고혈압 환자의 사회적 지지와 자가간호행위와의 관계 (Relationship between Social Support and Self-care of Patients with Hypertension)

  • Purpose: This descriptive correlational study was done to analyze the relationship between social support and self-care in hypertensive patients aged 30 years or older. Methods: Data were collected from April 09 to April 16, 2020 through an online survey (Naver Form) at Internet cafes and SNS Eighty 80 adults aged 30 or older who had been diagnosed with high blood pressure at a medical institution participated in the study. Data were analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé's test and Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS statistics 26.0. Results: The study results showed that social support for hypertensive patients was significantly higher for men (t=-2.17, p=.033), according to religious status (t=-2.33, p=.023), and the number of people in the household (F=6.05, p=.001). In addition, there was a significant positive correlation between social support and hypertensive self-care (r=.24, p=.036). Conclusion: The results confirm that the social support of patients with hypertension is related to self care for hypertension management. As the number of elders and single-person households who cannot manage their health well increases, it is necessary to establish a long-term and continuous social support system for these clients.

일-학습 병행을 위한 온라인 교육 시스템 (Online Education System for Work Based Learning Dual System)

  • 국내 대학교육은 높은 진학률과 낮은 취업률이라는 과잉학력의 악순환이 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 악순환을 해소하고, 청년 실업 해소와 청년층의 노동시장 조기 진입을 지원 및 유도하기 위하여 근로자의 '선취업-후학습' 기회를 확대하고, 재직자의 직무능력 향상을 위하여 일과 학습을 병행할 수 있는 교육 훈련 시스템이 필요하다. 최근 MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course)이라는 새로운 형태의 온라인 교육 시스템이 등장 하였다. MOOC는 교육, entertainment, social networking을 결합한 교수-학생, 학생-학생간의 상호작용을 강조한 새로운 형태의 온라인 교육환경으로 강의 콘텐츠를 무료로 제공하고 있다. 이러한 변화된 온라인 교육환경을 활용하여 지식을 온라인으로 효과적으로 제공하고, 기술 및 공학교육에 꼭 필요한 실습교육을 캠퍼스에서 제공하는 멀티학습체제를 구축함으로써 재직자들의 일과 학습을 병행할 수 있도록 지원할 수 있다.

코로나바이러스감염증-19 발생기간 동안 보건진료전담공무원의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Related to the Mental Health of Community Health Practitioners during the COVID-19 Outbreak in Korea)

  • Purpose: To assess levels of mental health among community health practitioners during the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea and associations between practitioner mental health and personal and psychosocial factors. Methods: Data were collected from a convenient sample of 275 community health practitioners using an online questionnaire, which included items on mental health (K-WEMWBS), psychosocial factors (COVID-19 sensitivity, COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, perceived stress), and personal characteristics. Collected data were analyzed using the t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression in SPSS 25.0. Results: Mean mental health score was 51.27±8.47. Multiple linear regression revealed that time spent as a community health practitioner, COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, and perceived stress were significantly associated with mental health. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that comprehensive intervention with emphases on improving COVID-19 self-confidence, social support, and reducing stress is required to improve community health practitioner mental health. The results also indicate a need for educational programs aimed at improving the mental health of young community health practitioners.

간호대학생의 학업스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Academic Stress of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study were to identify degree and the relationship between of self-efficacy, social support, and academic stress of nursing college students. Method: This study was a descriptive research study to analyze the factors affecting academic stress. Data were collected by structured questionnaires from June 10 to 30, 2020. The survey conducted an online survey of 159 students in D and B city. Data were analyzed descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression Results: Academic stress were correlated with self-efficacy(r=-.41, p<.001) and social support(r=-.40, p<.001). In a multiple regression, self-efficacy(β=-.170, p=.010), social support(β=-.137, p=.042) were associated academic stress. These factors attributed to 22.2% of the total variance in academic stress. Conclusion: Therefore the factors affective intervention techniques need to be applied to the development of programs to upgrade mental health academic stress of nursing students.

