Establishing Online Meeting Climate Types and Developing Measurements: Impact on Meeting Satisfaction

  • In the post covid-19 era, organizations will experience a new environment. Advances in technologies such as AI and big data, and new experiences such as online meetings and lectures, will increase the use of online communication. Businesses will increasingly engage in online-based information sharing, virtual team operations, and online meetings. This study focuses on meeting climate and satisfaction, to improve the performance of online meetings. Existing studies on meeting climate presuppose off-line situations. Offline and online communication methods and meeting formats are different. This paper proposes new climate types to develop an appropriate climate for online-based meetings. To apply these climates in online meetings, a measurement scale was developed and the impact on online meeting satisfaction was verified. As a result of the study, it was found that the creativity-oriented meeting climate was the most important, and relation-oriented and participation-oriented meeting climates also had a significant effect, while the direction-oriented and task-oriented climates were relatively less important. This study develops new variables and measurements for online meeting climates, and explains their importance. Companies will be able to leverage the appropriate climates for online meetings to improve performance.

  • Online Information Meeting은 명실공히 콘텐트나 정보 산업 부문에 있어서 세계 최대의 전시 이벤트이다. 금년도로 22회째 맞는 Online Information Meeting은 한국데이터베이스진흥센터가 국내관련 업계의 종사자들과 함께 수년전부터 매해 참관단을 파견하여 온 국제 전시 및 컨퍼런스이다. 국내 경제가 어려워 부득이 참관단은 구성하지 못하고, 마침 영국의 DTI(Department of Trade&Industry)방문 계획이 있어 일정을 Online Information Meeting 개막일에 맞추었다.

The Distribution of Information through Online Meeting after COVID-19: Examining the Effect of Past Behavior

  • Purpose: Online meeting is chosen instead of face-to-face conferences as a solution that ensures both effectiveness and legality during times of strong epidemic outbreaks. In the current period, managers can have different types of meeting options for information distribution. This study has examined the effect of past behavior on the managers' intention of organizing online meetings. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected from a survey with 475 managers and put into SmartPLS 4.0 for analysis. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to test relationships in the research model. Results: The findings indicated that past behavior plays the most critical role in explaining the organizing online meeting intention of managers, followed by attitude and subjective norms. Meanwhile, the perceived behavioral control factor has absolutely no effect on intention in the context of this study. Notably, attitude and subjective norms also remarkably mediated the impact of past behavior on managers' intention. Conclusions: This study has added to the understanding of the meeting organization behavior of managers. Even if the epidemic is under control, the administrators should still organize some meetings in the form of online because it will affect the social perceptions of future behavior and behavioral intention.

미국 컨벤션뷰로의 웹사이트 서비스 품질결정요인 (DETERMINANTS OF US CVB'S WEBSITE SERVICE QUALITY)

  • Website service quality is widely accepted as one of the key determinants of online business success. Several studies identified key factors that determine the website service quality factors appropriate for online business environments. A convention and visitors bureau (CVB) website is a service portal that delivers information online about a destination so users can develop an overall image of the location. CVBs struggle to deliver positive destination images because the competition among destinations to host conventions is intense. In spite of the important role of CVBs and the beneficial spillover effect of CVBs, there are few studies available reporting on the unique service qualities of a CVB website. The primary purpose of this study was to examine the determining factors that are appropriate for CVB websites from the meeting planners' perspective. The research questions arc: What are the determining factors of service quality of a CVB website? Do the determining factors of CVB website service quality positively influence meeting planners' satisfaction? The new conceptual framework was developed from a variety of destination marketing and Internet marketing concepts: e-servicescape management, web community network, Internet service encounter management, and online system quality. Empirical results indicate that three of the four factors, that is, e-servicescape, web community network, and online system quality are important determinants in evaluating CVB website service quality. The findings also show that three determinants have significant and positive influence on meeting planners' satisfaction. The findings from this study will provide meaningful advice for CVB website quality management. To enhance the CVB website service quality and satisfaction level of meeting planners, these three determinants' should be considered of the utmost strategic importance and priority.

