This research is to investigate the effects of product involvement on the selection of online shopping malls. From the statistical analysis of 282 response data, it was found that consumers buying products with higher involvement tend to shop in a shopping mall with greater trust, which provide more information regarding their products and a wider variety of products. The other purpose of this research is to investigate factors of shopping malls which influence the buyer's purchase intention. The results of data analysis indicate that consumers are more likely to buy in a shopping mall with greater trust, with detailed product information, and with higher entertaining contents. The results of the study indicate that the shopping malls which give more detailed product information to their customers and establish greater trust will finally lead to a higher sales revenue because more expensive products will be sold.
Emotional experience (James, 1884)[1] can affect people's behavior. There are few types of research on VR marketing(Maojun Zhou, Zeru Yan, 2018)[2] design based on emotional experience. This article is based on emotional evaluation theory and empirical research, and the VR marketing case "Buy+" online shopping platform (Wu Yongyi, 2016). It is concluded that there are three levels of emotional experience definition on VR marketing which decompose the features of the VR marketing design of "Buy+ as an online-shop" correspondingly and find out the design features of VR marketing from the perspective of emotional experience. Finally, through the analysis of the questionnaire data, it verified that vividness, functionality and effectiveness could represent the features of VR marketing design. Moreover, it analyzed the correlation among these factors. Vividness and functionality have the closest relationship among them. The definition, the components, and the correlation of the three-layer emotional experience obtained from this research can provide theoretical support and reference for other VR marketing designs.
Purpose - The ultimate purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of personal disposition on shopping value and behavioral intention by expanding the theory of planned behavior (TPB). Research design, data, and methodology - An attempt was made to examine the effects of personal disposition (reflecting duty-free shop characteristics) on three selective actions of consumers - compulsive buying, variety seeking, and price sensitivity. We conducted a questionnaire survey with the users of airport duty-free shops, downtown duty-free shops (offline), and online duty-free shops. In total, 410 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed using a structural equation model. Results - According to the results, compulsive buying, variety seeking, and price sensitivity significantly affected shopping value. Shopping value and subjective norms both had significant effects on attitude, the major variable in the TPB, and attitude had the greatest effect on behavioral intention, followed by subjective norms and perceived behavioral control in descending order. Conclusions - This study has academic implications in that it extends the existing theories of planned behavior and applies it to consumer characteristics and shopping value. It has practical implications as well in that it provides basic data that can be used to establish concrete marketing strategies for duty-free shop owners targeting segmented markets by closely examining customer desires.

Indonesia is currently intensifying its level of awareness of the importance of starting a business as an entrepreneur. How to respond to technological developments to help support the growth of a start-up entrepreneur. Usually before buying a product, customers always think of many factors that can influence their buying decisions in online shopping. The two factors that most influencing are, Discounts and Promotions, which can greatly determine people's purchase intention, before finally buying the product. The researcher begin research with the aim to understand whether these 2 factors are factors that really affect someone's buying interest before doing online shopping. For this study, information and data collected by the survey by using means of questionnaires. And it standard measurements using a 5-point Likert scale, and processed by IBM SPSS Statistics 25 program. In this study, it has been found that indeed these two factors, Discounts and Promotions, are both influential in encouraging someone's purchase intention in conducting online shopping transactions. We found that both factors are significant and influence each other. The results of this study expected to help broaden the horizons of buyers and sellers about the benefits of discounts and promotions in online shopping.
The adoption of artificial intelligence technology is continuously increasing in online stores. However, there have been no empirical studies that examine whether each of the artificial intelligence functions affects consumers' continuance intent to shop online. This study aims to understand the effect of the main function of artificial intelligence on the continuance intention of online store via empirical analysis. In particular, we focus on how artificial intelligence as a resource affects the heterogeneity of online stores in terms of resource-based views. We also analyzed the mediating effect of online store's image (product and service) between artificial intelligence (AI) functions and continuance intention. The results suggest that the presence of AI function on online stores positively influence the continuance intention from the resource-based perspective. Furthermore, it was found that AI technology positively affects the image of a product and service. We also found that there was a difference in the way of influencing the intention to use online stores by AI functions.
This study investigates consumer awareness and concerns regarding apparel sizing in the realm of online shopping. A survey was conducted with 450 women aged 18-59 who had engaged in online clothing purchases within the past year. It was observed that consumers shop for clothes online an average of 1.6 times per month, with those under 50 shopping more frequently. The importance of size is higher when buying pants than jackets, especially in online shopping compared to offline purchases. Key references guiding online shopping decisions encompassed product sizing codes, customer reviews, and garment dimensions, which were notably favored by consumers with significant concerns. Respondents opted for Korean-style sizing codes for jackets but chose inch-sizing codes for pants. While awareness of height and weight remains high, knowledge of specific body measurements crucial for clothing size design is lacking, suggesting inadequate communication of size information. Respondents prioritized specific areas for jacket and pants fit, yet the lack of comprehensive self-measurements beyond height and weight might present challenges in determining fit based solely on product dimensions. To address this issue, online retailers should display essential garment dimensions and visually suggest clothing sizes according to various body types. These findings provide valuable insights for online retailers to effectively present size information and lay a foundational framework for consumer size education.
