Simultaneous controller of electronic ballast and PFC for a fluorescent lamp (형광등용 전자식 안정기 및 PFC 동시제어기)

  • In this paper, it has been proposed the simultaneous controller of electronic ballast and PFC(power factor corrector) for fluorescent lamp by one chip micro-controller. Boost DC-DC converter is adopted for PFC, and half bridge inverter for electronic ballast. It controls, simultaneously and independently, the boost DC-DC converter and the half bridge inverter. As electronic ballast and PFC are controlled by one chip micro-controller, it is possible to achieve the cheaper controller for fluorescent lamp. Experimental result has shown the feasibility of the proposed simultaneous controller of PFC and electronic ballast.

  • In this paper, authors will develop the quick and precise remote controller of automatic fire detection equipment (P-type one-class receiver) based on information communication technology (IT). The remote controller detects the fire and disaster in the building automatically and quickly and then activates the facilities to extinguish the fire and disaster, monitoring such situation in a real time through wire-wireless communication network. The proposed remote controller is applied a programmable logic device (PLD) micom. of one-chip type which is small size and lightweight and also has highly sensitive-precise reliabilities. The one-chip type PLD micom. analyzes digital signals from sensors, then activates fire extinguishing facilities for alarm and rapid suppression in a case of fire and disaster. The detected data is also transferred to a remote situation room through wire-wireless network of RS232c and bluetooth communication, and then the situation room sends an emergency alarm signal. The automatic fire detection equipment (AFDE) based on IT will minimize the life and wealth loss while prevents fire and disaster.

  • The overall size of electronic product is becoming small according to development of technology. Accordingly it is difficult to inspect these small components by human eyes. So, an automation system for inspecting them has been used. The existing system put microprocessor or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) use. The structure of microprocessor-based controller and PLC use basically composed of memory devices such as ROM, RAM and I/O ports. Accordingly, the system is not only becomes complicated and enlarged but also higher price. In this paper, we implement FPGA-based One-chip Programmable Timing Controller for Inspecting Small components to resolve above problems and design the high performance controller by using VHDL. With fast development, the FPGA of high capacity that can have memory and PLL have been introduced. By using the high-capacity FPGA, the peripherals of the existent controller, such as memory, I/O ports can be implemented in one FPGA. By doing this, because the complicated system can be simplified, the noise and power dissipation problems can be minimized and it can have the advantage in price. Since the proposed controller is organized to have internal register, counter, and software routines for generating timing signals, users do not have to problem the details about timing signals and need to only send some values about an inspection system through an RS232C port. By selecting theses values appropriate for a given inspection system, desired timing signals can be generated.

  • This Paper investigates the speed control of Switched reluctance motor(SRM) using one chip microcomputer The SRM has the advantages of simple structure low rotor inertia. and high efficiency. The Position sensor is essential in SRM in order to synchronize the Phase excitation to the rotor position. The proposed system consists of phase locked loop controller, switching angle controller and inverter. The Performances in the Proposed system are verified through the experiment.

  • This paper discussed the Multi-PAM inverter for static power supply design. The controller part composed of one-chip microcomputer obtained control pattern simply. The configuration of termination part was composed of double bridge inverter and three-phase, three-winding transformer. The output waveforms using a controller and transformers synthesized the multi-PAM wave form by a voltage level of 22 steps per one-cycle. The output waveforms using the Low Pass Filter approximated to the sine wave.

  • We are describing the architecture of a fuzzy logic controller using pulse-width-modulation (PDM) technique and a pipeline structure. Features of this controller are: A new architecture for the inference unit, reduced chip area and less I/O-pins. Additionally we present two different rule-bases: one hardwired with reduced chip-area and the other programmable for prototyping. Also an architecture of a parallel minimum-gate is shown.

  • This study is performed to develop an automatic irrigation control of system for effective water management in greenhouse. The automatic irrigation control system is composed of an IR-RED optical sensor in tensiometer and an One-chip micro controller. The following results are obtained : 1. A practical IR-RED optical sensor in tensiometer, which shows the starting point of irrigation, was developed. 2. The automatic irrigation system with the optical sensor and One-chip micro controller was developed and also designed to be able to combine with the control system for temperature, curtain opening, etc. 3. A multiple irrigation control system for several greenhouses were suggested. 4. The results of the system test with the driving program for automatic water management were excellent.

  • The electric furnace which has time delay and time varying characteristics cannot be controlled easily. In this paper, a fuzzy controller for a electric furnace is implemented using one chip processor 8751 and IBM PC. The fuzzy controller is implemented in the PC. The One chip processor 8751 can sense the furnace internal temperature and pass it to IBM PC and generate the driving signal for SSR. The membership function of the fuzzy controller is determined by Least Square method. from the experiments, we can show that the fuzzy controller can improve robustness to the load variation. And the settling time is reduce 4500 (sec) to 2500 (sec).

  • When a controller is implemented by a one-chip processor with fixed-point operations, the finite alphabet problem usually occurs since parameters and signals should be taken in a finite set of values. This paper formulates PID finite alphabet PID control problem which combines the PID controller with the finite alphabet problem. We will propose a PID parameter tuning method based on an optimization algorithm under the finite alphabet condition. The PID parameters can be represented by a fixed-point representation, and then the problem is formulated as an optimization with constraints that parameters are taken in the finite set. Some simulation are to be performed to exemplify the performance of the PID parameter tuning method proposed in this paper.

  • In industry, the speed control of single-phase induction motor in domestic use is generally controlled by a simple ON-OFF or PID control method. However, in this case, in order to have a good speed regulating characteristics, itself should be modified in accordance with the optimum PID factors which are varied each time operating speed changes. Shortening the development time and saving the cost which are needed to modify the controller is a major problem to be solved now in industry. In order to alleviate the above difficulties, it is proposed to apply adaptive control technique using MRFAC(Model Reference Following Adaptive Control) for the speed control of single-phase induction motor which has scarcely been studied. In this paper, the above speed control technique is achieved using MCS-96 one chip micro controller with a good speed control characteristics and it is expetted to open a wide application field in the speed control of single-phase induction motor in the future.
