Development of Regression Equation for Water Quantity Estimation in a Tidal River (감조하천에서의 저수위 유량산정 다중회귀식 개발)

  • Reliable flow measurement for dry season is very important to set up the in-stream flow exactly and total maximum daily load control program in the basin. Especially, in the points which tidal current effects are dominant because reliability of the low measurement decrease. The reliable measuring methods are needed. In this study, we analysis the water surface elevation difference of water surface elevation. Quantity relationship to consider tidal currents in these regions. It is known that tidal current effects from Nakdong river barrage are dominant in Samrangjin measuring station. We developed multiple regression equation with water surface elevation, quantity, and difference of water surface elevation and compared these results water measured rating curve. All of these regression equation including linear regression equation and log regression equation fits better measured data them existing water surface elevation quantity line and Among three equations, the log regression equation is best to represent the measured the rating curve in Samrangjin point. The log regression equation is useful method to obtain the quantity in the regions which tidal currents are dominant.

  • 온라인 전기버스용 전동기는 차량의 운전특성을 고려하여 가속성 향상을 위한 높은 기동토크가 요구되며, 넓은 속도영역 운전을 위한 약계자 제어성능이 우수해야 한다. 특히 전동기의 최대 동작속도가 배터리 전압에 의해 결정되므로, 고속 운전영역 확보를 위해 전압제한을 고려한 전기설계가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 정격속도 대비 최대속도의 비가 1:4로서 넓은 약계자 영역이 요구되는 온라인 전기버스용 전동기에 대해 개념설계를 진행하여 Active Part의 치수를 산출하고, 고정자 권선의 턴수 및 회전자 형상 변화에 따른 전압 및 출력특성을 비교 분석하여, 온라인 전기버스용 전동기에 요구되는 약계자 제어특성을 만족하도록 설계안을 도출하였다. 또한 전동기의 고속 동작시 주 손실인 철손에 의한 온도상승을 고려하여 영구자석의 감자안정성을 분석하였으며, 전자장 FEM 해석을 적용하여 설계결과의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The risk of underground space become an important issue of life safety thought the Taeku subway line Accident. It is essential to study of smoke control screen to minimize the damage of human life because of smoke passage and passenger evacuation routes are on the same vertical and dispersion movement. The Fire modeling result shows the effect of fire control screen can save the evacuation time about 2-2.5 times compare to existing the system However, The designs of fire control screen need to be complied with smoke control ventilation system to present optimum design and the position of installation.

  • Fitness center which was first introduced through hotel fitness has been disseminated into country over the years and these days it becomes a public sports facility that is available even in a small city. Fitness center usually requires a space more than 500 pyeong and even in a small fitness facility at least 200-300 pyung is in need. Also, complex structure including a space for preparing exercise and other subsidiary facility is necessary as well as various service areas to perform various exercise programs. In case of domestic fitness centers, however, proper standard and data required to compute the scale of each service area is not available due to the short of piling data. Therefore computing each space totally depends on an instinct decision of a designer or client, which may cause the fail of effective use of space. This paper aims to calculate appropriate use of space, that is, the over all space, equipment size, and movement line of each area as well as preference and frequence of use among areas is estimated in order to apply those data when computing appropriate estimation of scale.

The 3 Dimensional Triangulation Scheme based on the Space Segmentation in WPAN

  • Most of ubiquitous computing devices such as stereo camera, ultrasonic sensor based MIT cricket system and other wireless sensor network devices are widely applied to the 2 Dimensional(2D) localization system in today. Because stereo camera cannot estimate the optimal location between moving node and beacon node in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN) under Non Line Of Sight(NLOS) environment, it is a great weakness point to the design of the 2D localization system in indoor environment. But the conventional 2D triangulation scheme that is adapted to the MIT cricket system cannot estimate the 3 Dimensional(3D) coordinate values for estimation of the optimal location of the moving node generally. Therefore, the 3D triangulation scheme based on the space segmentation in WPAN is suggested in this paper. The measuring data in the suggested scheme by computer simulation is compared with that of the geographic measuring data in the AutoCAD software system. The average error of coordinates values(x,y,z) of the moving node is calculated to 0.008m by the suggested scheme. From the results, it can be seen that the location correctness of the suggested scheme is very excellent for using the localization system in WPAN.

