Remote Sensing of Wave Trajectory in Surf Zone using Oblique Digital Videos (해안 디지털 비디오를 이용한 쇄파지역에서의 파랑궤적 측정)

  • A remote sensing technique to identify trajectories of breaking waves in the surf zone using oblique digital nearshore videos is proposed. The noise arising from white foam induced by wave breaking has hindered accurate remote sensing of wave properties in the surf zone. For this reason, this paper focuses on image processing to remove the noise and wave trajectory identification essential for wave property estimation. The nearshore video imagery sampled at 3 Hz are used, covering length scale(100 m). Original image sequences are processed through image frame differencing and directional low-pass image filtering to remove the noise characterized by high frequencies in the video imagery. The extraction of individual wave crest features is conducted using a Radon transform-based line detection algorithm in the processed cross-shore image timestacks having a two-dimensional space-time domain. The number of valid wave crest trajectories identified corresponds to about 2/3 of waves recorded by the in-situ sensors.

  • Rapid developments in wireless sensor networks have extended many applications, hence, many studies have developed wireless sensor network positioning systems for indoor environments. Among those systems, the Global Position System (GPS) is unsuitable for indoor environments due to Line-Of-Sight (LOS) limitations, while the wireless sensor network is more suitable, given its advantages of low cost, easy installation, and low energy consumption. Due to the complex settings of indoor environments and the high demands for precision, the implementation of an indoor positioning system is difficult to construct. This study adopts a low-cost positioning method that does not require additional hardware, and uses the received signal strength (RSS) values from the receiver node to estimate the distance between the test objects. Since many objects in indoor environments would attenuate the radio signals and cause errors in estimation distances, knowing the path loss exponent (PLE) in an environment is crucial. However, most studies preset a fixed PLE, and then substitute it into a radio propagation loss model to estimate the distance between the test points; such method would lead to serious errors. To address this problem, this study proposes a Path Loss Exponent Estimation Algorithm, which uses only four beacon nodes to construct a radio propagation loss model for an indoor environment, and is able to provide enhanced positioning precision, accurate positioning services, low cost, and high efficiency.

Development of On-line Sorting System for Detection of Infected Seed Potatoes Using Visible Near-Infrared Transmittance Spectral Technique (가시광 및 근적외선 투과분광법을 이용한 감염 씨감자 온라인 선별시스템 개발)

  • In this study, an online seed potato sorting system using a visible and near infrared (40 1100 nm) transmittance spectral technique and statistical model was evaluated for the nondestructive determination of infected and sound seed potatoes. Seed potatoes that had been artificially infected with Pectobacterium atrosepticum, which is known to cause a soil borne disease infection, were prepared for the experiments. After acquiring transmittance spectra from sound and infected seed potatoes, a determination algorithm for detecting infected seed potatoes was developed using the partial least square discriminant analysis method. The coefficient of determination($R^2_p$) of the prediction model was 0.943, and the classification accuracy was above 99% (n = 80) for discriminating diseased seed potatoes from sound ones. This online sorting system has good potential for developing a technique to detect agricultural products that are infected and contaminated by pathogens.

Development of Automatic Sorting System for Green pepper Using Machine Vision (기계시각에 의한 풋고추 자동 선별시스템 개발)

  • Production of green pepper has been increased due to customer's preference and a projected ten-year boom in the industry in Korea. This study was carried out to develop an automatic grading and sorting system for green pepper using machine vision. The system consisted of a feeding mechanism, segregation section, an image inspection chamber, image processing section, system control section, grading section, and discharging section. Green peppers were separated and transported using a bowl feeder with a vibrator and a belt conveyor, respectively. Images were taken using color CCD cameras and a color frame grabber. An on-line grading algorithm was developed using Visual C/C++. The green peppers could be graded into four classes by activating air nozzles located at the discharging section. Length and curvature of each green pepper were measured while removing a stem of it. The first derivative of thickness profile was used to remove a stem area of segmented image of the pepper. While pepper is moving at 0.45 m/s, the accuracy of grading sorting for large, medium and small pepper are 86.0%, 81.3% and 90.6% respectively. Sorting performance was 121 kg/hour, and about five times better than manual sorting. The developed system was also economically feasible to grade and sort green peppers showing the cost about 40% lower than that of manual operations.

Autonomous-guided orchard sprayer using overhead guidance rail (요버헤드 가이던스 레일 추종 방식에 의한 과수방제기의 무인 주행)

  • Since the application of chemicals in confined spaces under the canopy of an orchard is hazardous work, it is needed to develop an autonomous guidance system for an orchard sprayer. The autonomous guidance system developed in this research could steer the vehicle by tracking an overhead guidance rail, which was installed on an existing frame structure. The autonomous guidance system consisted of an 80196 kc microprocessor, an inclinometer, two interface circuits of actuators for steering and ground speed control, and a fuzzy control algorithm. In addition, overhead guidance rails for both straight and curved paths were devised, and a trolley was designed to move smoothly along the overhead guidance rails. Evaluation tests showed that the experimental vehicle could travel along the desired path at a ground speed of 30 $\sim$ 50 cm/s with a RMS error of 5 cm and maximum deviation of less than 12 cm. Even when the vehicle started with an initial offset or a deflected heading angle, it could move quickly to track the desired path after traveling 2 $\sim$ 3 m. The vehicle could also complete turns with a curvature of 1 m. However, at a ground speed of 50 cm/s, the vehicle tended to over-steer, resulting in a zigzag motion along the straight path, and tended to turn outward from the projected line of the guidance rail.

