  • This paper proposes the multidimensioa! nested attribute indexing techniques (MD- NAI) in object-oriented databases using a multidimensional index structure. Since most conventional indexing techniques for object oriented databases use a one-dimensional index stnlcture such as the B-tree, they do not often handle complex qUlTies involving both nested attributes and class hierarchies. We extend a tunable two dimensional class hierachy indexing technique(2D-CHI) for nested attributes. The 2D-CHI is an indexing scheme that deals with the problem of clustering ohjects in a two dimensional domain space that consists of a kev attribute dOI11'lin and a class idmtifier domain for a simple attribute in a class hierachy. In our extended scheme, we construct indexes using multidimensional file organizations that include one class identifier domain per class hierarchy on a path expression that defines the indexed nested attribute. This scheme efficiently suppoI1s queries that involve search conditions on the nested attribute represcnted by an extcnded path expression. An extended path expression is a one in which a class hierarchy can be substituted by an indivisual class or a subclass hierarchy in the class hierarchy.

  • In this paper, we write about EDISON program. We study about where to use this program. We can use this program for FEA naturally. But we study that using this program in class. Many students can't understand many mechanics of materials' problem. They want to see image such as change of beam. It can help students to understand many problem. We can use ANSYS or Abaqus. But EDISON program is better for students because of it is freeware. In this paper, I write two problem. One is peak stress of basic beam, another is shearing stress flow of I-beam. On the basis of this, EDISON program will be widely used.

  • It is not too much to say that problem solving is still the focus of school mathematics though the trend of mathematics education for ten year from the one of 1980 is problem solving and the one of mathematics education for ten year from the one of 1990 is standards and constructivism. There are so many crucial clues or methods in good problem solving but I think that one of them is a representation. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate what is the meaning of representation in general and why representation is so important in elementary mathematics learning, Moreover, I have analyzed the gifted children's thinking of representation which is appeared in the previous internet home task of 40 gifted children who are selected through the examination of 1st, 2nd with paper and pencil and 3rd with practical skill and interview and finally I have presented some examples of children's representation how they use representation to model, investigate and understand special concept more easily in elementary school mathematics class.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the discourse structure of teachers that can help students participate in class by using mathematical metaphors that can arouse students' interest and motivation. In order to achieve this goal, we observed a semester class of a career teacher who practiced pedagogy that connects students' experiences with mathematical concepts to motivate students to learn and promote participation. Among the metaphors that the study target teachers used in a variety of mathematical concepts and problem-solving processes during the semester, we extracted the two class examples that can help develop teaching methods using metaphors. Representatively selected two classes are one class example using metaphors and, the other class example using metaphors and expanding and applying problems. As a result of analysis, the structure of teacher discourse that uses metaphors and expands and applies problems by linking students' experiences with mathematical content was found to help solve a given problem and elaborate mathematical concepts. As a result of the analysis, the discourse structure of teachers using mathematical metaphors based on communication with students could provide implications for the development of teaching methods for the recovery of mathematics education.

  • The study applied a narrative inquiry to the undergraduate interdisciplinary course taught for three years(2012~2014). Narratively I have described interactions among teachers' and students' performing the interdisciplinary consilience course with various situations such as place, curriculum and class interaction. I have specifically illuminated a three-dimensional narrative inquiry space embracing the dilemma of the consilience curriculum, PBL(Problem Based Learning) and TBL(Team Based Learning), and an effective presentation. The result of the study is as follows: First, the ratio of giving lecture is high. The burden of doing project will be reduce if the teacher decreases the lecture up to one fourth, gives students enough time to finish their tasks, and gives them advice for a better project. Second, for opening the interdisciplinary consilience class maintaining previous college curriculum, each department has to put a 'consilience course' on the existing curriculum that allows teachers open the consilience course whenever they need to teach with other department teachers. Third, an effective teaching method using the PBL(Problem Based Learning) in Team Based Learning environment is making students to consider projects as problem situations to solve and to apply the problem situations to PBL method. Lastly, teachers should give students lots of opportunities for presenting what they have learned in the class. Three times of presentation as a team member is ideal in a semester but the way of presenting has to be changed. The students in next year will relieve the tension of 30 minute instead of 15 minute, two days instead of one day for the team presentation.

  • Emotion Recognition is one of the important part to develop in human-human and human computer interaction. In this paper, we have focused on the performance of multi-class SVM (Support Vector Machine) with Gaussian RFB (Radial Basis function) kernel, which has been used to solve the problem of emotion recognition from physiological signals and to improve the accuracy of emotion recognition. The experimental paradigm for data acquisition, visual-stimuli of IAPS (International Affective Picture System) are used to induce emotional states, such as fear, disgust, joy, and neutral for each subject. The raw signals of acquisited data are splitted in the trial from each session to pre-process the data. The mean value and standard deviation are employed to extract the data for feature extraction and preparing in the next step of classification. The experimental results are proving that the proposed approach of multi-class SVM with Gaussian RBF kernel with OVO (One-Versus-One) method provided the successful performance, accuracies of classification, which has been performed over these four emotions.

  • In this paper we describe DCClass, a tool for fuzzy information granulation with transparency constraints. The tool is particularly suited to solve fuzzy classification problems, since it is able to automatically extract information granules with class labels. For transparency pursuits, the resulting information granules are represented in form of fuzzy Cartesian product of one-dimensional fuzzy sets. As a key feature, the proposed tool is capable to self-determining the optimal granularity level of each one-dimensional fuzzy set by exploiting class information. The resulting fun information granules can be directly translated in human-comprehensible fuzzy rules to be used for class inference. The paper reports preliminary experimental results on a medical diagnosis problem that shows the utility of the proposed tool.

  • In this paper, we investigate a modified $G^2$ transform on a class of Boehmians. We prove the axioms which are necessary for establishing the $G^2$ class of Boehmians. Addition, scalar multiplication, convolution, differentiation and convergence in the derived spaces have been defined. The extended $G^2$ transform of a Boehmian is given as a one-to-one onto mapping that is continuous with respect to certain convergence in the defined spaces. The inverse problem is also discussed.

  • We study n-class-based storage policy for an automated storage/retrieval system (AS/RS) and derive the closed form expressions of expected travel times under single command cycle. In order to confirm the correctness of the derivations, we consider both discrete and continuous storage racks, and show that the expressions for expected travel times of discrete rack converge to those of continuous one. We also derive the expected travel times when the coordinate locations for storages or retrievals are triangularly distributed and we try to solve class layout problem using the obtained results. Numerical examples are given in case of 3-class-based storage policy.
