  • Filippinodillo flavimaculis and F. palawanensis from Philippines, are described as new species. For the presence of a ledge on pereonal epimeron 1, F. flavimaculis resembles both of the previously known species, F. maculatus Schmalfuss, 1987 and F. kimberleyensis Lewis, 1998, but differs from F. maculatus in the shape of frontal shield and from F. kimberleyensis in the shape of ventral surface of pereonal epimera 3-7 and pleonal epimeron 3. F. palawanensis is easily distinguished from all the others in the genus by the shape of the pereonal epimeron 1 not forming a ledge and with lateral margin grooved entirely.

B. siamenis is similar to B. mauritiensis (Taiti and Ferrara, 1983) in color pattern and the shape of telson, but distinguished by the shape of pereonite 7 with obtuse postero-lateral angle and the peculiar shape of male pleopod 2 endopod with truncated apex. B. phanganensis is close to B. ocellatus Verhoeff, 1928) in the shape of pereonite 7 and telson, but easily distinguished by the peculiar shape of male pleopod 1 endopod with two rows of denticles on caudal surface.

  • A new species, Burmoniscus phuketensis, is described from Ko Phuket, Thailand. The new species belongs to the group characterized by male pereopods 1 and 2 with enlarged and flattened carpi, including B. coecus (Budde-Lund, 1895), B. ferrarai (Schumalfuss, 1983), B. mossambicus (Ferrara and Taiti, 1985), B. rowei Taiti and Manicastri, 1988, and B. rakataensis Green, Ferrara and Taiti, 1990. Among them, this new species resembles B. coecus and B. rakataensis in the pigmentless body and the shape of pereonite 7 epimeron with acute postero-lateral corner, but is easily distinguished from both specie by the shape of telson. While the eyes are absent in B. coecus, they are present in this new species.
