The attempt to use a 3D model each field such as design, structure, construction, facilities, and estimation in the construction project has recently increased more and more while BIM (Building Information Modeling) that manages the process of generating and managing building data has risen during life cycle of a construction project. While the 2D Drawing based work of each field is achieved in the already existing construction project, the BIM based construction project aims at accomplishing 3D model based work of each field efficiently. Accordingly, the solution that fits 3D model based work of each field and supports plans in order to efficiently accomplish the relevant work is demanded. The estimation, one of the fields of the construction project, has applied BIM to calculate quantity and cost of the building materials used to construction works after taking off building quantity information from the 3D model by a item for a Quantity Take-off grouping the materials relevant to a 3D object. A 3D based estimation program has been commonly used in abroad advanced countries using BIM. The program can only calculate quantity related to one 3D object. In other words, it doesn't support the take-off process considering quantity of a contiguous object. In case of temporary materials used in the frame construction, there are instances where quantity is different by the contiguous object. For example, the formwork of the temporary materials quantity is changed by dimensions of the contiguous object because formwork of temporary materials goes through the quantity take-off process that deduces quantity of the connected object when different objects are connected. A worker can compulsorily adjust quantity so as to recognize the different object connected to the contiguous object and deduces quantity, but it mainly causes the confusion of work because it must complexly consider quantity of other materials related to the object besides. Therefore, this study is to propose the solution that automates the formwork 3D modeling to efficiently accomplish the quantity take-off of formwork by preventing the confusion of the work which is caused by the quantity deduction process between the contiguous object and the connected object.

The effect of built-in volume ratio of expander on the performance of a two-loop Rankine cycle system for engine waste heat recovery of vehicle has been investigated. In the case of positive displacement expander in the various operating condition of the vehicle, it can operate in both under-expansion and over-expansion conditions. Therefore, the analysis of off-design performance for the expander is very important. Furthermore, the volume and weight of the expander as well as the efficiency must be considered in the optimization of the expander. This study shows that the built-in volume ratio of expander causing under-expansion at a target condition is more desirable considering the off-design performance and size of the expander, based on the simple modeling of off-design operation of the expander.

The PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft for aircraft, with welded construction using multiple thin membranes, was developed in the 1950s to improve the elasticity of the part. As it is lightweight, stable at high speeds, and has good flexibility, it is used in most of the fighter aircraft. It connects the AMAD (aircraft mounted accessory drive) gearbox with the EMAD (engine mounted accessory drive) gearbox and transmits the rotational power between them. It operates in the high speed range of 10,000-18,000 rpm. In this study, the safety of the PTO shaft made of Ti alloy was investigated using finite element analysis, and the ability to transmit power was demonstrated through a high-cycle fatigue test conducted in a laboratory. Further, the life of the ball joints of the aircraft under high-cycle fatigue test conditions was predicted, and the wear characteristics were analyzed.
With the recent prediction of 'Cycle 25', the importance of space weather research increases. Accordingly, the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC)-23 has adopted Agenda Item 9.1a) and carried out sharing researches between active/passive space weather observation systems and existing services. Therefore, in this paper, in order to increase the precision of space weather environment data and secure the frequency spectrum for observation systems, the direct interference effect from the weather radar in Gosan, Jeju on the space weather observation receiver in Hallim, Jeju, and the indirect interference on the observation receiver by diffraction and scattering from the radar target have been analyzed. As a result, it can be known that the radar direction, the propagation direction diffracted and scattered from the target, and the Rradar Cross Section (RCS) of the radar target, the reception area of the space weather observation antenna, and the antenna off-boresight are important parameters for the interference effect analysis.
Aircraft structures and engineering structures are always subject to variable amplitude loads. Variable amplitude loads include some kind of loading history; for example, constant amplitude load, single peak overload and block overload etc. Crack growth under variable amplitude loading exhibits retardation effect. In this study, the 4 point bending fatigue test was performed by hydrolic servo fatigue testing machine on 7075-T6 Al-alloy. The retardation effect of overload ratio and numbers of overload cycle was quantitatively studied. 1) Change of retardation effect against increment of overload ratio is more evident when the multiple overload is applied than single overload is done. 2) The number of overload cycle is very important factor about the crack growth retardation effect when the overload ratio is more than 1.75; that is not when the overload ratio is less than 1.75. 3) Overload affected zone size increased gradually by increment of crack growth retardation effect. 4) Crack driving force is more greatly reduced when the crack tip branched off two direction than it sloped to one direction.
The application of large power transformer into a power distribution system was inevitable due to the increase of power demand and distributed generation. However, the decrease of the power transformer's impedance caused the short-circuit current of the power distribution system to be increase thus, the higher short-circuit current exceeded the cut-off ratings of the protective devices such as circuit breaker. To solve these problems, several countermeasures have been proposed to protect the power system effectively from higher fault current and the superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) has been expected to be the promising countermeasure. In spite of excellent current limiting performances of the SFCL, on the other hand, the efforts to apply the SFCL into power system has been delayed due to both the limited spaces for the SFCL's installation and its long recovery time after the fault removal. In order to solve these problems, a hybrid SFCL, which can perform either first half cycle limiting of first half cycle non-limiting operation, has been developed by corporation of LSIS (LS Industrial System) and KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation). In this paper, we tried to requirements hybrid SFCL by PSCAD/EMTDC. Simulation results of our analysis of the hybrid SFCL is that its accompanied the characteristics both the limit the fault current and quick recovery caused by the less impact from superconductor.