  • Recently most of functional synthesis methods for quantum circuit realization have a tendency to adopt the declarative functional expression more suitable for computer algorithms, so it's difficult to analysis synthesized quantum functions. This paper presents a new functional representation of quantum circuits compatible with simple architecture and intuitive thinking. The proposal of this paper is a new functional synthesis development by using the control functions as the power of corresponding to affine-controlled quantum gates based on the mathematical substitution of serial-product matrix operation over the target line for the arithmetic and modulo-2 ones between power functions of unitary operators. The functional synthesis algorithm proposed in this paper is useful for the functional expressions and synthesis using both of reversible and irreversible affine-controlled NCV-quantum gates.

  • This paper proposes three methods of the time synchronization for Pseudolite and GPS and analyzes pseudolite time synchronization error factors for software based performance evaluation on proposed time synchronization methods. Proposed three time synchronization methods are pseudolite time synchronization station construction method, method by using UTC(KRIS) clock source and GPS timing receiver based time synchronization method. Also, we analyze pseudolite time synchronization error factors such as errors of pseudolite clock and reference clock, time delay as clock transmission line, measurement error of time interval counter and error as clock synchronization algorithm to design simulation platform for performance evaluation of pseudolite time synchronization.

  • In this paper presents Robust k-means clustering-based high-speed bar code decoding method to blur and lighting. for fast operation speed and robust decoding to blur, proposed method uses adaptive local threshold binarization methods that calculate threshold value by dividing blur region and a non-blurred region. Also, in order to prevent decoding fail from the noise, decoder based on k-means clustering algorithm is implemented using area data summed pixel width line of the same number of element. Results of simulation using samples taken at various worst case environment, the average success rate of proposed method is 98.47%. it showed the highest decoding success rate among the three comparison programs.

  • In this paper, the full color LED billboard or a general quality improvement methods of quality gamma correction, brightness, and brightness adjustment, etc., regardless of the overall color of images uniformly bright or dark have been taken care of. The video itself, but simply expressed as a uniform brightness of a certain size, how to adjust the brightness of input video signal does not reflect the characteristics of the entire screen with just a lighter or darker line is only feeling was brought. So, unlike conventional video transmission system with new LED display technology in the histogram analysis of image data is input by the input image data by determining the luminance values of the attributes are reflected, as appropriate based on the histogram of the distribution of brightness values By controlling the LED display is expressed in the uniform image can improve the brightness control, histogram distribution of the image as full color billboards driven processing technology is proposed.

A One-Pass Aggregation Algorithm using the Disjoint-Inclusive Partition Multidimensional Files in Multidimensional OLAP (다차원 온라인 분석처리에서 분리-포함 분할 다차원 파일 구조를 사용한 원-패스 집계 알고리즘)

  • 다차원 온라인 분석처리(Multidimensional On-Line Analytical Processing: MOLAP)에서 집계 연산은 중요한 기본 연산이다. 기존의 MOLAP 집계 연산은 다차원 배열 구조를 기반으로 한 파일 구조에 대해서 연구되어 왔다. 이러한 파일 구조는 편중된 분포를 갖는 데이터에서는 잘 동작하지 못한다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 편중된 분포에도 잘 동작하는 다차원 파일구조를 사용한 집계 알고리즘을 제안한다. 먼저, 새로운 분리-포함 분할이라는 개념을 사용한 집계 연산 처리 모델을 제안한다. 집계 연산 처리에서 분리-포함 분할 개념을 사용하면 페이지들의 액세스 순서를 미리 알아 낼 수 있다는 특징을 가진다. 그리고, 제안한 모델에 기반하여 원-패스 버퍼 크기(one-pass buffer size)를 사용하여 집계 연산을 처리하는 원-패스 집계 알고리즘을 제안한다. 원-패스 버퍼 크기란 페이지 당 한 번의 디스크 액세스를 보장하기 위해 필요한 최소 버퍼 크기이다. 또한, 제안한 집계 연산 처리 모델 하에서 제안된 알고리즘이 최소의 원-패스 버퍼 크기를 갖는다는 것을 증명한다. 마지막으로, 많은 실험을 통하여 이론적으로 구한 원-패스 버퍼 크기가 실제 환경에서 정확히 동작함을 실험적으로 확인하였다. 리 알고리즘은 미리 알려진 페이지 액세스 순서를 이용하는 버퍼 교체 정책을 사용함으로써 최적의 원-패스 버퍼 크기를 달성한다. 제안하는 알고리즘을 여 러 집계 질의가 동시에 요청되는 다사용자 환경에서 특히 유용하다. 이는 이 알고리즘이 정규화 된 디스크 액세스 횟수를 1.0으로 유지하기 위해 반드시 필요한 크기의 버퍼만을 사용하기 때문이다.