  • As the industrial development in Korea, the power demand is rapidly increased. The power system has been extended and complicated to meet the power demand. However, the fault current increases because the structure of power system reduces the equivalent impedance. One of the solutions to reduce the fault current is Superconducting Fault Current Limiter(SFCL) and the researches of SFCL application have much conducted. In this paper, we used the Circuit Breker Burden Index(CBBI) to select application location of SFCL because the CBBI may consider a fault current of each line. In addition, this paper divided the weight factor used to calculate the CBBI on a case by case basis and analyzed this characteristics through experiment.

Orbit Determination of KOMPSAT-1 and Cryosat-2 Satellites Using Optical Wide-field Patrol Network (OWL-Net) Data with Batch Least Squares Filter

  • The optical wide-field patrol network (OWL-Net) is a Korean optical surveillance system that tracks and monitors domestic satellites. In this study, a batch least squares algorithm was developed for optical measurements and verified by Monte Carlo simulation and covariance analysis. Potential error sources of OWL-Net, such as noise, bias, and clock errors, were analyzed. There is a linear relation between the estimation accuracy and the noise level, and the accuracy significantly depends on the declination bias. In addition, the time-tagging error significantly degrades the observation accuracy, while the time-synchronization offset corresponds to the orbital motion. The Cartesian state vector and measurement bias were determined using the OWL-Net tracking data of the KOMPSAT-1 and Cryosat-2 satellites. The comparison with known orbital information based on two-line elements (TLE) and the consolidated prediction format (CPF) shows that the orbit determination accuracy is similar to that of TLE. Furthermore, the precision and accuracy of OWL-Net observation data were determined to be tens of arcsec and sub-degree level, respectively.

Effects of Wire speed Fluctuation on Arc Stability in GMA Welding (GMAW에서 와이어 송급속도의 변동이 아크안정성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Weld quality of GMA welding processes is closely related to arc stability. Although many researches on arc stability have been performed, real-time estimation of arc stability has not been attempted. For instance, Mita proposed a off-line statistical method in which short circuiting and arcing time, and voltage and current wave forms were sampled to assess arc stability. But this method is not suitable to assess arc stability for GMA welder which employ inverter power source due to its controlled current and voltage wave forms. In this paper, the relationship between are stability and wire feed rate fluctuation is analyzed to propose new criterion for inverter power source. When arc voltage and arc current and arcing time are analyzed, we can assess arc stability only for short circuit transfer mode. When wire feed rate is analyzed, we can estimate arc stability udner the condition of spray transfer mode as well. Hence, the wire feed rate is chosen for monitoring process variable to cover possible metal transfer modes in GMAW. Through this research, it has been identified that arc stability in GMA welding processes is closely related to wire fed rate. When inverter power source is used, conventional statistical method of estimating arc stability, such as Mita index, is no longer valid due to its controlled voltage and current wave forms. Arc stability has been also examined in phase plane diagram.

Design, Control and Localization of Underwater Mine Disposal Robots (수중 기뢰 제거 로봇의 설계, 제어 및 위치 추정)

  • This paper describes the design, control, and localization which comprise major aspects of the development of underwater robots for the mine disposal. The developed robots are called the Mine Killer (MK-1) and MK-2. MK-1 had been developed from September 2009 and was presented at the 9-th International Symposium at NPS Monterey CA, on May 17-21, 2010[1]. The paper presents design of MK-1 and MK-2 in detail with comparison of these two versions of MKs. Then it derives hydrodynamic coefficients of MK-1. Based on the coefficients, the motion of MK-1 is simulated for straight line motion and circular motion. Also simulation results for PD control, LQ control and sliding mode control are presented. Finally, it shows a particle filter method for localization of MK-1 and MK-2 using simple range data from acoustic beacons.

  • A recursive parameter estimation scheme utilizing the variance perturbation method is applied to the workpiece deflection model during CNC turning process, in order to improve the cylindricity of slender workpiece. It features that it is based on exponentially weighted recursive least squares method with post-process measurement of finish surfaces at two locations and it does not require a priori knowledge on the time varying deflection model parameter. The measurements of finish surfaces by using two proximity sensors mounted face to face enable one to identify the straightness, guide-way, run-out eccentricity errors. Preliminary cutting tests show that the straightness error of the finish surface due to workpiece deflection during cutting is most dominant. Identifying the errors and recursive updating the parameter, the off-line control is carried out to compensate the workpiece deflection error, through single pass cutting. Experimental results show that the proposed method is superior to the conventional multi-pass cutting and the direct compensation control in cutting accuracy and efficiency.