Basic design of a 50USRT(175㎾) triple effect absorption chiller driven by hot gas has been carried out for both parallel and series flow cycles. Parallel flow cycle showed higher COP, however, the temperature in the generator was also higher than that in series flow cycle. Dynamic operation behavior of a parallel flow system at off-design conditions, such as the change in heat transfer medium temperature or the construction change of the system components, has been investigated in detail. It was found that the cooling capacity was seriously decreased by reducing hot gas flow rate and UA-value in the high temperature generator. However, the system COP was improved, because thermal load in the system components was reduced. The COP and the cooling capacity was found to be improved as cooling water temperature decreased or chilled water temperature increased. The optimum ratio of solution distribution could be suggested by considering the COP, the cooling capacity and the highest temperature in the system, which is critical for corrosion.
This paper outlines how the on-line performance monitoring system can be used to improve the efficiency and maintenance of the equipments. And a method of the heat rate allocation to each equipment was suggested to monitor the performance of combined cycle power plants. This calculates the expected heat rate of current conditions and compares it with actual values. Loss allocation in heat rate is reconciled by calculating the magnitude of the deficiency contributed by major components, such as the gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator, steam turbine and condenser. Expected power output is determined by a detailed model and correction curves of the plant. This simulation models are found to reproduce high accuracy in behavior of the cycle for various operating conditions, both in design and in off-design condition. Errors are lower than 2% in most cases.
Purpose: This study attempts to explore the subjective experience of frailty among elderly individuals in Korea. Methods: From June to August in 2014, 11 elderly persons who had experienced frailty in a community were interviewed. For data analysis, the method suggested by Colaizzi was applied as a phenomenological method. Results: According to the analysis, the study participants' frailty process was structured in seven categories: (a) 'natural phenomenon with ageing,' (b) 'life force comes to an end,' (c) 'the light in my heart turns off,' (d) 'unavoidable situation,' (e) 'continuous and connected vicious cycle,' (f) 'the limit of recovery energy already passes,' and (g) 'life is supported by someone's help.' Conclusion: The frailty experience in the participants is a natural process of aging, which cause vicious cycle acting with each other among physical, psychological, and social health. It is said that the cycle of frailty was started from weight loss and insufficient sleep, and boostered by pain. The participants from repetition of the vicious cycle become exhausted and pass the threshold of their recovery energy at some points. If they meet with sudden accidents such as falling, traffic accident and so on, they become to live a dependent life supported by someone's help in a moment. To prevent frailty and worsening conditions in Korean elderly individuals, it is recommended to provide a interventional programs using this study's results.
Organic Rankine Cycle is widely used to convert the low-grade thermal energy to the electrical energy. However, usually available thermal energy is not supplied constantly. This makes hard to use positive displacement expanders. Hence, turbo-expander has merits to apply as an expander in ORC because it can operate well off-design points even though the mass flowrate is fluctuated. The thermal energy fluctuation causes the turbo-expander to operate in partial admission. In addition, supersonic nozzles are required so that the partially admitted turbine operates efficiently. In this study, R245fa was chosen as a working fluid of ORC. A design method and an analysis technique of supersonic nozzle based on R245fa were developed. The shape of the nozzle was designed by the characteristic method. The thermal properties within the nozzle were estimated and the predicted results were agreed well with the computed results.
