A Study on the Future Maintenance of Educational Facilities According to the Evaluation of Safety Inspection (교육시설물의 안전점검 평가에 따른 향후 유지관리에 관한 연구)

  • According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's 2018 Education Statistics, there are 4,692 schools in Korea, and most of them were built before 1985 and the aging of facilities due to earthquake and external environment has reached a serious point and are vulnerable to safety. The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education designated 2,561 buildings with floor space of 1,000 square meters or more under the "Special Act on Safety and Maintenance of Facilities (2018.1.18. Full Revision)" and conducted regular safety inspections. The purpose of this study is to analyze the evaluation of school facilities according to the results of a regular safety inspection and to propose a maintenance plan for educational facilities for future defects according to the conditions of the facilities.

Nutrition Teachers and Dietitians' Use and Perception of Information on School Foodservice Management in Daegu, Gyeongbuk Area (대구.경북 지역 영양(교)사의 학교급식 운영 관련 정보에 대한 인식 및 이용 현황)

  • This study attempted to investigate use of information for school foodservice management and perception of informations offered on Office of Education homepages according to Daegu and Gyeongbuk nutrition teachers and dietitians. The most frequently used web site information source and information type were 'charged foodservice information sites'(63.5%) and 'information on nutrition or menus'(63.5%), respectively. Subjects belonging to schools that served more meals per day tended to use informations more frequently. Information on 'management of the foodservice production process' showed a low satisfaction level as compared to importance in all groups, and information on 'nutrition education' showed a similar tendency for subjects belonging to schools that served 1 meals per day. Overall, efforts for development and dissemination of information are required to improve the quality and efficiency of school foodservice.

  • 본 연구에서는 XML 기반의 Digital Format Registry를 고도화하며 국내 실정(750 여개의 기록관)에 맞는 기술정보은행 서비스 제공 모델을 연구하여 적용방안을 수립하고 이에 필요한 요소 기술을 개발하는 것이다. 특히 도 고도화 연구 개발 사업에서는 이러한 표준에 대한 지원을 최우선으로 진행되었다. 특히 업무 환경에 가장 빈번히 사용되는 국제 표준기반의 ODF(Open Document Format)와 OOXML(Office Open XML)이라는 개방형 오피스 문서 형식을 추가 지원하였으며, ISO 28500 WARC라는 웹 기록물 저장 국제 표준 형식에 대한 유효성 검증 기능을 개발 추가하여 웹 기록물에 대한 장기보존 시스템의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있도록 하였다.

The Effect of Occupational Safety and Health Education on Occupational Accidents (산업안전보건교육이 산업재해발생에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to analyze the status of implementation of occupational safety and health education and evaluate the relation between the implementation of education and occupational accidents. Methods: This study used data on occupational safety and health education from the 2012 Current Status of Occupational Safety and Health survey by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. The sample is 7,010 persons working in relation to occupational safety and health in industry. An ANOVA test is used to analyze the status of and need for education. Poisson regression is used to evaluate the relation between education and occupational accidents. Results: The rate of implementation of education is 53.3% for periodic education on workers holding office positions, 68.3% for periodic education for workers not holding office positions, 60.3% for periodic education for persons holding managerial and supervisory positions, 65.5% for education provided upon hiring, 50.5% for education provided upon changes in work activities and 37.2% for special education. In the Poisson regression, these data strongly suggest that the probability of occupational accidents occurring with education implemented is much lower than without the implementation of any kind of safety and health education. Conclusions: It is clear that implementation of education has a positive effect on reducing occupational accidents, although its application in domestic industry is insufficient. Thus, it is concluded that education on occupational safety and health should be strengthened for the prevention of occupational accidents.

Development and Evaluation of Nutrition Education Program for Middle Aged Men at Worksite (중년 남성의 직장내 영양교육 프로그램 개발 및 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop, implement and evaluate a nutrition education program for middle aged men at a worksite. To be read easily, induce interest, and selected at need, seven 6-page leaflet aets were developed, which was the most preferable from chosen by the subjects. The contents of leaflet set were [Changing life style], [Good food habit],[Weight control and diet],[Cardiovascualr disease and diet], [Alimentary disease and diet],[Diaabetes and diet],and [Liver disease and diet]. Nutrition education was provided for 61 middle aged men(30 professors, 31 office workers) at a worksite from 40 mins to one hour. And the level of nutrition knowledge and nutrition attitude were tested to evaluate the effects of the nutrition education program with a developed leaflet set before and after nutrition education. After the nutrition deucation. the nutrition knowledge score had increased significantly at p<0.001, from average 9.3 point to 11.4 point. The level of nutrition knowledge was increased significantly at p<0.001, and the prevalence of misconceptions and the uncertainty of knowledge were decreased significantly at p<0.05. There was a significant difference between professors and office workers both before and after the program. Also, there was a significant increase in the attitude about nutrition score after the program and this means that the subjects were flexibly more open minded about nutrition than before(from 39.9 point, at p<0.001). The difference in the nutrition attitude score between professors and office workers was not significant both before and after the nutrition deucation. The developed leaflet set was evaluated very positively in understanding, interest, timing, and usage by the subjects.

