Objective : This is a clinical report about the 77-years-old man patient with polymyositis treated by oriental medicine. Methods : The patient was treated by acupuncture and herb medication. The improvement of the patient was judged by MRC scale and CPK, LDH. Results & Conclusions : 1. Patient's symptoms(paraplegia) rapidly improved. 2. The level of CPK, LDH and Potassium are recovered to the normal range. 3. Associated with respiratory symptoms are getting better.

Hepatic metastasis of early gastric cancer (EGC) following subtotal gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy is rare. We report the case of a 61-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with EGC that was initially treated using endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and subsequently underwent laparoscopic subtotal gastrectomy. Histopathological examination of the patient's ESD specimen showed a moderately differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma invading the submucosa without lymphatic invasion. The deep margin of the specimen was positive for adenocarcinoma, and he subsequently underwent laparoscopic distal gastrectomy. The patient developed liver metastasis 15 months after the operation and then underwent liver resection. Histology of the resected specimen confirmed the diagnosis of two foci of metastatic adenocarcinoma originating from stomach cancer. Immunohistochemical analysis of the specimen demonstrated overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. The patient was treated with trastuzumab in combination with chemotherapy consisting of capecitabine and cisplatin. Twenty-four months after the operation, the patient remained free of recurrence.

The patient in this case, 38 years-old female was adimitted for 8 days(2001. 7. 16 ${\sim}$ 2001. 7. 23). Her chief complain was lumbago, shoulder pain, headache, palpitation, general body weakness, insomnia, whole body heating and dyspnea. we diagnosed this patient as hyperthyroidism with originated from yinhuhwawang(陰虛火旺) and bigihu(脾氣虛). we treated this hyperthroidism patient with herbal medicine(Chonglijagamtang-gamibang(淸離滋坎湯加味方), bojungikgitang-gamibang(補中益氣湯加味方)), Acupunture, Moxa, etc. after oriental treatment during 8 days, pain(shoulder pain, headache, lumbago, whole body pain) was decreased and the symptoms were all diminished. in the days to come, we need to study further study about the superiority of Oriental Medicine healing a hyperthyroidism patient.

We experienced a rare case of erection failure which developed after unilateral lumbar sympathetic block. A 43 year old male patient suffering from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, which had developed after multiple communitted fracture of the right ankle, underwent right lumbar sympathetic block with 99.9% alcohol. The effectiveness of the lumbar sympathetic block was evaluated by monitoring the clinical symptoms, signs and temperature changes by digital infrared thermographic imaging. Postoperatively, the temperature of the affected side limb rose about $2^{\circ}C$, but the patient's conditions gradually returned to normal. Ten days after the operation the patient complainted of difficulty in achieving an erection. The patient was examined by a urologst without much results. The patient gradually recovered his ability to achieve an erection approximately 5 weeks after the lumbar sympathetic block.

A 26 year old male patient had admitted to the department of plastic surgery for the treatment of skin defect of forearm and spastic contracture of right hand, attributable to burn injury following carbon monoxide intoxication. After receiving skin graft the patients tenotomy of flexor tendons, the patients was consulted to pain clinic for further evaluation and treatment of allodynia, hyperalgesia, and hyperpathia with marked emotional insufficiency. The patient was treated with stellate ganglion blocks, intermittent or continuous epidural blocks, and intermittent brachial plexus blocks for 3 months. with this treatment the patient's pain level improved to(VAS 10 to 4~5) and was discharged. The patient was readmitted 3 months later, due to the aggrzvation of pain. Brachial plexus blocks were given again by interscalene, supraclavicular, or axillary route, sometimes using a catheter, together with cervical epidural blocks. Tricyclic antidepressant was also prescribed. The results were remarkably good(VAS 2~3) and the patient did not require any further analgesic medication.

Objectives : This is a clinical report about the 47-year-old female patient with Trigeminal Neuralgia(TN) treated by oriental medicine treatment including Bee Venom Pharmacopuncture therapy(BVP), without any western medical treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by acupuncture, herb medication, and BVP. The improvement of the patient was judged by Visual Analog Scale(VAS). Results : The pain was gradually reduced and VAS became 0 after 8 days of treatment. Since then the pain didn't reappeared for 6 months. Conclusions : Oriental medicine treatment including BVP was very effective to improve the TN patient's symptoms. It is necessary to have more observation and many cases of patients with TN.

Objectives: The present study reports case of an elderly kwashiorkor patient who was treated with Korean Medicine. Methods: A 68-year-old female patient with weight loss, general weakness, chills, anorexia, and dizziness after over 100 episodes of diarrhea visited the hospital. Blood tests showed hypoalbuminemia and anemia, and ultrasonography revealed fatty liver disease. The patient was diagnosed with kwashiorkor, and her symptom differentiation was Yang deficiency followed by Both Qi-Blood deficiency. Sayeok-Tang, Soshiho-Tang, Insamyangyeong-Tang, and Gongjin-Dan, herbal drugs, were given to the patient during 40 days of hospitalization. Results: After 40 days of hospitalization, her symptoms were reduced, and the blood test results improved. Conclusion: This case presents the therapeutic potential of Korean medicine in the treatment of kwashiorkor.

We report a case of a healthy 38-year-old man presenting with insufficiency fracture of proximal tibia associated with unrecognized osteoporosis. Radiologic bone DEXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) assessment revealed osteoporosis, but the patient displayed no apparent risk factors for insufficiency fractures and osteoporosis except for a history of smoking. Following right proximal tibial open reduction and internal fixation, the patient commenced smoking cessation and began taking alendronate. The patient was treated for gait rehabilitation, which included quadriceps strengthening exercises and his condition improved with independent walking. This report highlights an unusual site of proximal tibial insufficiency fractures and the potential effect of smoking on low bone mineral density in a young male patient.

Objective: Malunion of distal radial fracture can result in pain, stiffness, and decreased function of the affected limb. Occupational therapy intervention can improve outcomes in these patients, but there is limited research on the effectiveness of such interventions. Case Description: This case report describes the occupational therapy intervention and outcomes for a 44-year-old female patient with malunion of left distal radial fracture. The patient received 8 weeks of occupational therapy intervention consisting of therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and fine motor activities. The patient demonstrated significant improvements in range of motion, grip strength, and activities of daily living (ADL) in her left hand. The patient also reported less pain and greater ease in performing activities of daily living. Conclusion: Occupational therapy intervention can be effective in improving outcomes for patients with malunion of distal radial fracture. This case report highlights the importance of early intervention and interdisciplinary collaboration among healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Further research is needed to explore the effectiveness of occupational therapy interventions for patients with malunion of distal radial fracture.

Objectives : To report the R/O CRPS patient after Korean medicine treatment, suffering severe buring pain and insomnia. Methods : The patient was a 56-year-old female patient and treated with herbal medicines and acupuncture in 32 days. The treatment effect was evaluated by measuring VNRS of pain, sleeping time and change in mood status. Results : The Korean Medical therapy had good effect on the patient. Especially, relaxing mental treatment is effective in improving and maintaining symptoms. Conclusions : The Korean medical treatments appeared to be effective in reducing R/O CRPS symptoms. Further clinical research of patients with CRPS is needed.
