  • Recently the harmonic generation has declined electricity quality and has bad influence on the electrical installation including OA(Office Automation), FA(Factory Automation), IT(Information Telecommuni-cation) devices and so on. The study of harmonics be greatly interested in diagnosis accident with harmonics was not merely guesswork but clarify the cause by experimental data at these days. Therefore, it is necessary development of AC power source for correct experiment with reliable data. In this paper, we realized the AC power source that can produce and compose harmonics for analysis of accident with harmonics.

  • 현재 우리나라의 모든 산업계에서는 컴퓨터시스팀을 도입하여 사무자동화(O.A;Office Automation)와 공장자동화(F.A;Factory Automation)등을 통하여 생력화는 물론 이에 관련된 제반 정보를 축적, 활용하여 경영의사결정에 이용되고 있다. 병원의 경우, 아무리 규모가 작더라도 타산업에 비할 수 없을 정도의 많은 정보가 생산되고 있으며 이렇게 생산된 정보를 사장시키지 않고 축적, 활용하기 위해서는 전산시스팀의 도입이 불가피하다. 그러나 실제로 시스팀 도입하기까지에는 기술적, 행정적으로 많은 문제점이 따르며 따라서 시스팀도입의 성공여부는 그 접근방법에 좌우된다고 할 수 있다. 다음은 1987년 3월호 'Hospital and Heathl Services Revew'지에 실린 영 Hammer smith and Queen Charlotte's SHA*의 사례로서 시스팀의 도입, 운영, 기타사항들을 소개하기로 한다.

  • Nowadays, social environment is rapidly changed toward globalization and information age, and which demands the new paradigm for active utilization of information system in the field of education and many others. The effort to adapt tele-communication technique to educational facilities and the planning to make virtual university come true are needed immediately. Intelligent Building system should be applied to educational facilities to cope with the changing and progressing building system. As a result of the surveying eleven domestic universities, it was found that library management system, administration automation system and office automation system were already introduced, but campus infrastructure such as network system and tele-communication system between buildings in campus have been constructed now. As the conclusion of this study, impeding factors and improvement direction for active utilization of intelligent building systems in university facilities were presented.

  • The most important function in distribution automation system (DAS) is the service restoration. KEPCO's current service restoration provides a very effective restoration service. However, it has been developed without the consideration of unexpected abnormal conditions that may occur while processing the sequence of switching operations. The objective of this paper is to provide practical service restoration schemes under consideration of abnormal conditions. The proposed service restoration schemes have been integrated to a branch office (B/O) in KEPCO. The proposed method strongly supports the conventional service restoration and adds to its value.

  • This paper describes a development of smart power outlet and controller installation which is equipped for discrete power load environment such as office and home appliance. This system will sense a real-time power consumption and analyze the status, then, will keep optimal power use condition. The proposed method is applied to the real design, and that experimental results showed good performances on the wall-outlet, also, is expected to be used in the smart home automation installations.

  • A strong need to improve the quality of electric power is increased because of increasing use of the sensitive and small-sized electronic devices. The transient overvoltages on low-voltage AC power distribution systems are induced by direct or indirect lightning return strokes, and they can cause damage and/or malfunction of the utility systems for home automation, office automation and factory automation as well as medical equipment. The behaviors of lightning overvoltages transferred through the transformer to the low voltage AC power distribution systems were experimentally investigated using a Marx generator. The surge voltages in low-voltage ac power systems are rarely limited by the application of the surge arrester to the primary side of distribution transformer and a custom service ground.

Convolutional Neural Network Based Multi-feature Fusion for Non-rigid 3D Model Retrieval

  • This paper presents a novel convolutional neural network based multi-feature fusion learning method for non-rigid 3D model retrieval, which can investigate the useful discriminative information of the heat kernel signature (HKS) descriptor and the wave kernel signature (WKS) descriptor. At first, we compute the 2D shape distributions of the two kinds of descriptors to represent the 3D model and use them as the input to the networks. Then we construct two convolutional neural networks for the HKS distribution and the WKS distribution separately, and use the multi-feature fusion layer to connect them. The fusion layer not only can exploit more discriminative characteristics of the two descriptors, but also can complement the correlated information between the two kinds of descriptors. Furthermore, to further improve the performance of the description ability, the cross-connected layer is built to combine the low-level features with high-level features. Extensive experiments have validated the effectiveness of the designed multi-feature fusion learning method.

  • Recently, the study on the design of NCS(Network Control System) using Ethernet is being rapidly progressed. NCS can be extensively applied in manufacturing automation, office automation, home automation, remote control and ect. A merit of NCS on based Ethernet is to make good use of advanced Internet environment and to apply a application of abundant TCP/IP upper layer to NCS. The purpose of this paper is to control a speed of DC-motor using NCS on based Ethernet. The control system is divided into a server part and a client part. A server transfers a value of reference speed of a DC-motor. A client receives a output signal of DC-motor and a reference input obtained from the server. A client computes a error of two signals and then makes a control input. The control input is transferred to a actuator In this pater, A controller uses a classical control using a general feedback. In this paper, a viewpoint is to compare performance of NCS with performance of a classical control and to analyze the cause of that.

Distribution of Path Loss for Wireless Personal Networks Operating in a Square Region

  • Path loss plays fundamental roles in system design, spectrum management, and performance evaluation. The traditional path loss model has a slight inconvenience; it depends on the unknown distance. In this letter, we explore the probability distribution function (PDF) of path loss in an indoor office environment by randomizing out the distance variable. It is shown that the resulting PDF is not Gaussian-like but is skewed to the right, and both the PDF and the moments are related to the size of the office instead of the unknown distance. To be specific, we incorporate the IEEE 802.15.4a channel parameters into our model and tabulate the cumulative distribution function with respect to different room sizes. Through a simple example, we show how our model helps a cognitive spectrum user to infer path loss information of primary users without necessarily knowing their transmitter-receiver distance.

  • As office automation appliances and communication equipments are adopted in office buildings, internal heat gains increase gradually. When making simulation model, internal heat gains are usually set up with standard values or ignored. Therefore, the impact of the internal heat gains has been ignored or not been focused although it is recognised as significant contributor to heating/cooling load of buildings. This study focused on the impact of internal heat gains on curtain wall buildings. the amount and schedules of heat internal gains profiles not only affect the profiles of heating/cooling loads, but also make impact on reducing the effectiveness of high performance glazing systems. It is important to identify internal heat gains profiles before considering the installation of high performance glazing systems.