  • 이번에 한국데이터베이스진흥센터가 SK텔레콤을 비롯한 12개 기관 19명으로 구성된 참관단을 구성하여 National Online Meeting과 newMedia 2000 을 참관하게 되었다. 이번 참관의 목적은 정보서비스의 발전 현황을 파악하여 선진기술을 습득하고 업체간 협력관계 충전을 도모하는 것이었다. 5월 16일부터 5월 18일가지 미국 뉴욕 힐튼호텔에서 열렸던 National Online Meeting은 올해로 21번째를 맞이하는 북미 최대의전자정보 전시회이고 newMedia 2000은 5월 16일부터 18일까지 카나다 토론토 컨벤션 센터에서 개최된 전시회로 올해로 9회째를 맞는 뉴미디어와 멀티미디어 제품을 전시하는 북미 최대의 전시회이다.

Design of an Automatic Summary System for Minutes Using Virtual Reality

  • Owing to the environment in which it has become difficult to face people, on-tact communication has been activated, and online video conferencing platforms have become indispensable collaboration tools. Although costs have dropped and productivity has improved, communication remains poor. Recently, various companies, including existing online videoconferencing companies, have attempted to solve communication problems by establishing a videoconferencing platform within the virtual reality (Virtual Reality) space. Although the VR videoconference platform has only improved upon the benefits of existing video conferences, the problem of manually summarizing minutes because there is no function to summarize minute documents still remains. Therefore, this study proposes a method for establishing a meeting minute summary system without applying cases to a VR videoconference platform. This study aims to solve the problem of communication difficulties by combining VR, a metaverse technology, with an existing online video conferencing platform.

대학에서의 실시간 온라인 시험 경험 및 공정성 (Real-time Online Test Experience and Fairness at a University)

  • 본 연구는 실시간 온라인 시험방식을 고안하여 K대학교 간호학과 4학년 33명을 대상으로 2020년 1학기에 7차례의 시험을 실시한 결과를 공유하고, 실시간 온라인 시험에서의 공정성 확보방안을 제시하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구에서의 실시간 온라인 시험은 zoom cloud meetings를 활용하였다. 학생들이 PC나 노트북 중 한 가지 기기와 휴대폰으로 동시에 회의에 참여하도록 하였고, 교수자는 한 문제씩 화면에 실시간으로 띄워주며 비공개톡을 활용하여 답안을 수거하였다. 이러한 방식을 통해 학생들의 모니터 화면과 키보드, 마우스, 자세를 모니터링하고 통제하였다. 실시간 온라인 시험에 대한 설문조사 결과, 93.8%의 학생들이 전반적으로 공정하게 진행되었고 만족스럽다고 응답하였고, 90.6%의 학생들은 온라인 시험을 다른 사람에게 추천할 의향이 있다고 하였다. 다가오는 미래에는 원격강의와 온라인 시험이 보다 활성화될 것이므로 보다 공정하고 체계적이며 누구나 쉽게 활용할 수 있는 온라인 시험방식을 개발함으로써 점차 다른 시험으로도 확대시키려는 노력이 필요하다.

텔레프레즌스 서비스를 위한 몰입도 분석 기술 (Engagement Analysis Technology for Tele-presence Services)

  • A Telepresence service is an advanced video conferencing service at aimed providing remote users with the feeling of being present together at a particular location for a face-to-face group meeting. The effectiveness in this type of meeting can be further increased by automatically recognizing the audiovisual behaviors of the video conferencing users, accurately inferring their level of engagement from the recognized reactions, and providing proper feedback on their engagement state. In this paper, we review the recent developments of such engagement analysis techniques being utilized in various applications, such as human-robot interaction, content evaluation, telematics, and online collaboration services. In addition, we introduce a real-time engagement analysis framework employed in our telepresence service platform for an increased participation in online group collaboration settings.

노령층의 온라인 커뮤니티 이용이 사회화와 사회적 고립감에 미치는 직·간접 효과 (Direct and Indirect Effects of Older Adults' Use of Online Communities on Socialization and Social Isolation)

  • 본 연구는 노령층의 온라인 커뮤니티 이용과 사회화 그리고 사회적 고립감 사이의 잠재적 관계에 대해 탐색해 보고자 했다. 위계적 회귀분석의 분석결과에 따르면, 온라인 커뮤니티 회원으로 구성된 개인적 네트워크의 크기와 질은 사회화에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며 사회적 고립감 또한 저하시켰다. 그러나 온라인 커뮤니티의 회원들과의 오프라인 미팅의 유의미한 효과는 발견되지 않았다. 이에 더해, 온라인 커뮤니티를 이용하는 시간은 사회화로 매개되어 사회적 고립감에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 연구결과는 제한된 사회적 관계로 인해 발생할 수 있는 심리적 문제들을 극복하는데 있어서 온라인 커뮤니티의 이용이 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있음을 시사한다.