Online Tie Formation in Enterprise Social Media

  • We study the antecedents to tie formation on an (Facebook-like) enterprise social media platform implemented to support cross-boundary connections. Research has produced mixed findings regarding the role of social media in cultivating bridging vs. closed networks. We examine the tie formation patterns of 1,386 enterprise social media users over a two-year period. Specifically, we observe who became (or chose not s become) "friends" with whom at the dyadic level and relate the decisions to various mechanisms that affect one's network to expand, constrain, or bridge. Using logistic and OLS regressions, we find that users tend to form ties via reciprocity and transitivity (with friends of friends), both of which help expand one's network. We also find strong networking tendency toward functional and hierarchical homophily (same business unit and same rank, respectively), which is likely to constrain one's network (closed network structure). We find that one's participation in various online interest groups is likely to open one's network (bridging network structure) while no evidence found for preferential attachment. Overall, we find that enterprise social media offers features, some of which are likely to foster bridging while others foster closed networks via different mechanisms.

챗봇서비스의 지원품질이 사용자 만족, 충성도 및 지속사용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 사회적 실재감의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Support Quality of Chatbot Services on User Satisfaction, Loyalty and Continued Use Intention: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Social Presence)

  • 본 연구는 고객이 챗봇서비스를 통하여 제공 받는 사회적 지원(정서적 지원, 정보적 지원)이 고객이 느끼는 챗봇서비스 만족에 영향을 미치는지 확인하고, 이 챗봇서비스의 만족이 충성도와 챗봇서비스 지속사용의도에 영향을 미치는지 연구하였다. 그리고, 챗봇서비스의 사회적 실재감의 조절효과를 확인하기 위해 사회적 실재감을 높게 인식하는 그룹과 낮게 인식하는 그룹으로 나누어 온라인 설문을 실시하여 총 300개의 유효 데이터를 얻었다. 분석결과 사회적 실재감을 높게 인식하는 그룹에서는 정서적 지원에서 챗봇서비스의 만족으로의 경로가 지지되었고, 사회적 실재감을 낮게 인식하는 그룹에서는 정서적 지원에서 챗봇서비스 만족으로의 경로가 지지되지 못하였으며 가설 경로계수에서도 차이가 확인되었다. 이는 사회적 실재감이 인간의 정서적 반응에 영향을 미치는 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구는 사회적 지원의 두 가지 요인인 정보적 지원과 정서적 지원을 챗봇서비스에 적용하여 챗봇 이용자가 느끼는 챗봇의 사회적 실재감 정도에 따른 만족도, 충성도, 지속적 이용 간의 관계를 실증하였다는 점에서 챗봇서비스의 사회적 실재감의 기능에 시사점을 제공해 줄 수 있다.

임부의 임신스트레스에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 단면연구 (Factors influencing pregnancy stress in pregnant women in Korea: a cross-sectional study)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between maternal knowledge and social support on pregnancy stress among pregnant women in Korea. Methods: The participants in this study were 148 pregnant women in Korea, recruited from online communities on pregnancy and/or childbirth, from June 2019 to April 2020. The collected data were analyzed using the independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: Participants were at average 18.25±8.28 weeks gestation, 56% were in the second trimester, 31% had one or more health issues in the current pregnancy (e.g., hyperemesis gravidarum), and 76% were first-time mothers. Participants had moderate levels of pregnancy stress (mean, 23.09±7.11 points out of 48) and maternal knowledge (mean, 14.42±4.67 points out of 21), whereas social support was somewhat high (mean 45.88±7.81 points out of 60). Pregnancy stress was weakly negatively correlated with social support (r=-.37, p<.001). Main source of pregnancy information (β=-.21, p=.011), marital satisfaction (β=-.18, p=.036), and social support (β=-.19, p=.038) were identified as significant factors affecting pregnancy stress, and these variables had an explanatory power of 22.7% for pregnancy stress. Conclusion: Based on these findings, nurses should assess pregnancy-related stress during pregnancy and consider main source of pregnancy information and marital satisfaction when providing education or counseling. Moreover, strategies to reduce pregnancy stress through social support are needed to improve the quality of life for pregnant women.

