전력케이블의 열화현상

  • 1968년에 최초로 선진공업국가에서 케이블 열화에 의한 지중 Power Cable의 사고가 발생된 후, utility company는 여러 연구기관과 협력하여 지중배전용 케이블을 수거하여, 케이블의 열화가 계통사고의 원인이 된다는 것을 입증하였다. 또한 고전압 전력계통에 설치된 기존의 OF케이블(oil filled power cable)은 점차로 절연층이 매우 두꺼운 polymer insulated extruded power cable로 대체되어 가는 것이 세계적인 추세이다. 국내에서도 이러한 extruded power cable의 매설이 증가되고 있어, 이에 의한 사고가 발생될 수 있는 potential이 커지고 있기 때문에 우선 전력케이블이 어떠한 이유로 열화되고 어떠한 형태로 나타나는가에 대해 많은 해외연구기관의 연구들을 토대로 간단히 살펴보기로 한다. 열화진단시험방법이나 열화원인분석을 위한 물리화학적 mechanism에 대해서는 다음 기회에 언급하기로 한다.

  • The underground transmission system has been internationally developing the voltage class of which increase to realizing high reliability and efficiency. Under this situation, if a company don't do much labor to elevating one's technology, the company will be hard to compete against other companies in trade. Our company has successfully developed 275kV oil-filled cable and its accessory in 1999 for Malaysia project, which was based on accumulated technological know-how, which is the highest voltage level among awarded oversea underground transmission networks in Korea. The power cable and its accessories were subjected to type approval test in accordance with IEC 60141-1 and TNB tender documents. This paper describes the main features of the type approval tests of the cable and its accessories.

  • Joints and terminations for 345kV Oil Filled $1C{\times}2000mm^2$ cable have been developed and tested including BPT (Bellows Pressure Tank) on the bases of various ultra-high voltage technologies. Electrical design was performed by using Finite Element Method. The type test certified by KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) has been performed as the final stage of development. In order to confirm the reliability of long-term life for 30 years, load cycle test was conducted for 30 days with good result. As the result, the techniques we obtained from this development are applicable to higher voltage level systems (i.e. 765 kV).

  • Globally, movements for an environmental preservation have been further extended in all the areas of industries. In the manufacturing area. environment-friendly properties for all the manufactured products are increasingly required by many national standards. For EHV oil-filled cables. Hard Alkylbenzen has been applied as an impregnated insulating oil. But as it flows into the soil during failures, such as oil leakage, the oil is not dissolved by microbes and then causes an environmental pollution. Recently some countries are increasingly requiring Soft Alkylbenzen which is dissolved by microbes. This paper describes the electrical and environmental properties of Soft Alkylbenzen. applied for a 230kV oil-filled cables at a Singapore's project.

  • KEPCO has experienced eight oil leakage failures due to POF cable corrosion in the 154KV underground POF cable transmission line since the line was operated in 1976. Experimentally, We have verified that the cause of the failure is electrolytic corrosion of the cable owing to subway leakage current. For the countermeasure, We adopted the total Cathodic Protection System by the use of Victim Anode, Forced Drainage Method and Impressed Current Method with polarization cell.

  • In order to investigate the dielectric characteristic insulating oil is chosen insulating oil for electric cable, and experiment is performed in the temperature range of 30∼120[$^{\circ}C$] and frequency range of 30∼1${\times}$10$\^$6/[㎐]. As a result, the observed linear decrease in tan $\delta$ value at the low frequency range is due to the influence of frequency, whereas the increase in tan $\delta$ value at high frequency range is contributed by the electrode's resistance and dielectric loss. The dipole moment and activation energy of specimen are obtained 1.22(debye) and 12.75∼18.66[㎉/㏖e] of high temperature region, 15.68 ∼ 20.6[㎉/㏖e] of low temperature region respectively.

  • This paper reviews the energy characteristics of oil filled cables in transient state such as grounding fault and lightning surge. Artificial grounding fault test was firstly performed in 2003 for the analysis of arc voltage and breakdown energy according to the fault current. In this paper, energy of OF cable is variously analysed at joint box based on the actual test. Then more various conditions such as installation types, section lengths and CCPU(Cable Covering Protection Unit) connection types are applied for the simulation using EMTP when the single line to ground fault and direct lightning stroke are occurred on actual underground power cable systems and combined power cable systems, respectively. Finally, the energy by the length of crossbonded lead and grounding lead as well as fault lasting time is also calculated using EMTP simulation.

  • 반합성지 절연 전력케이블 시스템은 유전체 손실을 줄이고 절연두께 저감할 수 있으며 경제성면에서도 유리하다는 장점 때문에 많은 사용검토가 이루어져 왔다. 본 논문은 최근 LS전선이 국내 최초로 개발한 400kV급 초고압 반합성지 전력케이블의 반합성지 설계, 케이블 및 접속함 개발, 그리고 인증 Type Test 및 장시간 실증시험등 주요 개발과정을 기술하였다. OF 전력케이블의 오랜 경험과 다양한 연구결과를 바탕으로 반합성지 전력케이블 시스템을 단기 내에 개발하여 전력 케이블 및 접속함에 대하여 국제공인기관인 KEMA로부터 IEC 60141-1에 따른 인증서를 획득하였고, 장시간 실증시험에 성공적으로 완료함으로써 반합성지 절연 전력케이블 시스템 전체의 신뢰성을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we describes the research in condenser cone of $SF_6$ gas sealing end for 345KV oil-filled cable. The designed of condenser cone based on the results electric field analysis by electrostatics theory ana FEM. As a results. we have been designed the condenser cone and the inner insulation part of $SF_6$ seating end, the width and length, the number of condenser, the length of stress relief slope, the total length of condenser cone.