  • The diagnostic evaluation conducted at the national level is very important to detect underachievers in school early. This study used an artificial intelligence method to find the characteristics of underachievers that affect learning development for middle school students. In this study an artificial intelligence model was constructed and analyzed to determine whether the Busan Education Longitudinal Data in 2020 by entering data from the first year of middle school in 2019. A predictive model was developed to predict basic middle school Korean, English, and mathematics education with machine learning algorithms, and it was confirmed that the accuracy was 78%, 82%, and 83%, respectively, in the prediction for the next school year. In addition, by drawing an achievement prediction decision tree for each middle school subject we are analyzing the process of prediction. Finally, we examined what characteristics affect achievement prediction.

A study on the oral-health belief and oral-health care of company employees (직장인들의 구강건강신념과 구강건강관리 행태에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide information on the development of an oral-health promotion program geared toward office workers. The subjects in this study were 240 employees at the headquarters of S construction company. After a survey was conducted in July and August 2008, the answer sheets from 208 respondents were gathered, and 191 answer sheets were analyzed except 17 unanalyzable ones. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. In regard to subjective oral health status, the largest number of the participants that accounted for 37.2% found their mouth to be neither healthy nor unhealthy. The greatest number of them that represented 58.1% had never visited a dentist's office to receive preventive treatment. 2. Regarding relationship between toothbrushing education experience and toothbrushing frequency, the most common toothbrushing frequency was three times a day( 46.5%) among the company employees who had ever received that education. In the event of the office workers without that experience, the most prevalent frequency was three times(63.6%). The toothbrushing frequency was statistically significantly different according to the toothbrushing education experience(p<0.05). As to the relationship of toothbrushing education experience to tooth- brushing method, the largest number(48.2%) of those who had ever received that education brushed their upper and lower teeth along with the gums by rotating the toothbrush downward from the top and upward from the bottom respectively. In the event of the office workers without that experience, 49.4 percent brushed their teeth and gums by rotating the toothbrush up and down. Thus, whether they had ever received education about toothbrushing made a statistically significant difference to their toothbrushing method(p<0.05). 3. As a result of evaluating their oral health belief by utilizing a five-point scale, they got a mean of 2.95. In each area of oral health belief, they got the best marks in benefit(3.66), salience(3.42), barrier(2.84), susceptility(2.58) and seriousness(2.23). Given the above-mentioned finding of the study, two sorts of oral health beliefs, which are benefit and salience, should be stressed in the development of oral health education programs that cater to company employees. And sustained research efforts should be channeled into finding out the relationship between oral health and actual oral health care.

  • Analysis of illicit methamphetamine samples seized in Korea is discussed. The samples are extracted with the small portion of ethyl acetate under neutral conditions and the extracts are analyzed by GC-MS. Several impuritiy peaks are found in each chromatrogram. Eight compunds (1,2-Dimethyl-3-phenylaziridine, amphetamine oxime, ephedrine, N-formylmethamphetamine, N-acetylmethamphetamine, acetylephedrine, 3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-2-oxazolidone, methamphetamine dimer) are identified impurities in illicit methamphetamine and the identity of the impurity is conformed synthesis.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of the most appropriate and effective educational materials for patients and their caregivers through the educational experiences of patient safety officer. Methods: This study is a qualitative analysis that involves using the focus group interview to understand the patient safety education experience of the patient safety officer. Results: The patient safety education experience of the patient safety officer is divided into four topics: (1) patient safety education content (2) patient safety education method (3) patient safety education status (4) activation and improvement of patient safety education. Additionally, the study incorporated twelve subtopics: (a) falls (b) speak up (c) patient safety campaign (d) patient safety rounding and a one on one training (e) education through medical staff (f) education using broadcast, video, post, among others (g) a lot of education in patient (h) patients not interested in patient safety education (i) patient safety education is less effective (j) human and medical expenses support (k) provision of standardized educational materials (l) patient safety culture for patient participation. Conclusions: This study indicate that education for patients and the caregivers should be inclusive and protective of stakeholders from the risks involved in patient safety events. The experience of patient safety officer is necessary for patient safety education for both patients and the caregivers since it is the source of basic data for the future development of patient safety education.

Nature and Possibilities of International Relations and Education (국제교육교류의 성격과 가능성)

  • This article identifies the nature of international relations and education and examines their potential. To achieve this goal, international relations and education can be found in supporting economically deprived regions and contributing to the development of the world based on mutual understanding. Next, the current status of international education exchanges was examined by the Ministry of Education, the National Institute for International Education, and the Gyeongnam Office of Education's International relations and Education Center. The status of international relations and education shown in these three subjects is active in practice, but there was also a limit to theorizing about them and making explanations or predictions. Based on this, the possibility of international education exchanges was discussed by the government or education office, which can bring about educational autonomy, contribute to the growth of the country through support for resource-poor countries, limited development assistance, poor academic development.
