치와 비교할 때 중금속의 오염은 전혀 인정할 수 없었다. 2) 중금속 함량을 논, 밭, 과수원의 토양별로 비교한 결과 As, Cd, Cu, Zn은 토양에 따라 유의차(有意差)가 없었으나 Hg, Pb는 유의차(有意差)가 있었다. 공단내(工團內) 리단위(里單位)지역에 따른 중금속 함량을 비교한 결과 As, Cd, Hg는 유의차(有意差)가 없었으나 Cu, Pb, Zn은 유의차(有意差)가 있었다. 3) 금속제련소 인접지역에서는 아연제련소(亞鉛製鍊所)의 시운전(試運轉)중 사고에 의하여 Cd, Pb, Zn으로 오염(汚染)된 지점이 여러곳 관찰되었으나 정상가동(正常稼動)에 들어간 이후에는 오염이 더 이상 진행되지 않았다.

地域代表性과 汚染被害를 考慮한 大氣汚染 測定網 配置技法의 開發에 關한 硏究 (Development of an Air Pollution Monitoring Network Design Method Based on Regional Representativeness and Pollution Damage Impact)

  • A new method for designing air pollution monitoring newtork is presented in this study. In this method, the magnitudes and the correlation coefficients of predicted concentrations in each grid points are examined and the monitoring stations are assigned to those stations which cover the damage cost the most. This method was applied to the Ulsan-Onsan Industrial Complex. This method turned out to be much more efficient than the method of TM coordinates and the method of concentric circles prescribed in the Standard Methods for Pollution Measurement as well as the existing monitoring system established in the area. The 21 stations selected by the method of TM coordinates could cover only 64.4% of the damage cost in the area, the 16 stations by the method of concentric circles 72.1%, and the existing 21 stations 67.8%, while 11 stations were enough to cover 90% of the damage cost in the area with this method. It also was found that this method required only 24 stations to cover the entire area.

環境情報管理 系(EIMS)를 이용한 대기오염 피해분석방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Air Pollution Impact Analysis Using the Environmental Information Management System)

  • The degree of air pollution is usually presented in terms of concentration. But, in evaluating the environmental impacts or air pollution control policies, the concentration values need to be interpreted in terms of damage effects on property and human health. The damage effect varies with the types of pollution, subjects and land use pattern of an affected area. Therefore, this study is aimed at developing a method of analyzing effects of various types of air pollutions on surrounding environmental setting with the EIMS (Environmental Information Management System) developed for land suitability analysis. Using the method formulated in this study, the long- term effects of such pollutants as $SO_2$ and HF on types of vegetation and residents, and potential, short-term effects of HCl leak accidents from manufacturing facilities in Ulsan and Onsan Industrial complex are analyzed. The presentation of the damage effects of air pollution rather than the concentration of pollutants will be useful for the preparation of environmental impact statements, the formulation of environmental policies, and the development of land use plans in heavily industrialized areas.