Factors associated with clinical nurses' preconception health behavior in Korea: a cross-sectional survey

  • Purpose: Nurses have been reported to be at an increased risk for miscarriage and preterm labor. However, there is limited knowledge regarding nurses' preconception health behaviors. Therefore, this study aimed to identify factors influencing these behaviors. Methods: One hundred sixty nurses, who were planning their first pregnancy within the upcoming year, participated in an online survey from August 11 to October 31, 2021. Data on preconception health behavior, perceived health status, pregnancy anxiety, nursing practice environment, and social support were analyzed using the t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. Results: Age (p=.024), educational level (p=.010), marital status (p=.003), work experience (p=.003), satisfaction with the work department (p<.001), smoking status (p=. 039), and previous health problems related to pregnancy outcomes (p=.004) were significantly associated with nurses' preconception health behaviors. Furthermore, perceived health status (p<.001), pregnancy anxiety (p=.011), nursing practice environment (p=.003), and social support (p<.001) showed significant correlations with preconception health behaviors. Social support (β=. 28, p=.001), satisfaction with the work department (β=.23, p=.032), marital status (β=.22, p=.002), and perceived health status (β=.23, p=.002) were confirmed as factors associated with preconception health behaviors. These factors explained 40.9% of the variance in preconception health behaviors (F=6.64, p<.001). Conclusion: Clinical nurses' preconception health behaviors were influenced by social support, perceived health status, satisfaction with the work department, and marital status. Interventions to improve clinical nurses' preconception health behaviors should target social support and perceived health status. A preconception health behavior education program considering clinical nurses' marital status and satisfaction with the workplace can also be implemented.

Factors related to the intention of healthy eating behaviors based on the theory of planned behavior: focused on adults residing in Beijing, China

  • Purpose: The theory of planned behavior (TPB) was used to investigate how the psychological constructs of attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control (PBC) affect the individual intention of behaviors in adults. Social support is also important in enabling the stability of healthy eating. This study examined the relationship between three major constructs of TPB as well as social support and the intention of healthy dietary behaviors in adults residing in Beijing, China using the extended TPB. Methods: The study questionnaire was based on previously validated items and an online survey was conducted from October to November 2020. Using a total of 244 Chinese adults in Beijing, multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the relationships between three major constructs of TPB as well as the social support and intention of healthy eating. Results: Among the three major constructs of TPB, subjective norms (p = 0.044) and PBC (p = 0.000) were significantly related to the behavioral intention of healthy eating (p = 0.000), and the model explained 76.6% of the variance of the behavioral intention from the three constructs of TPB included in the multiple linear regression model. The additional inclusion of social support to the model did not increase the explanatory power of the model to describe the behavioral intention of healthy eating. The subjective norms (p = 0.040) and PBC (p = 0.000) were still significant where social support did not explain the variance of the behavioral intention adequately. Conclusion: The subjective norms and PBC may be potential determinants of the behavioral intention of healthy eating in adults residing in Beijing, China. These study results can be used to promote healthy eating in Chinese adults living in urban areas. Large-scale intervention studies will be needed to determine if social norms and PBC predict the actual behaviors of healthy eating in Chinese adults.

Attribution of Responsibility, Risk Perception, and Perceived Corporate Social Responsibility in Predicting Policy Support for Climate Change Mitigation: Evidence from South Korea

  • A recent nationwide survey reported that South Koreans perceive large corporations as the party that should be the most responsible for tackling climate change. This public opinion result offers insight into the argument that defining who is responsible for the climate change issue can guide campaigners and policymakers in designing effective communication strategies. This study examines how attributing responsibility to large corporations can affect behavioral intention to support government policy and regulation via a moderated mediation model of the perceived risk of climate change and corporate social responsibility (CSR). A nationwide online survey of 295 South Koreans was conducted. The findings reveal an indirect effect of responsibility attribution on behavioral intention through risk perception. Moreover, perceived CSR moderated the causal link between risk perception and behavioral intention, such that South Koreans reported higher levels of behavioral intention when they reported higher CSR. However, perceived CSR failed to moderate the indirect effect. These findings have implications for communication processes and policymaking to address climate change problems in South Korea.