The current new distribution environment provides the consumers to shop at anytime and any places by using mobile appliances. So, the companies which run the offline-store increase the contact point with the consumer by launching not only online-store but also the mobile application (app). Moreover, they are trying to operate the Omni-channel shopping environment. In order for this research to draw the direction of 'the Omni-Channel Strategy', which is about the changed distribution environment of the domestic fashion enterprise, the following steps were performed. First of all, the term related to 'Omni-Channel' is defined. And then, Example of the 'Omni-Channel' strategy and 'O2O' business in the domestic distributior were researched. Lastly, present condition of the 'Omni-Channel' strategy case of the domestic fashion industry was researched. At the result, the online-stores usually have several brands which can not represent their identities. It is suggested that each online-store according to each brand has their own characteristic identity. And The Omni-Channel strategy of the domestic fashion enterprise that is needed the connection point connecting the on-line and off-line. It is able to allure the customer to the off-line-store.
Purpose - To understand the assessment basis of customers' coffee shop experience and give more practical advices to the franchised coffee shops which are poorly managed in the competitive market, this study identified factors to measure the quality of customer experience and explored the relationship between these factors and customer satisfaction and loyalty. Further, this study analyzed which role self-efficacy played in the structural relationship between the quality assessment factors, satisfaction and loyalty of franchised coffee shops. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected from respondents who had visited franchised coffee shops within the previous month through online survey. The questionnaires were surveyed from February 11 to February 14, 2019. A total of 318 responses were collected after excluding four of incomplete or uncandid responses. A structural equation modeling approach was used to examine the proposed hypothesis and a confirmatory factor analysis was employed to verify the four dimensions of quality assessment. Results - The findings of this study are as follows. First, the three of quality assessment variables significantly influenced on satisfaction except environmental quality. Second, economic and service quality significantly influenced on self-efficacy but environmental and menu quality didn't. Third, satisfaction significantly influenced on loyalty but not on self-efficacy. Fourth, self-efficacy significantly influenced on Loyalty. Conclusions - This study identified the four dimensions to assess the franchised coffee shop service - menu, environment, service and economic quality and verified these four dimensions are valid as indicators to measure the quality of customers' coffee shop experience. Further, by empirically testing the structural relationships among these quality assessment dimensions, satisfaction, self-efficacy and loyalty, this study provided theoretical foundations to explore the relationship between customer and the franchised stores in restaurant businesses. For the industry, the study findings showed that customers highly appreciated menu and economic quality of the service rather than the stores' interior. This indicate that the franchised coffee shops need to focus more on the basics of coffee such as taste and menu variety and economic value than the decoration of the store, which are often over-invested nowadays.
The purpose of this paper is to examine the impact of servicescape on perceived service quality, service satisfaction and to verify causal relationships between servicescape, technical service quality, functional service quality, service satisfaction, and service loyalty in coffee shop franchises. An online survey was conducted to collect the data from the actual service customers of coffee shop franchises. An analysis of structural equation modeling was performed using AMOS 24.0 and SPSS 24.0 to test the research hypotheses. The results of the study are as follows: first, servicescape has positive influence on technical service quality and functional service quality except for service satisfaction. Second, both technical service quality and functional service quality have positive influence on service satisfaction. Finally, service satisfaction has a strong effect on service loyalty. This paper finds that it is more appropriate to model the servicescape as a separate construct which precedes both functional service quality and technical service quality. Servicescape in the coffee shop service has the influence on shaping service quality perceptions and their subsequent impact on service satisfaction and service loyalty.
Purpose: The hotel industry needs a leader who can actively demonstrate leadership to respond to and accept changes in the organization in a highly competitive and fast-changing environment. Therefore, the role of leaders who instill clear vision and goals of the organization in their members, listen to their opinions, and empathize is paramount. Leaders should encourage successful organizational activities based on active participation by employees and create the best environment for working with a sense of mission and responsibility. This study aims to identify the relationship between empathy leadership and job engagement as a result variable of team cohesion in the hotel culinary department and conduct empirical studies on the role of empathy leadership and job engagement. Research design, data, and methodology: The data were collected from employees who work in culinary department at a five-star franchise hotel located in the Seoul metropolitan area. Because it is difficult to conduct a survey through face-to-face contact with employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the online survey was conducted from February 1 to February 28, 2020. A total of 330 questionnaires through online were distributed and 268 employees completed the survey, yielding a response rate of 81%. Of the 268 returned responses, 27 responses were not usable due to missing information. Thus, a total of 241 responses were used for analysis. Results: The study results are as follows. First, it has been shown that the empathy leadership of culinary department in hotel companies has a significant positive impact on the job engagement. Second, it has been shown that job engagement has a significant positive effect on members' team cohesiveness. Third, empathy leadership of hotel companies' culinary department has a significant positive impact on members' team cohesiveness. Fourth, job engagement has a significant positive (+) mediating effect in the relationship between empathy leadership and team cohesiveness in culinary department. Conclusion: This study supports the theory that an emotional and empathic leader's behavior or ability can change the effectiveness or atmosphere of a rapidly changing hotel culinary team organization by presenting a research model on the effect of empathic leadership on job engagement and team cohesiveness. And hotel chefs should be more aware of the importance of empathic leadership and make them a human resource of the organization through formal and informal communication with culinary employees.
