  • The service quality with the various building equipments tends to depend on the individual superintendent's capability and efforts generally and this often lead to poor maintenances and managements of them. N-BMS(Networked Building Management System), proposed in this study, is a new type of building management method, which links principal equipments within many buildings into a communication network and carries out several significant missions such as fault detection, deterioration diagnosis and control the equipments and so on, as well as monitoring which is the main and unique purpose of the conventional BMS. How to construct the N-BMS was considered to keep performance of equipments high and thus to save energy and resource. LCC(Life Cycle Cost) based analysis was also performed in order to verify the effects of some maintenance and management works for the building HVAC systems.

  • Recently as the manufacturers want competitiveness in dynamically changing environment, they are trying a lot of efforts to be efficient with their production systems, which may be achieved by diminishing unplanned operation stops. The operation stops and maintenance cost are known to be significantly decreased by adopting proper maintenance strategy. Therefore, the manufacturers were more getting interested in scheduling of exact maintenance scheduling to keep smooth operation and prevent unexpected stops. In this paper, we proposedan integrated maintenance approach in injection molding manufacturing line. It consists of predictive and preventive maintenance approach. The predictive maintenance uses the statistical process control technique with the real-time data and the preventive maintenance is based on the checking period of machine components or equipment. For the predictive maintenance approach, firstly, we identified components or equipment that are required maintenance, and then machine parameters that are related with the identified components or equipment. Second, we performed regression analysis to select the machine parameters that affect the quality of the manufactured products and are significant to the quality of the products. By this analysis, we can exclude the insignificant parameters from monitoring parameters and focus on the significant parameters. Third, we developed the statistical prediction models for the selected machine parameters. Current models include regression, exponential smoothing and so on. We used these models to decide abnormal patternand to schedule maintenance. Finally, for other components or equipment which is not covered by predictive approach, we adoptedpreventive maintenance approach. To show feasibility we developed an integrated maintenance support system in LabView Watchdog Agent and SQL Server environment and validated our proposed methodology with experimental data.

  • This paper describes th on-line maintenance system with integrated graphic environment for building electrical equipments. This system is based on the pre-defined troubleshoot knowledgebase with maintenance information. And this system utilizes the database and knowledgebase for the diagnosis of facility and runs on the operator's requirement and response. The operator is possible of a detailed observation, an early detection of abnormal state, a properly operation and a rapidly arrangement of electrical equipments. Especially, this system is developed using the maintenance of equipments, if needed, be operated by non-expertise.

  • The rail, which supports the train road, distributes the wheel loads to the tie by rail stiffness. Subway sleeper on concrete ballast is construction of PC or RC sleeper. The present, PC sleeper is constructed of line 1, 2, 3, 4 Seoul Subway and RC sleeper is planing construction for the STEDEF system on concrete ballast of the line 5, Seoul, Taegu, and Kwangju Subway. The major purpose of this study is to check influence of the angle with analysising the behavior of sleeper according to the existent or non-existent of angle. And the study is carried to check static analysis by manufacture of same model.

  • This study deals with the procedure of safety improvement, productivity increase ,and tact-time reduction through setting up the system about preventive maintenance. Actually, it is hard to establish and carry out preventive maintenance, even though we recognize the importance of the system concerning time, cost, labor, and so forth. In this study in the viewpoint of cost we are for achieving maximum efficiency by change and reduction of planning process adapted to the special work group. At first we briefly will mention the kind ,the necessity ,and the concept of preventive maintenance ,and then divide the equipment used in the assembly line into the two whether it is necessary or not by way of estimating the breakdown loss ,comparing with general establishment of preventive maintenance and modifying it to the case. At the second step we will establish the operation system of plan management related to production and quality in the special case. Check period and category will be set by dividing the assembly equipment into LCL and Focus in the third step. The forth step will contain the operation procedure in detail. And then we must make check and repair record periodically. Finally, on the basis of the record the selection of checking of significance will be conducted. This results in safety improvement, tact time reduction, and productivity improvement.

  • From the moment that electricity is applied to a relay, a wheel turned, or a valve opened, the process leading to the need for maintenance begins, The uninitiated will tell you that the Maintenance man is someone who repairs something when it has gone wrong. Unfortunately, in any large engineering concern, such as a railway, it is not possible to work on the principle that only when something breaks down should it get any attention. The failure of one contact, diode or bearing could well stop not only the assembly of which it is a part, but the flow line or process, with loss of revenue, and clientele, and often with effects on the safety of both staff and the traveling public. So, we have to establish the reliable and cost-effective maintenance system to resolve these problems.

  • This paper is concerned with the reliability centered maintenance (RCM) of the Automated Guideway Transit (AGT) vehicle system. Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI) has developed the AGT vehicle system from 1999 to 2004. The provisions for a specific maintenance system including RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability & safety) of AGT vehicle system is necessary for maintaining good operation conditions. RCM is a process used to determine what must be done to ensure that any system continues to do whatever its users want it to do in its present operating conditions. Therefore, we introduce RCM in details and describe how RCM should be applied to AGT vehicle system on Gyeong-San test line. Analyses to approach RCM to AGT vehicle system are demonstrated in the seven steps that contain each main task and detailed operating conditions.

A Risk Evaluation Model of Power Distribution Line Using Bayesian Rule -Overhead Distribution System- (베이즈 규칙을 활용한 배전선로 위험도 평가모델 -가공배전분야-)

  • After introducing diagnosis equipment power failure prevention activities for distribution system have become more active. To do facility diagnosis and maintenance work more efficiently we need to evaluate reliability for the system and should determine the priority line with appropriate criteria. Thus, to calculate risk factor for the power distribution line that are composed of many component facilities its historical failure events for the last 5 years are collected and analysed. The failure statics show that more than 60% of various failures are related to environment factors randomly and about 20% of the failures are refer to the aging. As a strategic evaluation system reflecting these environmental influence is needed, a system on the basis of the probabilistic approach related statical variables in terms of failure rate and failure probability of electrical components is proposed. The figures for the evaluation are derived from the field failure DB. With adopting Bayesian rule we can calculate easily about conditional probability query. The proposed evaluation system is demonstrated with model system and the calculated indices representing the properties of the model line are discussed.

  • Floating sleepers in a ballasted track increase both track deterioration and track irregularities. Consequently, a considerable maintenance work is required and maintenance cycle is shortened due to the floating sleepers. This paper quantifies the degrees of void between the floating sleepers and a ballast bed. In the future, the influence of floating sleepers on the track will be investigated by an analytical method using a dynamic model.
